He's sponsoring me coz my parent account is not gallant enough(silly reason right)
I'd be more grateful if you can help me with better reason(s) as to why am being sponsored by a family firend and what he can gain..
Thanks
If you can't give a reason, it therefore means that there is no existing reason.

@Vicjustice and oda gurus in the house.
U guys are doing a great job here, please I have a question and I'd appreciate response asap thanks.

I have received my admission letter to study in bulgaria. My question are:
My dad friend(family friend) wants to sponsor me, so I want to know if its advisable becoz my dad dosent have d finance to sponsor me.

Secondly, one of the requirements required was "ORIGINAL documentd of property of sponsor/company of sponsor"
Am really confused here, am thinking of presenting d Original with photocopies then I'd submit d photocopies and take back d Originals!!

Please I'd appreciate your reply and advice
I will be submitting my documents for visa next week.
The question that you should be more concerned about are these:
1) Is the sponsor your own parent?
2) If no, why is he sponsoring you and what would he gain by sponsoring you?

Hello visa officer,
please i intend to apply for student permit visa into canada. Ive gotten my admission in a Canadian university. But pple keep scaring me that i may be refused visa because my sponsor is not related to me. My sponsor is my family friend . Myself and his daughter got admitted into the same school and he is paying for us. He is like a father. He has taken it up to pay for my expenses. He paid throughout my undergraduate years. Now my question is how do i back up my sponsorship documents without getting rejected by the embassy. I know i need a strong backing but what exactly do i do.
thank you.

Dear Justiwse and Vicjustice,

I would like to ask the below question:

My father inlaw is currently in US. on a visit, can he apply for an Irish visitor visa in the US?

Thanks
No, he is not eligible to apply for a visa from the US unless he is a citizen or he holds a residence permit: an ordinary visa does not qualify him for that.

Dear Sir/Ma, i am on the verge of sending a Letter of invitation to my friend in the states, but i don't have a Nigerian Passport right now (i will apply for one soon though), is it possible i send the LOI without the Bio-Data page of my Passport as you mentioned up there ^ Pls, your reply will be very appreciated. Thank you.
.
So, I "mentioned it up there" and yet, you still asked me?
Well, what they actually require of you is a valid photo identity: and for a poorly identification country like Nigeria, a passport is a favourite consideration.

Hello House,

I went to pick up my visa n my baby's today and guess what? We were granted visa! Thanks to evry1 that dropped comments on this thread. They were all helpful, God bless you all!

what I (believe) did to have a successful application?

I read through all the posts on this thread*- from 2011-till date; highlighted why some visas were granted and why some were not. Then I noted comments from all the Nairalanders esp. Justwise, Omo tier 1, Vicjustice etc. Then, I applied, even though I still made some mistakes but I guess they were overlooked by ECO( I learnt that word frm this forum , I still dont know the full meaning but I know it is synonymous to "Grant or refuse that Visa"wink.

My advise to guys that are about to ask questions on UK visa applications esp. visit visa; Pls read through the previous comments on this thread, most (if not all) of the questions have been answered IN DETAILS.

I hope this makes sense to the house. Goodluck to those that are about to submit applications and those awaiting response!
Congrats!a

good day Vic. Pls what chance does someone who won a sports bet have in presenting the winnings as funds to secure a study visa in US, Canada, UK, Australia or New Zealand? Secondly, is 26/27years too old to go for a 1st degree in any of these countries? Thanks.
If someone won a lotto of (let's say N10m), and he utilizes the money with documented evidence, he may be fine, compared to a gambler who happened to place a winning bet and hit a joker: everybody knows that the money won in gamble usually returns to the gamble and that a gambler loses more money than he wins.
As for the question regarding age, I would say, no age is too old for education, all you need is to do it appropriately and to meet the requirements.

Vicjustice, i got a 6 months visa to UK in 2013 on a tourist visa. The interrogation at the hearthrow airport was just annoying and so i told the immigration officer on agreement that I need go back home on the ground that she will not cancel my visa. The reason being that i have to wait for 3 days in the cell to enable them check if truly am working in the company through which the visa was issued. I arrived on a friday morning. I went through several checks and even was fingerprinted and during the wait for my flight i was in one of the immigration cell.
Now when i got my passport back, i noticed that the date of my departure was written on the edge of my passport near but not on the visa with a sort of code i dont understand.
I did not try going back again and now the visa and passport has expired. I have a new passport.
Do you think this will affect my future application to UK or the USA and Canada in case i disclose i have a visa from before the UK?
Your advise or any experienced in the house will be appreciated.
Thanks
If what you narrated is nothing but the truth, then you should be fine. But if there was any misrepresentation, then, be concerned.

Dear Vicjustice,
I want to apply to the Belgian embassy for a student visa and one of the requirements is that my sponsor will show a proof of about €519 (116,500) i.e 'The sponsor has to be able to provide the student with 519 Euros per month'. My sponsor however has an active account with which he transacts business on a monthly basis in excess of the required sum. My question: will his statement of account be accepted since the required sum is not stationed in the account. The account however shows an active cashflow in excess of the required sum.
The question that you should be more concerned about are these:
1) Is the sponsor your own parent?
2) If no, why is he sponsoring you and what would he gain by sponsoring you?
3) Regarding business account, what has your education got to do with the business?
4) Did you even read the opening post of this thread at all before asking your questions?

Oga I disagree with you that people should not contact travel consultant do u think everybody can handle a visa application?
You would have said use a registered travelling expert consultant, see what u don't know u don't know cos even on the embassy website the checklist they have there alone can't help u get visa so man correct ur self okay, is just like you advising people to do self medication. When they are sick just tell them to go see a doctor and remember not all doctors are real.
This is how people like you misrepresent, misquote, and misinterpret noble matters and turn them into complicated issues.
Where in my post did i mention "travel consultant"?
If you don't know the difference between Travel Consultant and "visa agent", then i suggest that you read in silence.

Thanks boss! The odds will be tipped to my favor seeing God is with me.
If you have this great faith in God, then, why did you keep persisting that I tell you your chances?
Well, your mindset is more like a boxer hoping on God to help him defeat his opponent: doesn't the opponent know how to pray to God as well?
May God help you and may God help the Visa Officer too.

Hahaha nice one. From your experience what are the chances. Do they grant most people who use their uncles that share a surname with them visas?

Even though I can't make you prophecy but you should be able to play the percentage game surely.
The chances are very slim because, unlike parents who are willing to spend their everything to support their own children, only an extremely rich uncle would spend money to educate a nephew overseas.

@vicjustice and @justwise dunno if you're well versed with Spanish Visas; but then I have my documentation complete and I'm about to submit my visa. My uncle is sponsoring my stay though I have some considerable money in my account.

Do you fancy my chances? Like I said every other documentation is fine. I am applying for masters studies, I got a full tuition waiver so all I need is to show I can fund my stay and I presently work in a bank.

I highly anticipate your response.
Are you requesting that i prophecy?

Hello Visa Officers,

Thank you for the very enlightening information.
I will like to know how long is enough for money lodged into your account not to be termed as money lodgement?
For example, you get money from a sale of property on the 4th of June and your interview date is 29th of June.
Will this be tIrmed as money lodgement by the embassy?
In your case, it is not so much about how long ago that the money was lodged into your account, it is more to do with the activities in it and the amount of money that your account has accumulated without the lodgement: you don't expect a Visa Officer to believe that you sold a property and intend to use the money to travel abroad as a tourist, do you?

@vicjustice thank you for your response. Please I need a clarification on this: during those two times that I was denied,i chose Atlanta as the state i'm visiting and I filled the contact information of my friend that lives there but now I intend to change where i'm visiting to anoda state with an hotel reservation, will that raise an eyebrow as inconsistency? Pls reply. Thank you.
No, that is not inconsistency especially if you have valid reasons or motives.
The literal meaning of the United States is United Countries. The USA is a compilation of many potential countries UNITED as one sovereign nation.
Now, the United states could be compared to the whole of Europe both in size and political structures, therefore, your question is like asking whether it is inconsistence if someone who once wanted to visit Germany now changes his mind to want to visit Sweden.

please i need your urgent reply; i was recently denial a norway vocational resident permit on the following grounds:

the directorate of immigration believes that the applicant does not have the necessary ties to his country of origin in order to be granted a permit.

the applicant comes from a country with great potential for emigration.reference is made to the economic and social conditions in the applicant's home country. further, the applicant is young, unmarried and without children.

the applicant has not documented a particular connection to norway.

please i plan to appeal the case but i do not know to go about this
On what ground are you appealing the decision?

Thank you for your response, based on your answer,i'll opt for hotel reservation. I've denied twice but during those times,i was not married and didn't have any kids. I'm married now and will like to apply with my daughter,i pray to be granted this time around.I have 2 more questions to ask: 1 you talked about the calibre of the person inviting me,pls explain better. 2 what will I fill in the u.s contact information? Thank you.
Do you really need me to explain to you the meaning of calibre or quality?
Well, the circumstances of the person inviting you will be taken into consideration, they will look into his records: how s/he entered into the country, what s/he is doing in the country, what s/he had done in the past, the kind of job and how much s/he earns etc.

I'm happy to find this thread,My question is this: which of the two(2) is preferable to apply for a u.s tourist visa, an invitation from a known person over there or an hotel reservation? Your candid advice sir.

Any or both of them... but if using an invitation letter, it is important to consider the quality of the calibre of the person who is inviting you,

It is impossible for you to get a Shengan visa in the UK, unless you are a british citizen.
You must get both visas in your home country.
Actually, British citizens do not require a visa to any normal country in the world.
Well, a person with a UK residence permit can apply for a Schengen visa from the UK, and a person who holds a permit due to marriage to an EU citizen can travel to any Schengen state without a visa provided that his Residence Permit indicates that he is a family member of an EU citizen or, he has a marriage certificate to present to the airline staff.

Note: In some cases, airline staff might want to know whether you are traveling with, or you are going to meet your (EU citizen) family member, but whatever answer that you give them is fine as they have no way of knowing where your family member is: if a person is unreasonable enough to voluntarily give them the hint that their travel has nothing to do with their family member, then, he could be stopped.
