Yes, United Capital Asset Management is the Asset Management wing/arm of United Bank for Africa.

What do you want to know about their service and reputation. I have used them about 2 and half years now if I am not mistaken. Cant really remember the date unless I check.

For the period I have used them, their services have been good. I opened the account online through the app and afterwards finished up with mails/calls where they needed clarification while verifying my details before my account was setup and the details were sent to me. Their rates have been okay when compared to others. Their customer service are responsive both via WhatsApp and email. Though I rarely call them so, I can't say much about calls. You can get same day withdrawal if your account is well/completely setup.

That said, just like every other Asset management firms, you may encounter delays once in a while in them crediting your account after deposit if you don't do it according to instructions or you at the end of quarter when they are settling accounts.
Thank you for your reply. I don't hear much about them on this thread, needed to be sure they're good before having anything to do with them.

Good morning everyone.

I'd like to know if anyone has experience with United Capital Asset Management (Money Market Fund). I'm interested in learning more about their services and reputation.

I'm curious if there's any affiliation between United Capital Asset Management and United Bank of Africa. Any insights you can share on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

CareerRe: Japa: Top 5 Lucrative Side Hustles For Nigerians To Survive In UK, Canada by VeeInsider: 8:57pm On Apr 22, 2024
Hello. Will it be possible to share how you went about this?

Monaboo:
Why can't Nigerians just apply for M.Sc in UK from Nigeria and do the whole course in Nigeria.

Who is going as an International student again to be paying between £15,000 - £21,000 to UK Government?

Something even UK home students can not even pay.

When I tried applying from Nigeria to UK, I was given £1,900 for a course of about £15,000.

That means I'm paying just £1,900.

That's is a very huge discount.

It is available for every course even B.Sc.

And I'm doing the course in Nigeria.

I don't need to travel.

I would advise everybody to do same.

Once I finish the UK M.Sc, I will quickly use my UK M.Sc and apply for Fully Funded P.hD program in USA.

We all know USA gives out Fully Funded Ph.D scholarship like water. Some even come with Stipend sef.

And boom...I'm in USA.

With ease and I won't spend much atall.

That is smart thinking.

Or I use my UK M.Sc to apply for Visa Sponsorship jobs in UK or Middle East Countries (Dubai, UAE, Quatar, Saudi Arabia). Even USA too.

Western countries love UK Degrees.

No go apply for job in Western Countries with with your Nigerian degree o.

Ya eye go tear.

And before u know it, I have Japad easily.

That is smart thinking.

I feel for those that are struggling to Japa or have Japad and are paying close to £19,000 as school fees to UK Government

TravelRe: Japa: It’s Now Getting Expensive To Japa Through Student Route by VeeInsider: 6:52pm On Mar 03, 2024
Hello, what's the 3yrs STEM OPT?

goodman023:
The route to work authorisation isn’t straightforward like u said. Most people’s option is to do the 3yrs STEM OPT, which is a guaranteed work authorisation on its own , and either leave the country or find another way. Indians use this route and work and raise money for three years, pay the loan they borrow to get their masters degree, and some eventually leave the US with the remaining of their savings, as we all know H1B is more like a scam..

Thank you for your reply. I'll read more on these.

ernie4life:
If you do long term, why don't you consider bonds, Sukuk bond offered 15%+
savings bond is also offering returns above 12%
the last FGN bond auction(though the minimum is quite high) offered 19%.

If you strategically invest in an equity fund when the price is low with a 5 years tenor in view, i can assure you that your return will surpass that of MMF.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by VeeInsider: 10:43pm On Feb 22, 2024
How please? I do only long term and I chose MM due to no knowledge of capital preserved alternatives.

ernie4life:
There is a better way to do that, you should be able to match your investments with a tenor that aligns to it.

Investing long term money is a short term asset is not the best way, because you could make way more.

But i respect your strategy.

Congratulations. Greater heights

chinasaekpere:
I graduated from the University 12 years ago. Since then I have been jumping from one job to another with no progress in sight. I discovered that I have been stagnant for Years, so I decided to learn a skill.

I started by learning how to make footwear, I learnt that for a year but I later discovered that it's not what I want to do, although I can make every type of footwear even boots.
Last year I took an online course in frontend web development, for 6 months I studied for an average of more than10 hours daily learning from HTML and now React.js. I learnt figma, scss, CSS, Version control, jquery, bootstrap, Chakra UI and react.js, it was a tough one because I had to forfeit other means of making money. I got hungry so many times, I used my last card to buy data so I can keep studying and doing my projects.

Earlier this month, I finished by portfolio project, I had already worked on 4 projects using react, Jquery, Chakra UI and bootstrap. I designed coupled of web pages using figma.

Earlier this month, my girlfriend who's a data analyst sent me a link for a front-end developer role. In my mind, I didn't feel like I was ripe enough so I didn't apply. 2 days later, I decided to give it a try and so I applied. I was called to come for interview this Monday.

On getting there, the company was working on this revenue web app project they are doing to for a particular state government. I was asked to develop the UI of one of the pages using react, CSS and Tailwind. I have heard of Tailwind before but I have never used it.
I told the interviewer that I have never used tailwind and that I'm proficient using bootstrap. He replied that I should go through tailwind documentation and then use it to style the page on top of react.

So I started reading the documentation, I discovered that it's syntax is somehow similar to Chakra UI which I have used once in my project, the are the same concept of class utility. So I decided to start coding, getting snippets from the documentation and then applying my Chakra UI knowledge to work around it.

To cut the long story short, I coded from 9am in the morning and delivered the page by 5pm.

I was sent an appointment letter today. So my tech journey officially started. It's a junior role though but I'm glad I broke the ice.

The salary is what I have never earned in a month since I was born. 😊

Are there others that guarantee capital preservation?

ernie4life:
This year, try diversifying your investment to a more stable currency.

Explore balanced funds and equity funds this year especially if your investment horizon is between 1 to 2 years, they had an impressive performance last year and still hold lots of potentials.

Do something different this year in your investment journey and watch the results.

MMF is not the only mutual fund in the world!

GOD bless you for being a better person and choosing to do the right thing.

Right now there's an urge for you to show how endowed the girl is so you can freely speak of the type of person you rejected or declined. We understand this.

For your own good, delete this picture. You've done well by rejecting her advances and advising her. Nairaland is a public forum and her people will come for you once they see this her picture.

HealthRe: Can A Diabetic Foot Be Treated Or Best Amputated? by VeeInsider: 8:21am On Sep 24, 2023
We all desired his foot won't be cut off, the first hospital said it had to be cut off, another doctor said it can be treated.

We went with the option of treating the foot, the doctor started by reducing his sugar level and doing all that he could do, we had high hopes of his recovery until he went into diabetic coma, the doctor advised we use another hospital, we had to take him to another hospital and he died after 3 weeks.

This is my personal experience this June 2023, I lost someone so dear to me and we all desired the same thing your family is desiring right now.

Best will be to evaluate the extent of the damage, run the necessary tests and scan. DO IT ALL AS FAST AS POSSIBLE, avoid delayed tests and quack hospitals.

I wish the person a speedy recovery, whether amputated or treated. Happy Sunday

HomoSapiien:
There’s a brother of mine who’s been admitted to the hospital for about a week now. Man is pain.

He’s always been diabetic but the foot got worse this past week and he’s been admitted. Unable to eat and sleep. I’m really scared for him.

Doctor gave advice that the foot is amputated to prevent the spread to the entire leg, but his families are objecting to this saying that they’d prefer to treat him.

My question is, is it best to treat him or get the leg amputated?

What are the chances of his survival doctors in the house?

InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by VeeInsider: 12:43am On Aug 05, 2023
Thanks for this. Regarding your last line, can you list good stocks that pay dividends and how often are the dividends paid?

I'm new to dividend paying stocks.

emmasoft:
Check my previous posts on fixed income fund particularly SFS fixed income fund which I'm involved in.

Most of the investors here tend to lean towards low-risk investment hence MMF is always discussed. Other funds like balance funds, growth funds, and equity funds carry more risk compared to MMF and fixed income hence most investors that will invest in such funds must have gained some confidence otherwise they remain with low-risk MMF. It's true that rates are low yet it's still better than leaving your money in a savings account. Remember it's a case of low-risk low returns and vice versa.

Another issue is the mode and duration of the returns on other funds, Some of them pay dividends once a year, and sometimes no dividends. The minimum holding periods of some of these funds apart from MMF are seen to be too long.

Personally, I advise my clients to invest directly in dividend-paying stocks instead of equity funds since it's practically the same risk involved.
