Former minister of information Labaran Maku yesterday failed in his bid to secure the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to run for governor of Nasarawa State, after the holder of the ticket declared his resolve to run for the office.

Maku had led a delegation of his supporters for discussions with APGA governorship candidate, Matthew Umbugaku, at the latter’s office in Abuja, on the feasibility of Umbugaku handing over the party’s governorship ticket to Maku in the forthcoming general elections.

However, in yesterday’s deliberations, the APGA flag bearer was said to have stated his intention to run for the office, insisting that he was not ready to relinquish his slot.

Umbugaku’s spokesman, Mannix Ebhota, told reporters that the APGA candidate was ready to kick-start campaigns on januarry 5, starting with sensitisation tour of communities and towns throughout the state. On his boss’ chances of winning, he noted that Umbugaku had a lot of developmental programmes which will be unveiled during the campaign, saying he is the best candidate for the state’s top job.

Umbugaku is credited with establishing APGA in the state and was elected unopposed in the party’s governorship primary on December 9, 2014, while Maku lost the governorship ticket of his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), coming in second place.

Since then, Maku has reportedly been seeking an alternative political platform to fulfil his ambition to govern his state, after resigning from President Goodluck Jonathan’s cabinet. He was said to have unsuccessfully tried to run on Labour Party’s platform.

The whole exercise lasted eight ( days which amounts to 16k plus 3k for three (3) days training.

The Adhoc staff they recruited for the voters registration exercise haven't been paid the 2, 000 naira per day they earned with hard work.
How can people work and not get paid.

So after the 4 weeks exercise then they throw these people back to the streets without paying them.
Risking their lives, working all day, sweaty in the dust under the sun.

I don't know where you get your info from bro but we at Plateau State have been paid and INEC even paid the three (3) days training fee today 28/11/2014. I pray they pay you guys soon though just in case you've not been paid.

you can't judge guys in general because of a single act... There are good and bad in both sexes and not guys alone. For instance my ex girlfriend was wild and was always carried away by luxurious things, treated me like shiiiiiiiit at times though we both loved each other for over four years. Am saying this because despite all she did to me it will be unfair for me to describe all girls as wicked and stone-hearted by a single act of wickedness.
