I have 2 different BSc degrees from 2 different universities. My Msc degree will be ready in November, but that is a long time to wait, if I can still get 441 evaluating 2 Bsc degrees. elfmann: |

Thanks Taiwofola. I am now hopeful, though evaluating my second degree will give me a total crs of 441. I don't know if I can submit 2 different ECAS - WES and IQAS for different degrees or try my luck again with WES and hope they evaluate the Madonna University degree. Hoping for your valuable inputs dear seniors. taiwofola: |

Thanks Mrs. O. I enjoy your blog so much. Keep up the good work - Your writing skill is superb, I would think you scored 9 in IELTS writing. hahahahttp://www.nairaland.com/faces/grin.png I actually have a WES evaluation report for my UK degree so I wanted to upgrade it so I can receive points for "2 or more degrees" that's why I was considering using WES. Can I use ICAS for my Madonna University Degree, while I have WES for the other degree? Can I submit 2 evaluation reports? Please anybody can answer as well. Thanks a lot impish: |

Thanks for all the encouragements from this thread. I just got my IELTS results - LSRW- 8,8,7.5,7 with CRS score now at 409. What are my chances of getting NOI from Ontario for NOC 1111 - Accountants and Auditors, since it was mostly IT Nocs that received NOI in June. Also, how do I search this thread for specific information without reading through each page, this is because I need info about WES evaluation of Madonna University Certificates. In 2014, WES said that they do not evaluate academic records from Madonna universities, and so declined evaluating mine, but I heard recently that they do now. I don't know how true this is. Please can anyone confirm this? or show me how to search this thread fo such info. Thanks very much in advance. |

Hi Teefinix, sorry just seeing your post. If you are in Brampton, then you can use Dr. Abou Seido, he accepts cash payment because I paid cash. He is on the same building with Dr .Ayodele at 2250 Bovaird Drive East, Suite 503. Brampton, ON L6R 0W3. With phone number 905-595-4960. Also, Brampton Civic hospital accepted me as a cash patient. MY first appointment was at 34 weeks. Just call or ask your host to call. I really don't understand the other doctors' rationale of not accepting cash patient, that sounds like discrimination to me because not everybody in Canada needing medical attention need to have a health card. Maybe you should ask them why, because as medical professionals they should not but barriers to the category of patients they should give medical care to. Teefinix3: 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Hi Bestbuyer, this nah jamb questions o. lols 1) I haven't had any of my babies in US so I cant say if its saner, but I think Canada as a country is much saner if you consider the happenings in US compared to those reported in Canada. 2) Yes, its cheaper. I compared the cost I received from a US gynae and that of Canada before I chose to go to Canada. Also, cad exchange rate is lower than USD. Currently @240 to a Naira as against N365/USD, parallel market rate of course. 3) You don't need to mention me, I did not mention anybody when I called his office, but it appears he has delivered a lot pple from this part of the world based on my discussions with him. He is a VERY NICE DR, I must say. I loved every appointment I had with him. 4) I did not consider any other place since I was already booked with Dr Abou who works in Brampton Civic Hospital. Yes, it is a very big Hospital and the nurses are nice. 5) Well I don't know how much you would need to apply for the visa, I did mine last year sept. and a lot has changed since then including exchange rates, and besides I applied alone not with hubby and kids. 6) I used Airfrance and there was no hassle or anything, nobody even asked how far gone I was though I was 36weeks with huge baby bump. It was a smooth flight but I think it was a little bit expensive, I paid about 800k just for myself, but check other airlines and their pregnancy policies before making your choice. 7) Again I don't know the difference. But I think my stay in US and Canada is about the same for me, except the extreme winter I experienced in Canada, It was crazy. Our country has best weather, I couldn't wait to come back. lols. Your travel history looks fine, but again, it's the immigration officer's call for this matter. 9) please check my earlier post for details - I used Hotstepper's contact. 10) No, I stayed with a family. But Hostepper may be able to help, you can contact her on this. I hope I passed the jamb questions. lols. I wish you well in the process, but please don't forget to pray, that was my key factor in my entire success story. Enjoy your day. bestbuyer: 3 Likes 1 Share |

hi Teefinix, Sorry I did not go through a family doctor, but you can use any walk in Clinic, there are loads of them in Brampton and they will refer you to the Dr. of your choice. There is even one in the same premises where Dr. Abou Seido's office is, just near the Brampton Civic Hospital. Its quite surprising because they not ask me to go through any family Dr. but that shouldn't be a problem. Check Dr Abou's address online, I am not with one of their appointment cards at the moment to confirm the address to you. Teefinix3: 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Hello dear, I stated that I was going to have my baby there and stated reasons. Please search for my earlier posts I did a lengthy post on that. I cannot advise that stating that you want to have your baby there will always grant you the visa, I had a couple of things that might have worked for me which i'm not sure what exactly cos I had a lot of personal reasons on my purpose of travel letter which may not apply to you, like my medical history, where I work and the fact that my hubby and older kids were not travelling with me, plus I had a host in Canada etc. I don't know the cost of Vaginal birth, but it shouldn't be very much different from a C-section delivery. You can read through earlier posts, some people had their babies vaginally and state their costs here as well. [quote author=rekiya84 post=56705421]Hello thanks for ur post it have helped me a lot would want to be clear on this points hope u don't mind me asking... did you state you were pregnant in ur application if yes what reasons did u give to enable them grant u the visa secondly do u ve any idea of virginal delivery cost thanks a lot hoping to get ur reply soon [Qquote author=Virt post=56461366]Hello everyone! |

Hi, I went with the following lab tests List of lab tests 1) Strep B 2) Blood sugar test – I did OGTT instead of fasting blood sugar because I usually have big babies 3) Hepatitis B 4) HIV 5) Blood work (Genotype, blood group, count etc) 6) ultrasound results 7) Glucose test. Yes, 2 weeks is enough to process baby's papers, but plan for longer, cos it may not always be the case. I got my baby's birth certificates one week after application, Passport in 3 days (because I had a flight ticket showing that I was traveling in 3 days as at the date of passport application), got the emergency travel certificate in 2 days ( its usually within 5 days, but because my travel date was close he expedited action, but he did not like such close call though). When you get the birth certificate, you can process the passport and ETC simultaneously, however birth certificate comes first b4 any other paper work. You will need a notarized letter from the father of the baby to the Nigerian High commission in Ottawa if the father is not physically present in Canada (Pls check website for things to submit for ETC). As I said in the earlier post, the father if not present in Canada will go to Canadian High commission in Lagos or Abuja to sign sth which will be faxed to Canada passport office, b4 the baby's passport is processed. So these are the kind of things that may delay the process, especially if the father does not live in Lagos or Abuja, he or she will have to travel there. Regards, Teefinix3: 4 Likes 3 Shares |

Hi, You can download the application form through the link below. On the last page of the form, there is a checklist of things to submit during the application. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/apply-how.asp If you read my earlier post on visa application (a couple of pages back) I think there are few things that could help you as well. You can put your questions here so that others can learn as well. Travelling at 30 weeks is okay. For the application, you can go with paper application as it appears faster in response time than online. I got my passport back in 30days using paper application. From earlier posts here, it appears having somebody in Canada boosts your chances of being granted visa especially since you will be staying there for sometime for child delivery. it will cost more using a hotel so maybe you will have to show more prove of financial capability. I had somebody in Canada, so I cant say much in this regard. Not going with hubby and child too will form part of your prove of home ties, ensure to include this in your purpose of travel letter. I would advise you start the application process as soon as you can. sinead15: 1 Like |

Yes, Cost is in CAD. That's the Canadian currency, right? I was 34 weeks at my first appointment. From what I read here, at 34-35 weeks one can still get a Dr. however, it gets more difficult if you are in later weeks, but nothing is impossible. I have not heard of anybody who was full term and was refused by a Dr. but it is better you travel at a reasonable stage in your pregnancy to avoid such. |

I don't know if there is any restriction on who drives as per with pregnancy or not. Hostepper or any Canada resident here should be able to advise accordingly. I'll respond to your PM. Fiwajoluwa: |

Hi Dear, They no longer give automatic health cards to babies born in Canada except the parents are resident in the country. The family Dr's fee was just affordable, some charge $60 - $100 per check up. Fiwajoluwa: |

Hello everyone! This is a follow up of my post, the earlier was on visa application. I arrived Canada in Feb, 2017 though Toronto Pearson International Airport. On arrival, the immigration officer asked why I was in Canada, I told him that I was on vacation and that I would also be having my baby there, he was taken aback when he heard I was planning to have my baby there, that he asked “you came here to have your baby?”, I repeated my earlier response. He stamped my passport and let me in. However, on going to claim my baggage, I was stopped by the border patrol officer when she saw my BIG BUMP and re-directed me to another room for further checks, I joined a line of other such people they re-directed to further interrogate their purpose of visit to Canada. I have never been interrogated like that in my life. I really don’t know where to start in the questions I was asked cos it will take a whole page, however, I responded honestly especially since I had indicated in my visa application that I intend to have my baby there. I told the officer who questioned me so. The following are some of the questions I was asked as I can recall. Why are you here in Canada? To have your baby? Why Canada? Who would you be staying with? What does the person do? Was she the one that arranged these whole stuff for you? Where does she live? Have you made any arrangement with a doctor here? Any medical report? Let me see. When is your appointment? Do you have travel insurance? Do you have a return ticket? Let me see it. How much do you have with you? Let me see it? Is your husband joining you? No. What do you do (work)? What position? You have an approved leave from your employer? Etc. can’t recall others cos they were leading questions, and your responses determines what next he would ask (Sorry including my responses above will make the post lengthy). After about 10mins or so, he approved for me to go. That room is where they return people if your purpose of visit is not satisfactory. He requested for documents from the Dr. in Canada, I told him that I don’t have but that I have that from my Dr. in Nigeria and he asked to see it and I gave him and he read through it same with other documents he requested for. He asked to see the cash after asking how much I was with, when I brought the envelope with the cash from my bag and was about bringing it out, he asked if the money was in the envelope, I told him yes, he said I could put it back (so he did not see the money) but it proved I had enough money to cover my medical bills and period of stay in Canada. Sourcing for Doctor I had read through the thread here and got the number of Dr Abou Seido of Brampton Civic hospital, I called his office while in Nigeria but they refused to book an appointment with me telling me they can’t give me an appointment until I arrived Canada, however, she told me the test results to come with including ultra sound scans. My friend in Canada helped me book the appointment cos I did not want delay in seeing the Dr. as I would be 34weeks when I arrive. On meeting Dr. Abou-seido, he said that for his patients from the 3rd world countries, he usually try to make sure they stay for just one night in the hospital since they would be paying out of pocket, if there are no complications during birth. I was so glad because that was why I chose to use him in the first place. Somebody had earlier posted how the Dr. helped her stay one night even with CS deliver and I decided to go for him. He actually helped me stay just for one night and It was my third CS. On the day of surgery he asked if I wanted to tie my tubes, I told him no (I’ve read about its side effects, so I wasn’t ready for such family planning. Lols) The following are the breakdown of my costs Doctor fees including epidural - $3,500 (His epidural Dr. is the best I have seen, I didn’t feel the process at all and it was done in less than 1 min. Hospital fees - $2000 for me, $600 for the baby per night Pre-op fees - $200 Circumcision fees (not in the hospital) - $250 Family Dr visit for baby checkup - $50 Birth Certificate (long and short) - $60 (got it in 1 week) Passport (expedited) - $107 (got it in 2 days) Nigerian Emergency travel document - $150 (got in 1 day) Hotstepper’s contact was amazing, he processed and posted the document to me same day, and I received it the following day!!! Total - $7,000 (including other small fees not mentioned above). I stayed with my friend so no transportation and feeding costs. I travelled alone, so my husband had to go to the Canadian high commission in Lagos to sign before the baby’s passport could be processed. Delivery at Brampton Civic hospital was very okay, no issues whatsoever, except that I had to pay 2 nights upfront after which they say they will refund the unutilized one night fee ($2,000). My friend used a her debit card to pay, so they said refund will be through cheque issuance but that if it was credit card, it would have been done immediately. We are expecting to get that back soon. I arrived Nigeria 2 weeks ago hassle free. I hope my experience will help somebody cos this thread helped me a lot from visa application to delivery to paper work etc. God bless you all - (By the way, I had the whole process committed to God in prayer, so don’t overlook this aspect at all, because it has been God’s doing not man). 29 Likes 4 Shares |

There are couple of dr's numbers posted earlier on this thread for Brampton Civic hospital, like Dr. Ayodele, Dr. Abou-seido etc. You could read back to get their numbers or get the number online (just google). I believe God will see you through, he has already done the first part - being granted a visa and getting into Canada without hitch, all in one week. Please share your POE experience as it will help others (Like what to expect - question wise etc.) Regards, Gracemom: 4 Likes 1 Share |

Sorry to hear! I guess the main issue is the insufficient funds. i hope your proposed length of stay in Canada was not too long, cos 5m may be insufficient to cover both yourself and hubby, medical expenses, accommodation (if booking hotel) etc. I think the growing forex rate against Naira is not helping matters. I applied alone, not with hubby. My hubby and kids at home were my major home ties since they were not coming with me, and i had title deeds of landed properties as well. I will be staying with a friend (and had a letter of invitation), so accommodation and possibly transportation cost were out of the question. My stated funds was basically for birthing (medical expenses)! 5m will barely cover the expenses if you consider the current parallel market rate. If it is not late, you could apply again with more funds and more evidence of home ties. My travel history is similar to yours, so i don't know why that should be an issue. iphiechuks: |

Hello dear, I had no letter from any Canadian Doctor on cost or fees or anything as they would only discuss with you when you arrive Canada. I only had a medical report from my Nigerian Hospital where I had my previous babies. I stated that I am going on vacation and also mentioned tourist places I would visit, I then added that I will be having my baby during my stay in Canada as well. I then gave reasons for my intention to birth there and stated how much I have to cover my medical expenses etc. The rest of the story is like I have previously stated in my earlier posts. I hope this helps. Please is there no current news on those who have birthed of recent. Please we need to be updated on recent costs, medical fees etc. Thanks all. pretty199: 2 Likes 1 Share |

Good morning all, Please which is the preferable/reliable method of payment of hospital and doctor's bills in Canada? Cash or Card? Also, which Nigerian bank card works better in Canada or do I have to open an account when I get there? I noticed to apply for birth certificate online, you will need to pay through card and possibly there are other payments that would require using card. Please your experienced advise will be very much appreciated. Thank you. |

iphiechuks: Like I said, there is no standard requirement in that regard, I chose to provide that because of what I stated in my letter. I don't know what you have stated in your letter and whether it requires any form of documentary evidence or not. I did not read anywhere that one must provide a medical report, I just did that based on my own discretion. I really cant say what the VO would want to see, but ensure you provide every other standard requirements. Other evidences outside the CIC requirements are just jara. 1 Like |

My "purpose of travel" letter had a lot of personal details, but there is a guide on what should be on the letter on the CIC website. The following points can also help though: 1) Who you are (your name and what you do) 2) Where you want to travel to and places you will visit 3) The duration of your stay (specific dates e. g 22nd Nov, 2016 to 30th Dec, 2016) 4) Travel history (if you have done other international travels before, if u have not, then no need for this point) 5) Where will you be staying (Address of the host or hotel to be used) - include proof of hotel booking for the stated period of stay or letter of invitation from your host. The evidence will have the address, so no need to include here, but you can if you want to. there is no particular standard for the letter. 6) How much do you have for the trip or intended travel plan (include proof of funds e.g bank statements, FD certificates etc. 7)Home ties (My family is not travelling with me, so I stated that my hubby and kids back home are my home ties, including my parents. Also stated that we have landed properties and included title deeds etc. ) Please note, I decided to do all of these so that I can prove all my points, not that it is compulsory. You could have other things to prove your home ties, I think its important. I had letter from my employer that I will be on vacation for that period and that I will definitely be returning to work. ( I also included payslips, promotion letter, all I could to make my letter persuasive. lols. Some where in the letter I stated that I would be having my baby there and then included my personal medical story which is why i want to have the baby in Canada. - (details cannot be stated here) and I also included a medical report from my hospital. (Like I said, this is not a standard requirement) EVERYTHING I SAID WAS TRUE and I provided documentary evidence for all my claims where necessary. I guess my purpose of travel was persuasive, so try and make yours persuasive but not beggary. You don't need to liquidate your fixed deposit, its a short term investment, so its not a problem, but also include your bank statement, maybe they will want to see the movement in your accounts for a certain period (3 months). I hope this helps. iphiechuks: 7 Likes 2 Shares |
