A blue Peugeot 104 stolen in the heart of France’s Champagne country in 1979 is being reunited with its owner — 38 years later — after French police pulled it, in surprisingly good shape but crawling with crayfish, from a murky swamp.

The owner was stunned when officers tracked her down via family and neighbors, said Lt. Col. Pierre-Damien Igau, of the gendarmerie in Chalons-en-Champagne.

“She was surprised that we contacted her because even for her this was very ancient history,” he said. “She appeared quite moved by the fact that we had found her car so long after the fact and especially that we had made the effort to contact her.”

Menard said he doesn’t expect the little Peugeot will ever run again, because the rusty engine block was muddied up.

But he said they scooped up the crayfish that had been living inside and freed them into a canal.

“At least they get a second life,” he said.

Amnesty International in one of its report claimed that hundreds of Nigerians were being held in secret detention centers across the country.

However, Fani-Kayode in a tweet via his social media said those in secret detention across the country were in their thousands.

“Amnesty Int. says hundreds of people are being held in secret detention in Nigeria. It is not hundreds but thousands. Buhari is a tyrant,” he wrote.

Imo State Governor, Govt. Rochas Okorocha has described those protesting demolition of the Ekeukwu market in the state capital, which resulted to the death of a 10-year-old boy, as non-indigenes.

Some leaders from three Senatorial zones of the state had protested the demolition of the market, killing of the 10-year-old boy and other alleged atrocities of the governor on Wednesday in Abuja, calling on the state House of Assembly to move for the immediate impeachment of Okorocha.
But reacting in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, sam Onwuemeodo, the governor said, “The fact is that those behind the press conference in Abuja today (yesterday) or involved in protest over the relocation of Ekeukwu Market are not Owerri indigenes but few politicians from the state mostly of the PDP extraction who are only keen in coming back to power in the state in 2019 after Imo people had voted them out in 2011 and also voted against them in 2015.

“The Owerri indigenes are here in the state and are happy with the level of development in Owerri courtesy of Governor Rochas Okorocha.

“Afterall, the PDP governments in the state for 12 years had tried to relocate Ekeukwu Market but could not do so because they lacked the political will and they were not keen in developing the state.”

“After the fiery disagreement, his wife decided to spend the night with her friends only to come back the following morning to the lifeless bodies of her sons,” Gababa told The Star on phone.

Kelvin Juko, a neighbour, described the suspect as hostile and occasionally violent towards his wife.

“The two have been fighting for a while now but we never expected that things would escalate to murder,” he said.

Gababa said they are investigating the incident and the suspect will be arraigned on Thursday.

The boys were five and eight years old; their bodies were taken to Taveta District Hospital mortuary.

A ZVISHAVANE man thoroughly beat up his mother and destroyed property because she refused to pay his rent.
This man named “Presley Njanje” 26 years old reportedly told his mother Rosemary Njanje who is 54 that it was her duty to look after him since he was her child. So when she failed to pay his rent she was beaten up.

Feeling humiliated, she got him arrested on assault and malicious damage to property charges.

The court heard that on 22 July, Njanje proceeded to his mother’s place and upon arrival he started demanding money to pay his rent.

He reportedly went wild when she told him that she had no money. He smashed windows before beating her up.


As if that was not enough, he also kicked the French door and broke the glass.

Realising that his mother was lying down helplessly, he stole her Samsung mobile phone worth $150.

The damaged property was valued at $33.

Njanje appeared before Zvishavane magistrate Shepherd Mjanja facing three counts namely assault, malicious damage to property and contempt of court.

Sometime in September 2016, a peace order was granted, barring him from going to his mother’s place so he had violated it.

For assault he was slapped with three months imprisonment or $100 fine, for malicious damage to property it was four months of which three months were suspended on condition he pays for damaged property and for contempt of court it was three months imprisonment or $100 fine.
