It’s all systems go as SA Army Air Defence Artillery’s 10 Anti-Aircraft Regiment hits the road to Cape Town for Armed Forces Day 2019. Here the convoy is replenishing at Beaufort West. #sandf #sandf_19 #armedforces_19
kikuyu1: But why? Without active insurgency why should the army be (mis) used as cops? Or is there a secret COIN war we haven't heard of??
December is when locals n tourists travel and party the most so Shopping malls, drinking establishments and our roads become lawless...so added visibility to assist the police might help reign this in
The Navy usually deploys divers as lifeguards at popular beaches as well
ViceAdmirlAgain: Namibian President a few days ago launched Operation Hornkranz and called on the army to assist the police in law enforcement over the festive season
Last night he boarded an Army Wolf MK11 APC and went patrolling Windhoek streets
gottfried21: I still think we would tear them a new one if they tried to invade us tomorrow tbh,but I agree that they aren’t looking to bad.I’ve always envied their procurement department though
I would think that their larger Mechanized and Armour forces would overwhelm our smaller mechanized infantry ...They look good on paper our neighbors from the Kalahari...but lets not derail the thread
@Gottfried am very impressed by our easterly neighbors, those SK-105 tanks are a threat to the WZ 523 IFV's/APC's..Did we ever receive the Kornet ATM's? I wont even mention the ATMOS 2000 arty
GreenandGold: Communication equipment from a local supplier, which made me think of Namibian and Nigerian radio communications companies which I haven't seen on display
Seeing that we are talking military sports @Gottfried Any idea what Dolphin Bn in the Army is all about,is it an army diving/amphibious unit? Plus I've noticed the Recce regiment has been maintained alongside the Airborne/Special Forces
