That was all really. I don't have any immigration offences(apart from the above)
Good if that is the only immigration offence against you, but lets hope that you weren't given a ban for misleading immigration officers regarding the length of time you'd stay in the UK. This is very important.

cutefinger:
My wife is still a student, works partime (one in a while). she has a rented apartment. She does not in anyway have a recourse to public funds (i checked the UKBA website for list of public funds)
Are you certain that your wife does not get payment from Social Welfare? I'm concerned that she's a student who works part-time (once in a while) and yet, she has a rented apartment. But don't you think you need to find out?

Unfortunately, if someone is under a UK ban, there is no document issued to this effect: people who are banned from the UK eventually become victims of unfair administrative protocols in which they are automatically refused visas on permanent basis without being aware of their ban status, a development designed to make unsuspecting (banned) applicant pay thousands of Naira for a visa that would never be issued. But the good thing is that you are applying for a spouse/family visa, hence it is free of charge. But there is serious need for you to ask your wife very well about her financial status and her source of income as inadequate knowledge of her activities (or any thing about her) during interview would mean that your marriage is questionable or is not sustained: a good ground for visa refusal.

Hello Erico,

Thanks very much for putting up this thread. I have been following your comments on the VISA appeal threawell done.

Please, i just got married & my wife is a british citizen. i am looking to applying for a settlement visa by the end of this month.

WHile at that, i have visited the UK before (about 3-4 times). I once had a 6 months, renwed it to 2 years, and then another 2 years visa. On my last visit, i was refused entry into the Uk because i had previously stayed for 4 months at a stretch (when i had stated that i was going to spend 2-3 weeks). Also, i was studying with the Open University at that time, and upon investigations, the immigration official believed that i was trying to live in the UK. So i was removed back to Nigeria same day.

My wife is currently a student (last year) in a UNi in the Uk, and i run a business (been running it for about 3 years now). I already printed out the forms and saw all the requirements that i am to submit, inclusive of bank statment, proof of marriage etc

based on your experience, what do you think i should look out for, also, would my previous immigration history affect my current application? I need your advice bro, hope to hear from you soon.
Unfortunately, the video i sought has been deleted
What country did you get married in, where are you at the moment and from where would you be applying for the settlement visa?
Do you have any compelling reasons to explain to the visa officer regarding why you stayed in the UK longer than your allowed duration?
You stated that you were removed from the UK, was that an administrative removal, a repatriation or a forced deportation?
Definitely, your immigration history would be a major factor, the consequences would be less if you left the UK on your own (even after staying longer than your allowed period). And though you might meet some significant obstacles, but still, (except you are under a ban for immigration offences) you would stand a chance if your wife exercises her citizenship rights: she might need the service of a UK immigration solicitor.
Now, based on your faulty immigration history, the ECO might want to refuse you the visa. But as a legitimate husband of a UK citizen, you can not be denied the privilege of living in the UK except of course your wife is ineligible or you're under a ban, and if that be the case, then you might have to wait until the ban is over or is overturned.

Another lazy element desperately searching for Mugu. Which Cypriot family would employ a black person (directly from Africa) to work in their homes and mind their kids when the average Cypriot has the mind set that blacks are associated with diseases? By the way, have the Cypriots living in Cyprus all secured jobs for themselves how much more some people applying from Africa?

visa dated 01-02-10 to 01-04-10 multiple/single entry, duration 30days. I know its a 90-day visa but what does the multiple or single entry entails likewise 30 days duration? can one stay for 90days within the schengen zone using this kind of visa or max of 30days?I need clarification on it.Kindly throw more light on this.
First of all, get it clear that the visa is for two months and not 90 days that you assumed.
Now, the explanation for the details on the visa is: The visa is valid for 2 months, which means you can use it any day inside the two months period: but you can only stay in the Schengen countries for up to 30 days (inside the two month of the validity of the visa). And as for the Multiple/Single entry, i think you took this out of context, it can't be both, either the visa is for multiple entry or it is for a single entry, but if the visa states that you're allowed to stay for only 30 days, then i doubt it's multiple.

it has two parts north and south
southcyprus is eu country

they spend Turkish lira in the north
piece of advice
if u have someone to sponsor u til u finish your studies
then go to north Cyprus
but if u don't then u can look at somewhere else
Of the 10 countries that joined the EU in 2004, nine of them joined the Schengen states with-out Cyprus. It is highly important to know that Cyprus is not a member of the Schengen countries. This is extremely important because, a lot of people with Schengen visas are lossing money on air tickets for Cyprus as they are not allowed to board flights for Cyprus; and also, many people with Cyprus visas are meeting frustrations as they are disallowed the privilege to travel to Schengen countries from Cyprus.
SO, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR WHOEVER IS APPLYING FOR, OR IS TRAVELLING WITH A CYPRUS VISA TO BEAR IN MIND THAT A VISA FOR CYPRUS IS VALID FOR CYPRUS ALONE, AS WELL AS WHOEVER HAS A SCHENGEN VISA CAN NOT ENTER CYPRUS WITH IT. I hope this helps.

I think they will reply the email just that it may take some few days.
@Slyr0x, your findings may be correct and your idea may be partially smart, howbeit, it's not the solution; remember that a vast number of computer owners use McAfee, so it won't go well with such people.
But why should an innocent website be accused of posing risks to people's computer? I don't think the solution is to uninstall any antivirus programme that warns against it because, if the site is indeed innocent, then it should be totally cleared of every accusation and compatible with every antivirus.
WebmastersRe: Why The Security Warning From McAfee? by Vicjustice(op): 11:38pm On Oct 03, 2010
Ha, this is sad, even an Italian mate (who is a registered user of Nairaland) also expressed his concerns: his computer security (which is not even McAfee but NOD32) also warns him of the danger. I think someone did something (perhaps unaware), but don't rule out the possibility that someone might be attacking this website for whatever reason. . .
Consult an expert to detect the source and rectify it as the danger reports is extremely discouraging

@Vicjustice

I'll like your input here https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-524118.0.html, that is if you have stayed in canada.thanks
I visited Canada in 2007, hence i gave a brief info of my observations in this particular thread.
*Canada, with it's size bigger than the USA and a population of less than 32 million is highly underpopulated and in need of immigrants, i visited my brother who lives in Ontario region, his wife is an accountant masters degree holder from Nigeria, but she has recently began to attend a school of nursing because of the lucrative medical industry in Canada. Those who are illegal residents are not having hard times there: The good thing is, Canada does not deport immigrants for reason of documentation, the country needs them to stay, but the Canadian authority is only being careful about who they legalise because, despite the overwhelming opportunities in Canada, many Nigerians are involved in illegal activities relating to frauds and scams
Would it help if i cut and paste the article in your own thread?

Vic justice, The picture of the mobile home is not a typical travellers home, That one looks like the one tourists rent out to travel around Ireland, It is correct to call them travellers, they take offence it you call them tinkers or knackers,
This assertion may have been perfectly correct if i did not know the family that owned that particular mobile home. In fact, they are the Dooley family in Rathmore, well famous in Co Kerry and Co Cork region where they mostly do property maintenance and Tarmacadam businesses. They are pretty wealthy and own other homes and carravans.
And as for the "Traveller" thing, you may be correct as i percieve that you're Irish yourself, but i dare not refer to them as Travellers as i sense some degree of racism in that, and i presume they'd take offence to be directly called so.
TravelRe: Is Their Anyway I Can Sell Or Get My Money Back From Return Ticket From Klm? by Vicjustice: 3:22pm On Oct 01, 2010
Apart from the luxury that business or first class section of a plane provides, there are other advantages as well as insurance that are involved, hence the price is considerably high. Now, if your reservation was for business or first class, then, you should be given a refund depending on the terms and conditions of your carrier. But if you purchased an economic class ticket, then, forget it, there is no refund even if you didn't make use of the out-bound ticket at all. Such is the policy with economic class tickets.
TravelRe: How Do I Go About Inviting Sister & Child To The Uk? by Vicjustice: 11:57am On Oct 01, 2010
You stated that she has a child, so, she is most likely older than the acceptable age for a Dependant. Therefore, she would not be eligible for any migrant scheme except you provide her with skilled employment by which she would be migrating as a skilled worker. If this is out of the question, i'm afraid the only way you can invite her in is as a family visitor which does not entitle her to reside in the UK except you don't mind her breaching the visa conditions by becoming illegal resident.

Honestly talking, people like you make it difficult for genuine people to get tourist visas.
Anyway, with a valid tourist Schengen visa for France, you won't be encountering any difficulty nor restriction should you wish to move to Finland as both are borderless Schengen states: you won't even come in contact with immigration officers since flight within Schengen countries are scheduled to taxi through the restriction-free zones where the passangers can disembark and follow the passage-way leaving the airport just like domestic travel: the only people that would check your documents are the officials in France, but you would definitely be cleared to board, then, you're free to enter Finland, but then, you'll be illegal as soon as your visa expires and that is when your struggle begins.

@Vicjustice . man thanks for the great job u the best

i will like to know which is better to reside in the uk: dublin, belfast or leicester(england) as those are the three on my list for now. thanks
Thanks for your comment.
Well, Dublin is not in the UK, it is the capital city of the Republic Of Ireland which is a separate state from the UK's territory Norther Ireland that has Belfast as its capital. However, these cities have many things in common and your choice to live in any would be totally up to your preferential decision.

TravelRe: Life In Ukraine by Vicjustice: 11:02am On Sep 29, 2010
Ukraine? Well, take these measures into account:
*Be prepared to always watch your back whenever a person walks behind you as the Skin-Head racists there are extremely physical and can attack you with deadly force.
* Always make sure you don't walk alone at night or in an empty street during day time.
* Always make sure you're fit and athletic enough to enable you run fast for your life whenever you're being chased in the streets by their Skin-Head racists.
* Prepare yourself to always elude banana missiles that are thrown anonymously at you in the streets through upstair windows.
* Be prepared to get familiar with the "Hail Hitler" salute, and also with the name "Makaka" (Russian word for Monkey) without protest as protesting them may cost you blood.
* You'd learn to be appreciative whenever someone says to your face "Go home Nigger" or calls you "Makaka" because, the same person could have shot or stabbed you and ran away.
* Be prepared to be mockingly offered bananas occasionally, and know that you won't have any police to report the abuses to as there is no law in place against racism in Ukraine.
* Ensure that you have enough funding from Nigeria to maintain yourself as you would never find a job how much more to talk about its poor wages ranging from 754 to 900 Ukrainian Hryvnia (about 70 to 85 Euros) a month.
* Be prepared to sometimes sleep in extremely cold room during their biting winter as you might find it difficult to pay for the Soviet style central heater.
* Be prepared to study in an ancient Greek style alphabets
* Bear in mind that your education certificate will not be recognised in EU countries as you will definitely have to upgrade.
* Bear in mind that you would have to return to Nigeria as soon as you finished your education because, you would not like to become a wayward person like many stranded and frustrated Nigerians before you.
* Remember that you're married, therefore, you can't benefit from the only good thing i reckon about them, they have some of the most beautiful women in the world: tall, slim, blonde, blue-eyed sexy girls who crave for black guys  kiss So, your wife might be in danger of  lipsrsealed cool cheesy grin

I'm glad that Juzme has taken interest to contribute meaningfully to your thread. And like i said earlier, many people think you're unnecessarily anxious and therefore have moved on without making contributions.
Just to remind you; you stated that you sent photo-copied documents via courier service. . . that may be ok, but when the time comes for the visa application, remember to present only original document as photo-copy can lead to refusal without allowing you the chance to provide the originals.
TravelRe: Schengen Student Visa Enquiries by Vicjustice: 9:45am On Sep 28, 2010
Good-morning!
I can understand why no one seems to be interested in contributing to your thread, your original post just seems to have neither serious enquiry nor enlightening substance.
Now, concerning your question whether you're on track, let me first of all point out the area of your post that i don't seem to understand:
Hussain555:
I downloaded the formal letter for student visa on their website. After filling and signing the letter, I sent the following items to them using UPS COURIER SERVICE. . .
What were you trying to explain here? Did you mean that you downloaded a visa application form from the embassy's website, or that you downloaded the letter that the school sent to you from the school's website or were you talking about a student visa application form from the embassy's website?
You see, without getting this part clear, any advise or assessment regarding your application and chances may be wrong.
