Well known Kidnapper Kingpin, popularly known as 'Shege' was arrested in a sting operation following intelligence gathering by the gallant men of the NSCDC on the 8th of October 2024 at about 2000hrs in his hideout in Wamba Local Government Area of the state. Shede and Mohammed Lawal are the brain behind several abductions in Nasarawa Eggon, Akwanga and Wamba communities, also, in Shendam, Kurgwi in Plateau state and part of Bauchi state. They have confessed to the crime and will be charge to court for possible prosecution. A serial rapist, Ali Yakubu, was arrested for defiling a 8 years old girl, in Bukan Sidi Lafia Nasarawa State. The suspect confessed to the crimes and is currently facing investigation after which he will be charge to court of competent jurisdiction for prosecution. The Command arrested two suspects Kabiru Idris 27years 'm' and Mohammed Ndamu Shuaibu 22years in Shabu development area in connection with the vandalism of high tension poles in Lafia. The suspects were caught in the act, and stolen items were recovered. "Commandant of the NSCDC Nasarawa State Command *Muhammed Kabiru Ingawa* is committed to ridding the state of criminal elements. Ismaila Abdullahi* has ordered the deployment of Two thousand and Two Hundred and Fifteen (2,215) Officers and Men across various Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, worship centers, celebration venues, parks, recreational centers, and other strategic points, as part of efforts at ensuring the safety of lives and property during, before, and after the forthcoming Easter celebration. The suspects, Godiya Ayuba, visited his two cousin sisters in Revival Thunder International Secondary School in Obi local government area of Nasarawa State. The Spokesman, said, the suspect visited two of his cousin sisters at the above-mentioned school in Obi LGA of the state, requesting them to indicate if there are any challenges thy are facing in school? They told him there is none except for the charcoal they have already told there father, whom he promised to bring by the weekend. The suspect Godiya Ayuba insisted that he will provide them with the charcoal, but they should follow him to the town to get it for them, they told him that it is not allowed to go out of the school compound without the knowledge of the school authority, he gladly and nonchalantly requested for their permission from the teacher on duty who granted it to him since they have identified him as their cousin brother. While going to the town, the suspect have to allow the youngest sister to go back to school indicating that the eldest will met her in school, that was when the suspect diverted the elder sister to an unknown location and forcefully had his way on her. The suspect ride his motorcycle and left the victim, not knowing where she was, A good Samaritan came across her and took her the the nearby village, Tudun Adabu along Obi local government area of the state. The victim narrated her ordeal to the her uncles where her father was informed and the suspect was arrested. In the same vein, a suspect Habibi Mohammed 25yrs from Gombe State, but resides at Lafia east, in Lafia the State Capital defile a 4yrs of toddler, in Lafia east. The 4 years old survivor (Name withheld), was seen crying profusely by a woman, when accosted, she narrated what the suspect, Habibi Mohammed so to her, when he was interrogated he confessed to the crime and was brought to the Command for further investigation. NSSRCC expresses confidence in capabilities of communities in supporting success of safe Schools project The National Safe Schools Response Coordination Centre (NSSRCC), has expressed confidence in the capabilities and contributions of members of schools' communities, and called on them to assist in the protection of educational institutions sited in their domains. Speaking at a press briefing at Doma town in Doma Local Government Headquarters, Nasarawa State, as part of activities preceding a sensitisation workshop for Strategic Stakeholders in the North-Central Geopolitical Zone on the activities of the National Safe Schools Response Coordination Centre and Safe Schools Programme in Nigeria, scheduled to hold this Thursday at the Government House, Lafia, Commander of the Centre, CSC Tersoo Shaapera PhD, described such collaboration by the public as crucial for the success of the Safe Schools implementation project. In his words, "We must all unite against anything that will affect teaching and learning process in any school whether the ones in urban, semi-urban and rural areas.Our interest at the NSSRCC is to ensure the protection of schools in remotest villages, border communities and those in city centers." He continued that, "with support and collaboration of all and sundry, I believe the goal is realizable. The operation, which was carried out by the gallant men of the Command, after credible information was received about their nefarious activities in the state, which lead to the dead of one Mr. Musa at Rimi-Uku Doma road in Lafia, on Sunday 12th November, 2023 by suspected cultist. The State Commandant Abbas Bappa Muhammad msgt, deployed men of the intelligence department across the nooks and crannies of Lafia metropolis with the sole purpose of smoking and fishing out these criminals, whose activities in recent times is worrisome as residents no longer sleep with their eyes close. In his words, ‘Cultism has been a major concern in Nigeria, with its negative impact on the society, especially among young people. The victim, (Name Witheld) 4yrs f' who hailed from Angwan Magaji along Emir Palace Lafia, was seen crying profusely with blood stain all over her, when accosted by her mother she narrated what happened. The suspect, Ibrahim Hashimu 18yrs m' was immediately apprehended and brought to NSCDC office for questioning, he agreed committing the henious crime and pleaded for mercy. In the same vein, 3 suspects Yakubu Ossan 55yrs m', Mustapha Ibrahim 24yrs m' a scrap Dealer and Hussain Yakubu 21yrs an Okada rider, were arrested by the men of the Anti-Vandal squad in collaboration with the men of the Nasarawa Eggon Division for vandalizing 33 kV high tension cable, in Mada Station, Nasarawa Eggon Local government area of Nasarawa State. The prime suspect Yakubu Ossan, diverted the said cables when heavy rain destroyed over 10 poles, that were meant to be taken to the house of the District head for safe keeping, in Mada Station. One Aisha Saidu 22yrs f' and her brother in-law (still atlarge) was arrested for Grievious Battery and Assaulting her step children in Lafia. Bruises were seen all over the victims who were rushed to a medical facility for medical attention. Investigation is on-going after which the suspects will be charge to competent court of jurisdiction for prosecution.
