Hello Fellow Gurus.

Early this year i made a promise to myself, to end the year with an IT skill that will atleast get me an internship and also land a Job in the subsequent year.
After following this forum for a while, i started learning Backend Dev with PHP, but i spent a month learning CSS and HTML.

I also started networking with fellow tech enthusiast in my locality, someone very close to me sent me a link to apply for Google Andela Developers Scholarship, they offer only two courses mainly Android dev and GCP, i selected the GCP and i was selected.

To be honest i enjoy Cloud Computing even though i'm still a novice i find it easy to grab the concepts, i also make sure i got 100% in all the GCP labs i take and yesterday i took the IQ test and qualified for the second phase, the program has 3 phases and Project phase, then lastly a certification phase.

I also enrolled in the same course on google partner skill boost which also comes with a free certification.

Now the main issue is, i applied for Meta Digital Marketing Scholarship on ACN around March this year, infact i have forgotten about it sef I got a mail yesterday that i was selected with a link to the courses on Coursera, Which also comes with a Coursera cert and also Meta Cert and some perks upon completion.

Is it possible to run both courses at the same time? Or i should just concentrate on my GCP learning journey? I am just confused right now. I dont want to just let the Meta Opportunity go just like that.

Please Gurus your opinion is needed. The Meta Marketing course will end in October while the GADS program is going to end Dec/Jan

yes it is possible. it all depends on how you create time. For instance like myself now, I also enrolled for GADS GCP and Android Development on seperate accounts. I am also enrolled in June Cohort of ALX Full Stack Software Engineering. Just yesterday, I applied to Google SSA Machine Learning Bootcamp. That is all Multitasking. We all have 24 hours in a day so it depends on how one utilizes it.

Yeah there is a limit per IP address when downloading using the web platform but with the Megasync Desktop App, it is unlimited and you can pause and resume downloads just like in IDM

Nothing like Stone age Pattern bro, Learning can be achieved in many ways. Just follow what works for you. I still take notes in my jotter to make reference when needed. Sure Google and Stack overflow is there but having some diary is not a bad idea. I am currently learning Alx Full Stack Web Development and I take paper notes cos I feel its important to keep track of new stuff o learn.

For mobile application I don't think so... unless you'd MOD your desktop and add extra RAM and improve processor.


For web apps... yes... web apps don't need your system to have huge RAM or spec to compile and run your code.

But to code with ease in either Web or Mobile/desktop related apps... you'd need a system that's fast

Rightly said, I am currently using a Desktop PC to learn. Its a Dell Optiplex 330 Tower. I had to upgrade the ram to its max which is 4 Gig Ram to support windows 10. its an old PC of 160 Gig HDD but it's currently serving me as I am on a tight budget too. I am currently doing ALX SE Course and since they have a sandbox to practice and submit tasks, that desktop go serve me wella till I save up cash for a good laptop. I am also doing Google Android Developer Course on Plural sight with Andela but I won't dare install Android Studio for that Desktop. Just VS Code, Git for now. so if you want buy desktop, try go for ones that can carry up to 8 Gig Ram

It works on mobile well if you do the following
1. Write a responsive CSS code using media query
2. Make it a progressive web app (PWA) by including a service worker file and a manifest.json file in your project root.

If you want to turn your web app to a mobile without writing a separate codebase (in kotlin,swift, reactnative or flutter) then turn your app to PWA using no 2. above. You can submit your app to the app store. Progressive web apps (PWAs) are installable on mobile devices and they are also submittable to play store. This approach is good if you want your web app and mobile app to behave same way but that is not always the case.

You are very right. Service Worker is a good way to go using same codebase

I have been thinking about the best way to bootstrap the transitioning of web2 developers to web3. The pathways that appear to me are;

1) Target mid/senior-level developers and provide them will resource and contact hours that allow them to gain web3 knowledge. This model will function to train the trainer. This category of developers will have a shorter learning curve making the process easier.
2) Target beginners/junior level devs. This will require more time commitment and resources.

The learning approach will be hands-on coding. Building and learning and making mistakes.

Feedback from the community will be great.
