Mrs Njideka Nwaigwe was the spokeswoman for the women who protested last Sunday in Awka, Anambra state capital, about the conduct of the election and Ngige's dismal performancein the election.
Mrs Nwaigwe narrated her story at Aroma junctionlate Sunday evening after they finished the Protest rally assignmentAwka.
She recounted how she was getting ready to go to church when her neighbourcalled her that the bus has come to take them to Awka for protest rally.
She was told thateach individual willing to go will receive N5,000 cash and APC party uniform. She hurriedly tookoff her church clothes and rushed to the venue and they were taken to Awka. Inside the bus, they were educatedon what to do by one man who kept on talking all through the drive from Ezinifite to Aroma.
He kept on telling them to roll on the floorand shout and cry, to rain abuses on Jega and INEC and Peter Obi. He said that they will be watching for who performedthe best as the person will get extra N2,000. "This was what brought us to Awka", she added.
"Now, we were paid N2,000 on reaching Awka instead of N5,000 and most of us did not have the vehicle to go back to our various towns." - Hope For Nigeria. [/b]

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commended the people of Anambra state for the peaceful and orderly conduct of last Saturday’s governorship election.
The party also commended President Goodluck Jonathan for providing adequate security and the enabling environment for credible, free and fair election in the state in spite of any perceived hitch(es).
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh in a statement on Sunday said the party is satisfied that despite the massive importation of thugs and plots by the All progressives Congress (APC) to introduce violence to disrupt and rig the election, the process was conducted peacefully.
“The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) hereby commends President Goodluck Jonathan for providing adequate security and the enabling environment for the conduct of credible, free and fair governorship election in
Anambra state last Saturday in spite of any perceived hitch(es)
“In the same vein we commend the entire people of Anambra state and all stakeholders who played key roles in ensuring peaceful and orderly conduct of the process.
“While we now await the officialresult, we wish to express our satisfaction that the election was conducted without disturbances, despite the massive importation of political thugs by the All progressives Congress (APC) as well as their heinous plots to introduce violence to disrupt and rig the poll having discovered that they have
been rejected by the people.
“We also commend the candidate of our great party, Comrade Tony Nwoye for his resilience, grass root appeal and credible outing which brought him to the forefront in the race despite having only two weeks to campaign. This is evident in the results so far released in which he roundly defeated the candidate of the APC who has been campaigning for four months before our candidate. The PDP is indeed happy with Comrade Tony Nwoye’s performance so far.

Chief Willie Obiano, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in last Saturday’s governorship election is set to be declared winner of the election.
Obiano was leading in 20 local government areas results received so far . But INEC has deferred declaration of all the results till when the results from Idemili North Local Government Area are collated.
A rerun was held in 65 wards in Idemili North on Sunday. Election was cancelled in the 65 wards because election materials could not be delivered there on Saturday.
But three political parties and their candidates have already called for the cancellation of the election, alleging widespread irregularities.
The parties are the Peoples Democratic Party, the Labour Party and All Progressives Congress, which also boycotted the rerun declared in the 65 polling units in Idemili North Local Government Area on Sunday.
The candidates for the three parties, Tony Nwoye, Ifeanyi Ubah and Chris Ngige, at a joint press conference later in the day rejected the conduct of the election.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance however praised the conduct of the election and said INEC had fulfilledits promise to make the election the best it had ever conducted.
“We are satisfied with the way INEC has conducted this exercise so far. We are thoroughly satisfied with conduct of the security agencies,” the National Chairman of the party, Chief Victor Umeh, said.
Umeh accused those that questioned the credibility of the election of not being agents of the truth, who were only complaining because it had become clear to them that they would lose.
He said all the reports on the election were positive, saying there was no single report of violence as the police and army were at alert.
On the allegations that APGA rigged the process with INEC, Umeh said, “APGA will never rig election in this state. We believe in due process. We believe in the rule of law.”
Lamenting the way the election was conducted, Ngige said, “As we speak, I weep for Nigeria. I weep for this country called Nigeria. It is a country of great hope.
“But this generation of Nigerians does not want to bequeath anything good to the future generation. We want to keep them in a quagmire so that our children will ask, ‘why did they bring us here.?’
“INEC has taken one step forward in 2011 and three steps backwards in 2013. We do not know if Iwu’s INEC is better than this INEC.”

warned that it will not accept the results of
today’s governorship election in Anambra
State unless there is voting in all local
governments areas, especially in the party's
strongholds of Idemili North and South, as
well as Akwa South. In a statement issued in
Lagos by its Interim National Publicity
Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party
also condemned the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) for its
“apparently-contrived logistics nightmare”
that has left thousands of voters unable to
exercise their franchise, and demanded the
immediate removal of the “incompetent and
conniving” Resident Electoral Commissioner
for Anambra, Prof. Chukwuemeka Onukogu.
APC said it was totally astonished to learn that
INEC has confirmed that materials meant for
Idemili North Local Government, which has
180,000 voters, have been hijacked, without
saying who hijacked the ballot papers and
why, and without explaining why the
materials meant for strongholds of the All
Peoples Grand Alliance and the Peoples
Democratic Party were not hijacked. Equally
astonishing, the party said, is the fact that
the voter registers for Idemili South, the
direct Local Government of the APC
candidate, Dr. Chris Ngige, did not contain
the names of voters in the local government,
despite the assurances of INEC Chairman
Attahiru Jega. subsequently petitioned
INEC and the Commission assured us that the
same person will not be allowed to conduct
subsequent election. Alas, he was left in place
to do another damage to INEC as an
institution through his glaring incompetence
and partiality, which have seriously affected
the credibility of this governorship election,''
the party said.
