Family / Re: Tell Us About Your Marriage by vexxy(f): 3:49am On Nov 11, 2005
Conflict: The Story of Us Continues.......

Just as Fabian we, too, first got married in Court.  We did this so we would be able to move in together in order to save money for our church wedding in August.  His little sister had been staying with a few "friends" of the family when they moved into the home just as the dad moved out.  She was left alone to them and their devices.  It was midnight, sometime in late May, we received a distress call from her.  Fighting had taken place and they had ganged up on her.

Unit 22 took the call and looked at me.
"She's in trouble, they've been fighting her."
"She can stay with us," was my only reply.

We got dressed quickly and just so we'd get there faster, I drove.  We raced across town and arrived at the apartment complex a little after midnight.  He asked me to wait in the car while he dealt with the situation.  About 20 minutes later they came down together, both carrying bags.

That night she came into our home was the beginning of our conflict with the father.  The next day he demanded she be returned to the home.  She was unhappy and losing weight, she also had scratches on her face from the night before.  There was no way we'd deliver her back there.  We told him that it we didn't mind caring for her.  He felt it would be a shameful thing for his daughter to be living elsewhere and launched a protest on our marriage.  He went back and talked to almost everyone who was helping us trying to get them to turn on us.  Some did, some didn't.  It was a rough time for our family.

I even called him and asked for this to be put behind us, after all, you only get married the first time once. wink  Needless to say, he refused.  "It's to late" was all he said on the matter.

The marriage went through without a hitch.  No one asked for him;or rather, they knew not to ask for him.  My father not only showed up but gave us a song in the church and wrote a song that he sung for our first dance.  He also danced the night away being the life of the reception.  Despite the family problems we enjoyed the wedding and the reception.

We ended up getting the church for free (usually a fee of $500 or more) since it was the same church in which he proposed.  The food was overflowing and people danced late into the night.

Stay tuned for The Story of Us: Honeymoon

If one is a Christian, one refers to the assembly as church.

nferyn:

Yes, that's the exclusive choice one has: either a church or a mosque. What about a synagogue, a buddhist or shinto temple, a temple for Shiva, a srcular communal centre, ... ?

You cannot have a list of best famale R&B singers and NOT include Mariah Carey. That girl can sing if you personally like her or not!

Not in any particular order or preference:

1. Mariah Carey
2. Aalyiah
3. Lauren Hill
4. Whitney Houston
5. Sade

I wouldn't even try and compete with Moni.  It's not worth it.  One woman should not be compared to another because they are two separate beings.

If he is unwilling to leave her, the marriage is pretty much over.  He can't have his cake and eat it too.  Who knows what disease [Moni] may have that can pass on to the wife.  Simply  not worth it.

If he is unwilling to work it out, where can you go?  Marriage is a takes a team effort.  Two people working on a common goal.  He has obviously deterred from that.

I'd also agree that it was written by a professional.
