Im a Med Student, so things might be different, anyway... I paid 49.9k, 65k (heard acceptance fee was 45k for other depts) , returning fee is 14.4k....I stay in a Med hostel, nd it is 25k... I think the normal residential hostels are abt 8k+.... I dnt really understand ur q of accomodation fr returning students. But of course, u can get a space even if u dnt stay in Benin. I stay in Lag. U jst av to be very sharp with ur hostel application.... nd lastly, nah. I dnt knw any. Sorry

SUG EMERGENCY UPDATE 14/09/2016!!!

Good day Uniben Intellectuals, there is a circular that is been broadcast around saying RESUMPTION IS 7TH of October. A closer look at the circular shows that it is an edited broadcast of an earlier message.
Hence, the afore mentioned circular should immediately be discarded as it is NOT from the OFFICE OF THE SUG PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER.
I'm hereby using this medium to forewarn personalities who are head bent on circulating false messages in other to mislead the Good Students of University of Benin.
The SUG has placed measures in collaboration with the School Security to track down suspects who are perpetuating this act.
Lets be properly informed that resumption date still remains 22/09/2016 and any further change would be communicated to you.

LATEST ON UNIBEN SCREENING
Uniben admission screening commences 2moro 14th-16th for the first set. From wat I have gathered so far, only dos dat scored 250 and above have been fixed up for screening, which implies dat the screening will come in batches. If you have reprinted, ur printout shuld contain screening venue, time and date. Make sure you are at the venue one hour before the screening, as dis wuld give u insight on how the questions look like. Try to go to ur venue with all ur documents if possibo, so dat wen dey ask for anytin, u can provide it at the point of screening, not getting urself pertubed on how to go home to get some documents. Whether or not u had result checking scratch card before, do well to buy a new scratch card to verify your SSCE results online. If you are using two results, you must get two scratch cards. Pls keep in mind the following points as per the screening questions
*Cram all the grades you had in your O'level result. They may just ask you to state wat u scored in English, Maths etc.
*Know your jamb aggregate score and wat u had for each of the four subjects
*Know the name of the minister of Education- Mallam Adamu Adamu
*Know Edo state commissioner for Education- Hon Gideon Obhakhan
*know the name of the new Jamb registrar- Prof Ishaq Oloyede, the past was Prof Dibu Ojerinde.
*know the name of current Uniben VC- Prof Osasere Faraday Orumwense, he was sworn in 11th March 2015. The past was Godwin Osayuki Oshodin.
*Note also that Uniben is in Ovia Local Govt Area of Edo state.
These are common questions that are likely to be asked. They may not be the exact questions, but make sure you learn all these before going for your screening. I wish you guys good luck.

If my brain serves me right, a scratch card has 5 trials. so, why and what on earth do they need 2 for?

If you see how I was calculating how I was going to use my 3 remaining trials ehn. I had said I would give the screening officer the result checker to check ONLY ONCE, then quickly collect it back for future purpose.

Lol. Since its pre-screening nd its a new process, it might be different sha. But dnt gamble with ur chances. At least during clearance, we had already gained admission nd were already in a safe zone. So dnt do anything that will anger the officers or strangle ur chances of getting ur Mat. No. nd UNIBEN I.D card next year, all in d name of saving a few thousand nairas. Just observe intelligently wen u get there. Ask fellow aspirants questions.

I bought a result checker few days ago to ascertain my grades. It wasn't a scratchcard, though. It was a plain paper containing serial number and pin. I've used it twice, so, I have three trials left. Will uniben accept it? Cc. Ksslib, venus007, etc.

Not being resentful tho, I'm glad for MBBS aspirants, my cousin especially (Sored 224). What I'm trying to say is that, I doubt if these bench marks were based on general performance.

Speculations have gone viral that they'll be using Waec jamb 60:40 as the criteria for inviting candidates for oral test, this will obviously jeopardize my admission chances as i took my SSCE in a public school and i was graded with C6 parallel

Ur moniker tho. Surely u would av been invited. Only 12 ppl applied for Religious Studies(ED) and their bench mark is 200. But dnt let it bother you..... What uni did u choose?

Candidates who have registered for the UNIBEN 2016/2017 SCREENING and didnt meet d departmental cut off mark for their first choice can now login into their kofa account at the top left corner and click on application record.
candidates are to make sure their newly selected course of study must meet the cutoff mark published by UNIBEN,
confrim your passport of having a red background so as not to disqualify you save and finally summit.

Francis95, sorry Im replying late. They are both right. Fill in all subjects you wrote. Make sure the 5 compulsory subjs are filled in first tho.

If the GCE you referred to above is the same as Nov/Dec, O level exam type, then i must point out here for clarity that WAEC does issue Certificates to its candidates.



It's not up to 5years. Someone close who wrote WAEC GCE late 2013 was issued his certificate in January, 2015.

And by way of addition to the requirement you stated above for Certicate collection, you will need an affidavit deposed to by you stating that you have collected the original certificate.

Lastly, I must say that you guys are doing a great job helping the prospective freshmen out.

For those who are not eligible, lets wait and see. Itsnt over until d whole admission process is over. Keep hoping but if u av any alternate plan grab it! Dnt feel lyk its d end of d world, I didnt get Med on my first trial...Goodluck!

Yes, I think so. Get evrything u can. I once hrd GCE doesnt give certificates so get d statement of result ASAP.

Ok. Im jst saying it wud av been worse if dey jst went ahead to use d 300 dey wanted to use b4. So trust me, this is waaaay better.

I think this method is pretty fair. The cutoff marks are very okay. No matter how bad JAMB was a serious student going for Medicine shouldnt av had less than 220. Although, d fairness would also depend on wat d pre-admission screening will constitute but I av to commend UNIBEN on those cutoff marks. At least most ppl will get a fair chance..... My advice to u guys is to gather every Joule of energy in u and prepare for dis screening. Be it oral, written or credentials review. Although I doubt dey would call u guys to review credentials b4 giving admission as dey can easily do that online.... Again best of luck.
