Shodan's RTSP search and web crawl protocol patterns will always turn up unguarded victims for mischievous malevolent minds to prey on. Can you imagine your house cams getting remotely monitored and controlled by some sadistic deviant sociopath with incredible hacking skills?

On Shodan, I believe everything that has it's good side, also got it's bad side.

From inception, one of the reasons Shodan was primarily designed was for Government agencies and Cybersecurity experts to use to monitor various devices (IOT) that are vulnerable to cyber attacks. And in turn secure them.
However, as always. The Unethical guys will always find such to prey on. So as much as youve got your ip and vulnerable, it's pretty easy for them to use your device as a bot. I never pride their hacking skills for once. Trust me some of them dont even know what they do. Research has shown that. (That will be a story for another day)

Remember the DDOS Attack on Krebs On Security last year. It was the biggest of its kind before DYN and OVH attacks. Research was made by security experts, and it was found that those attackers got their vulnerable IOT devices from Shodan.

Trust me when I say the future of Ransomware attacks will be based more on IOT devices. With IOT devices gaining grounds, attackers are gaining more territories.

Even though it's responsible for one of the problems we have in the Cyberworld today. That's why it's so easy for anyone to be an hacker, cos those exploits are dumped on the internet. Thanks, but no Thanks to Wikileaks and a couple of others.

The irony of it all is that, most of these vulnerabilities exploited by these hackers are gotten from the various Security agency leaks. Like the CIA leaks and all.

Look at the recent ransomware attack (Wannacry) even though it was a Microsoft SMB Protocol Vulnerabilty that was exploited, it was also linked to the leaked NSA Malware and Cyber trick that Wiki leaks revealed recently.

So imagine when we say, the Global world (Internet) may be taken down by some bunch of black hat guys, they just may be using the Goverment tools against its Citizens. How sad!

As per Mobile Security, trust me there's still a long way to go in ensuring Compliance and Permissions granted. Especially Android. Playstore has become a dumpsite for amateur and insecure apps.
