TravelRe: Nigerian Embassy Rome Is Under Attack by Vicjustice: 11:24pm On Sep 27, 2010
unipol:
group of Nigerians under the umbrella of Nigerian youth movement (N.Y.M) has concluded plans to attack and kill the workers of Nigerian embassy in Rome based on allegation of corruption. the Nigerians who said that the embassy is a disgrace to Nigerian nation and citizens all over the world, said citizens of Nigerians will feel better without the embassy.
many Nigerians in Italy are complaining on how the embassy has been using every corrupt instrument to make illegal money, more especially in the booking of appointment for new electronic passport, many Nigerians has said that the embassy official's telephone number is not reachable since 3 months ago, simple because the officials want to be selling appointment at the rate of 100 euro each.
the Nigerian youth movement which base is in bologna, northen Italy, has made all the necessary arrangement on how the attack will take place because according to them "it is only through this attack that every body will hear our voice, we have written to the ambassador and the Nigerian foreign affairs to know if we can get justice, but we only see things changing from bad to worse and the embassy is busy selling appointment at the rate of 100 euro each in the name of emergency appointment while those that are not willing to pay will have to wait for a year before coming to the embassy for interview"
the heartless embassy officials are making thousands of euro every day plus their monthly saraly. without minding that a lot of Nigerians are presently unemployed because of the global economics crisis. "some find it difficult to pay their rent. and the only help we can get from our embassy is to be stealing our money through appointment, NO, we can live without the embassy" said N.Y.M.

some speculations shows that the embassy may be attacked next week, the Nigerian youth movement fail to say how the attack will be, whether by bombing or not, no body knows.
With these grammatical errors, poor composition and misspellings, this article can never be from a genuine news source, though i stand to be proven wrong if you can provide a link to its origin. Well, honestly, i reckon it is a made up story authored by you: I hope you understand the possible consequences of this nature of allegations and threats

Just the UK only, what about other countries in Europe and the world over?

Hmmm,  . .good point there but then again there is no guarantee that he is going to spend all N400K in a week IF ticket and hotel bill are not included.
But u made a very logical point there, it all depend on what evidence he presented to ECO.
It takes a great mind to accept another person's opinion when it varies from one's own. For this, i admit you have a great mind.

ctrume:
I'm not sayin i intend to spend all for the purpose of the visit,im js sayin dats all i hv in my statement.i cld spend half of dat 4 d purpose of the visit. The letter from the school wld be on the letter head.actually its my fiances business school graduation n i wld really love to be there.what other proofs can i show to substantiate my strong ties to the country?
As sad as it is to hear, you stand a great, very great chance of refusal: you'd need a special intervention to succeed as the ECO would need to act against protocols in order to grant you an Entry Clearance. I don't advice you to apply for the visa now, you would do better when you apply for it in future time with improved financial situation. You don't want to waste your money, do you?
TravelRe: Visiting Visa To The Uk by Vicjustice: 11:22am On Sep 26, 2010
justwise:
N400k is about £1.640.00 (today's exchange rate) that will be more than enough for you to stay for 5days here IF the ticket and hotel bills is taken away.
Logically the ECO might not accept that a person would be willing to spend his entire savings on visiting the UK and then be left with nothing when he returns to Nigeria. So pratically, his application would be refused on the basis of insufficient funds.

Oh, Siena! Congratulations!!!
I actually checked your profile to see if your YIM is displayed, and i saw some beautiful photo in it: You look a very happy family, and may it remain so.
Actually, i left Dublin since last year, i'm currently residing in Co Kerry, the South/West of Ireland, it's calm and very natural here. I'll be going to Riga, Latvia on Saturday.
TravelRe: How Safe Are Planes departing From Nigerian Airports? by Vicjustice(op): 6:54pm On Sep 23, 2010
Siena, it's frightening enough to be travelling in a massive object flying at 35000 ft at a speed of 900km/h how much more to think of the possibility of some bombs planted in the flying object. Man, this is horrible, and to imagine that security men could be paid off to allow unauthorised persons gain access to a grounded airplanes is disturbing.
I wonder whether this issue is being raised before the Nigerian authority, or don't they fear for their own safety?

I understand that the security and immigration officers at MMA do accept bribes to allow travellers with fake or inappropriate documents obtain boarding pass and gain access to planes. is this correct?

TravelHow Safe Are Planes departing From Nigerian Airports? by Vicjustice(op):
I don't know how you people see this, but i think the corruption level in Nigeria even at the airports is a very major threat to air travel security. How often do we hear of some desperate Nigerians dribbling (or bribing off) security staff to get access to airplanes and conceal themselves in unsuitable compartments that would eventually cost them their lives? Let's be grateful that these pitiful people are only desperate to leave the country, but just imagine they had terrorist intentions, what would stop them from succeeding in planting bombs in parked aeroplanes?
Please, don't insult me if i suggest that Nigerians working as security officers at the airports be replaced with International security personnel because, our people are too corrupts minded, and i'm afraid they would accept bribes from even Al-Qaida men to access airplanes and kill innocent air travellers. This is terribly horrible.

* AND FOR THOSE SEEKING TO TRAVEL OUT OF NIGERIA BY ANY MEANS, LET ME USE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO WARN YOU THAT IT IS AN EXTREMELY SILLY THING TO CONSIDER YOURSELF STAYING OUTSIDE AEROPLANE CABIN (THAT IS COMPRESSED WITH OXYGEN) AND EXPOSED TO ATMOSPHERE WITHOUT OXYGEN. TAKE A LOOK AT THE SKY AND OBSERVE THE CLOUD. YOU KNOW WHY THE CLOUDS ARE SUSPENDED AND HOOVERING ABOUT IN THAT ALTITUDE? NOW, THERE IS OXYGEN UNDER THE CLOUDS, BUT THERE IS LITTLE OR NO OXYGEN ABOVE IT. SO, TO THINK YOU CAN TRAVEL ABROAD HIDING IN A PLANE'S COMPARTMENT WITHOUT OXYGEN, IS MORE THAN A SUICIDE MISSION BECAUSE: AIRPLANES FLY HIGH ABOVE THE CLOUD WHERE THE AIR IS THIN AND LACKS OXYGEN, THEREFORE, YOU'LL BE KILLED OF CEREBRAL HYPOXIA (lack of oxygen to brain) OR HYPOTHERMIA (subnormal body temperature) IN A MATTER OF MINUTES

Note: Though, landing gears mechanism has the capability of crushing most foreign objects (like animal-birds) that might get stucked in it, but the body of a person whether dead or alive can jam the landing gear of a plane and cripple the aircraft: and that can cause a deadly crash

Hi all, pls n pls i will like pple's advice as regards my questions.
@funkybaby, mr pataki pls let me hear from u thanks so much.
1. pls is it possible that while appeal is still goin on one can make a new application.
Yes, it is allowed to make another application while you have a pending case of appeal against previous refusal: You can win both or loss both, or win one while you loss the other.

miladelly:
2. pls, my mum applied for visit visa n she was refused she said she was a housewife, now we are thinking she shld say she is a trader. Also, does she need a business registration as regards this. do you tink we can switch from saying she is a housewife to a trader. cos she was like she choose to be housewife last yr when she clocekd 60 but due to the visa application now is it possible to say a trader now or we shld stick to what she said earlier on.
Your mum wasn't refused because she said she was a housewife, but rather because she had not demonstrated her obligations and compelling ties that would guarantee her return to Nigeria.

miladelly:
3. she receives income from her children the embassy said we didnt show this proof can we show receipts, invoices, business registration of the children to proof income( although, since is nt the children that is sponsoring her their statement of acc will not be included) except that of the sponsor the brother in law.
You people actually made mistakes by failing to provide documentary evidence of her financial situation, she would have succeeded with the application because, people of her age are often taken into consideration compared to youths who are likely to abscond once let in. In case of a next application, she should present evidence of transactions of funds received, and of her personal financial state.

miladelly:
4. is it possible to change a sponsor ie her brother in law wanted to sponsor her b4 but we are thinking of changing that to someone else sponsoring her.
This is possible, but honestly, i must say that the mistake that you people made in the previous application will cast doubts on a new application if you make this move (of changing sponsor), the Entry Clearance Officer might see the move as a desperate measure to obtain a UK visa. But it may make more sense if the "someone else sponsoring her" is a person more related to her than the brother in-law.

miladelly:
5. the first application we made my mum didnt put her statement of acc n had no landed property, we only put fixed deposit. but now she hopes to put her statement of acc, the documents of the land property she just bought n together with the fixed deposit. she is 60 yrs pls what can be included to her application as regards to her age.

pls anything that can be of assitance will be apprecaited.
Her age is of advantage and should be considered. But she has to satisfy the ECO that she is a genuine applicant with acceptable intentions, that she is financially capable of maintaining herself without resorting to public funds, that she would have credible host(s) and that she has reasons to return to Nigeria before her visa expires.
Let her present as many documents as she can provide, and like i always say, it's better to have more than enough (and tire them with papers) than to have less (and make them refuse you with ease).

hi everyone,

I am about to apply for uk spouse visa. I and my husband are both very young (we were affected by the age change for uk spouse visa)  and has been married for 2yrs, I am in nigerian, recently turned 21 hence we are both over 21.

One of us is in the 'public eye' and the other has a stable job in the uk, we have all the documents and the best lawyer.

1. I travel alot out of nigeria already due to my profession and have never overstayed apart from once in the uk 18mths ago for '4 month only' how does these affect my application?

2. how long do  the application  take?

can anyone plz help. funkybaby can you plz help u seem to know alot about uk immigration.

All your help will be much welcomed

thanks
Things might have been easier except for one thing, your overstaying in the UK (even if it's just for one day) is a significant blow against your success, though, it could be pardonable depending on the circumstances of your departure from the UK, but in the worst case, the consequences could be a life ban for breaching the condition of your visa.
