Jokes Etc / Sermon About Liars! by vexxy(f): 3:18pm On Nov 10, 2005
A preacher finished the service one morning by saying, next Sunday, I am going to preach on the subject of LIARS. As a preparation for my sermon, I would like you all to read Mark 17.

On the following Sunday, the preacher rose to begin. Looking out at the congregation he said, Last week I asked you all to read Mark 17. If you have read the chapter, please raise your hand. Nearly every hand in the congregation went up. Smiling, the preacher said, you are the very people I want to talk to. Mark has only 16 chapters.

I'm missing layi. Where are you, Layi?

Hi everyone!
Family / Re: My Husband Says I've Changed From the Person I Was by vexxy(f): 2:46pm On Nov 10, 2005
Fabian, you took the words right out of my mouth, wonderfully put, sis!

alheri, I stand in agreement with Fabian on this one!  Everyone changes all of the time.  We change to adjust to our environment and circumstances.  Just as The Fabulous Fabian said, the concern is whether the change is for the better or for worse.

Seun, the first was harsh!  The second, more like you wink

Wow, I love it when a man speaks his mind. Most often they just remain silent and keep the things they dislike to themselves where as women are more often apt to talk about it.

Speak on, men; speak on!

Oh, that would be great! I'll definitely let you know!
Romance / Re: I Married My Girlfriend Because She Got Pregnant by vexxy(f): 6:41pm On Nov 09, 2005
Aww, I'm happy to hear that. Don't worry about the age factor. Many people get married young or old, it doesn't matter. What matters is how much you want to make it work and what you're willing to do to keep it afloat.

Congratulations to you and your wife. I hope it all works out for the best.

What would really be nice is to go up to Toronto and have Thanksgiving in October then coming back here for a Thanksgiving in November!

I'm planning on travelling to Canada as well. Some friends want to go next month but I think it would be to cold in December!

The only problem with that line of thought is he could grow to resent her feeling forced to marry. You should marry because both parties are willing, not because of obligation. It's never to late to put your thoughts on the table and deal with them.
Family / Re: Tell Us About Your Marriage by vexxy(f): 4:39pm On Nov 09, 2005
Who Opposed to the Marriage and Why? How Did You Previal?

My family was very accepting of him.  Well, I should say my mother's side of the family was very receptive of him.  My grandmother loved him so much that she gave him my grandfather's wedding ring to use.  It was my father's side that had a problem.

They thought (and some continue to think) that he only wanted me for marriage so that he may become a citizen.  They thought that he would use my position to pull strings and make that happen for him.  It came to a point where my father told him to his face that he could make him "disappear."  It was a rough time.

Unit 22 went though the pains of explaining to them that he had refugee status which allows him to work in the country and legally reside in the country with or without me.  Infact, being with me would slow up his process to citizenship since there would be a three year waiting period.  He would have gotten citizenship in 2 years.

My very own father then asked him why not just live with me for a few years and then decide to get married.  My husband was taken back by this comment.  He asked my father what would he do if he were to live with me, have intimate relations with me, impregnante me, then decide to leave?  That's didn't go well with my father.

Even at the wedding my father told my boss that he did not trust my husband.  I don't know why he would say that to my boss, my job could have been at stake.

But, as it turned out my father came to the wedding, it was his father who not only failed to show but talked with over 40 other people and convinced them not to go as well.

The reason?  Stay tuned for The Story of Us. . . . .

Decide to make it work, good, Seun!

Be sure to take the appropriate steps to ensure a happy healthy marriage.
Romance / Re: I Married My Girlfriend Because She Got Pregnant by vexxy(f): 3:01pm On Nov 09, 2005
I don't understand, donone. Do you believe in your marriage or not? Memorable times and being your wife's first are not valid reasons to get married. Impregnating her is also not a valid reason to get married. All of these factors can lead to the demise of the union. You may come to resent her at some point.

It's important to discuss these feelings with her and/or with a marriage counselor before it gets to late. A doubting spouse can become both an unhappy and a cheating spouse. It's better to deal with these feelings now than later.

I hope it works out no matter the course taken.

She's the one in authority, she'll be using you. You can easily say you no longer want her and she can easily fire you. She emerges the victor.
