Swithoni:The three specified means of subsistence by the embassy are; 1. Blocked Account 2. Sponsorship Letter and 3. Scholarship (which I think your inquiry falls under) I don't think the embassy specified the particular scholarship or scholarship body that will be honoured by them. So I think you should contact the embassy directly to inquire if a local government scholarship will be ok. Personally I think it can fly sha. Scholarship is scholarship so long the terms and conditions are met. So look for a way to inquire from the embassy sis. 2 Likes |

StarBoy54:A lot of people seem to think your rejections are as a result of you using an English proficiency letter rather than using a proficiency test. Personally I don't think that is true because a lot of people here have gotten several admission letters without even taking either TOEFL or IELTS, myself inclusive. Someone even said he got admission to one of the schools that denied you admission with a proficiency letter and not a proficiency test. So I think you should examine the whole of your materials again to be sure there is something you are not doing wrong. I'll advise you critically examine your motivation letter and be certain it can win you a Grammy. Again, who are those you use as referees? Are they professors/doctors or younger lecturers? You should look for the former if you have been using the latter. I want to ask again what the content of the proficiency letter you area using looks like and which body issued it. These are some of the things you should really look at. You have a good CGPA and drive and that is enough to give you admissions which is why you must examine all of your credentials. Always use your IELTS for subsequent applications to give you an edge but I must tell, if something is bad from your other credentials then not IELTS will save you. We are constantly competing for space with the best brains from naija and the world in general and so schools will look out for the best candidates that's why you must make sure you are getting it right. I hope I made sense sha 9 Likes |

ajoks533:It is not a must to take a proficiency test. I have 2 admission letters already and I didn't take a proficiency test. Just ensure you read the English Proficiency Requirements of any/every course you want to apply for because some schools actually specify if they want only a proficiency test or letter of proficiency. There were some schools I didn't apply to because they require(d) TOEFL/IELTS. Bottom line is that it is not mandatory you take any of those tests although it boosts your chances sha oooo. Take it if you have the time to study and the money to pay for it. |

saxony2018:If the admission notification came attached as a PDF file then go ahead and use it. So long the mail states that you have been admitted for a particular course and enrolment starts so so date. Quickly open a Fintiba account now (fintiba.com) because you need blocked account info to request for appointment. Again if you already have your UK loan document then use that documentation in place of Fintiba. I'm sure people with updated info on this will enlighten us both. While you are waiting for updated information kindly goto the German consular webpage for the email address to request a date. You need your admission letter, blocked account/scholarship info and bio data page of your passport to request a date 1 Like |

peemyke:I know someone that went for interview last week. He didn't say anything about a test so don't work yourself up about it. Also, I think that test thing depends on what you are going to study especially for Mathematics related courses from what I've seen before. In recent times I've not seen anyone talk about test before interview. Another friend of mine will go for interview in June so let's see what happens. NB: All what I have stated are not verified facts o. They are my own words and opinion. |

mamuzoOMAH:Dear UNIBEST Graduate. Abeg don't do GRE ASAP o. Spend between 2-4 months to prepare for it so you can ace it. I'll advice you go for NYSC and use that 12 months to research about schools, study for GRE, prepare your supplementary materials and apply by 2019. I know say we from UNIBEN no dey carry last but for this matter you gats study to show yourself approved o. Think am 1 Like |

fodukes:I'm actually new to this but from the little I've learnt about the process is this; 1. Open the blocked account with fintiba or another bank 2. When you receive your blocked account details you then request for an appointment whether you have funded the account or not. 3. Fintiba will send you 2 documents but what you need is the 2-page document titled "Make the Transfer" 4. Send your international passport, Make the transfer document and your admission letter 5. Get your interview date and prepare This is what I've done so far. I'm sure gurus can comment better on this 2 Likes |

okpala95:It isn't necessary to write your email on the body of the mail since that's what you are contacting them with. I sent my request 8:43 same Wednesday and got a reply with my interview date 47 minutes later. But wait till Monday as advised because I didn't expect their feedback to be quick. What I did was this... I titled the subject of the mail thus "APPLICATION FOR A VISA APPOINTMENT DATE" I also wrote on the body of the mail thus Dear German Consulate, Please find attached my personal details and documents in consideration for the subject request. If you don't hear back from them next week you can reapply the same way I did ( this is based on the assumption that you didn't do what I just mentioned o). I hope they get back to you though 3 Likes 1 Share |

iwriterng: Don't use "dot" in place of decimals. Instead you use a comma. For instance if your CGPA is 3.55 then you input it as "3,55" Take note of the comma. I hope this works 2 Likes |
