Thanks for the support thus far. I powered on my Luminous 1.5KVA with 2 PRAG GEL batteries today. The Inverter has a setting for Unregulated charging and Regulated/Smart Charge, I set it to SMART CHARGE, Is this Ok for my PRAG Batteries?

tundebabzy: If you haven't already gotten the luminous inverter, why not go for Tripp Lite? I bought the APSX series (1000w modified sine wave for 53k). Its got in-built equalizer and 3 stage charger. If you buy the components separately you might end up paying more and then you have the headache of maintaining 2 or 3 separate units instead of 1.

Thanks Bro, the Luminous is a gift from a friend travelling abroad. Its only batteries that am shopping for right now. I think I will have to settle for Maintenance free batteries so as to save myself headache of many gadgets and maintenance. Someone recommended PRAG BATTERIES. Whats your take on the PRAG BATTERIES? Will this be ok for my Luminous without getting external chager.

c0ogumo: Trojan batteries require a strong charger. Your 1.5KVA inverter chager is not strong enough to charge the batteries fully.
You will need a smart battery charger like Cotek CX2425 battery charger.

Can the TROJAN batteries work effectively with my LUMINOUS Inverter if I get the SMART CHARGER? What of Equalization? How do I achieve that? We need to talk pls. How do I contact U?

richmon74: You cannot use trojan flooded with Luminous, Sukam, Genius etc. They will charge your battery to 70% and tell you fully charged thereby killing the battery overtime. Also they don't have equalization feature which you require for the flooded battery.
However, if you are incorporating solar to your system then you can go ahead as the charge controller (believing that you are using a pro) will handle the other aspects

Thanks for your advice? Are U saying that even with an external SMART BATTERY CHARGER as suggested above, it will still not be okay for me to use the Trojan Batteries with my LUMINOUS Inverter unless I deploy Solar? I do not have money for solar right now and besides I have PHCN Light upto 24 hours in every 3 days. Is the Equalization mandatory if I get all batteries new and connected at once? In the alternative what other batteries do U suggest? I really don't like the Idea of buying Batteries every year and this is the reason I wanted to opt for the Trojan (I.e can last for 10 years with Maintainance). Is it totally impossible to use this batteries with my Luminous?

Kindly enlighten me more.

@All,
I have a 1.5kva (24V) Luminous inverter. I however have a problem of choice of batteries to buy to power it. Am divided between 2 specs of Trojan Flooded batteries as stated bellow:

1. TROJAN T105-RE Premium Line Flooded Lead Acid Battery 6V (225AH)20hr Rate X 4 pieces (4 Pieces)

2. TROJAN J185P-AC Signature Line Flooded Lead-Acid Battery 12V (205AH) 20hr x 2 pieces (2 pieces)

Kindly enlighten me of the best choice to make from these 2 options.(Price is not an issue here) Can the Inverter charge these batteries effectively? or I will need another Charger?

I live in Abuja... am an Architect.... go to site here and there, yes the sun is merciless and will get hotter, but the Mercedes ac holds its own. when my car has been in sunlight all afternoon i just get in, wind down zoom off put on my ac and it gives me a lil warm air for like 6 seconds before it releases the south pole . then i just wind up and enjoy the sunny ride.

i have heard someone say something about big radiator and a good water pump and all that... i guess thats equally important so you wont have overheating issues. let our Gurus throw more light on this please. and yes Uncle Viazi i drive a 1996 C200

@ all, kindly shed light on this overheat issues, I have heard a lot about it. is it true? because I don't drive without AC and the c 280 is 6 cylinder

I PRAY FOR TECNO EVERYDAY FOR REMOVING THE GAP BTW "MONEY MISS ROAD" PEOPLE AND US THAT ARE CARFUL WITH OUR HARD EARNED MONEY. I AM ROCKING F7 RIGHT NOW AND WILL ADD N9 ANY MOMENT. Dont be discouraged, All we are saying is that N9 TABLET cannot be used as a PHONE, U can never carry it around the way U carry a phone, U would look stupid trying to do so. Am buying mine from parktelonline Abuja today.I have F7 which I use as a Phone.

The n9 as describe above is the best so far for its price a beast. So love-vendor it get a Bluetooth ear piece so when u want to call u use that and u still use it for other things as u like, no stress.

U have a point there, but I strongly feel U've not used a tablet for long before. There is no way U can carry a Tablet around the way U carry phones. NOTE: A TABLET CANT ENTER YOUR POCKET, ITS ALWAYS IN YOUR HAND, PHONE ON THE OTHERHAND SPEND MOST TIME IN YOUR POCKET. I have the A1 and will buy the N9 this week too. We sure need the 2.

PHONE & TABLET different ohhh, F7 can be with U any where because it can enter your pocket and U can hold it easily but N9 is a Tablet which is not easy for U to cary everywhere. Tablet cant replace phone Bro.
