You will have to state all visa refusals for both you and your spouse. When you start filling the form you will see how the question is structured, and answering "No" may amount to misrepresentation. If I can recall fairly, they asked something like " Have you or your spouse ever been denied temporary resident visa bla bla bla.....to Canada or any other country." so you cant escape the " EVER".... kolade22: Hello Good people
I read on this trend that if someone was denied visa in any other country in the past, he or she has to state it when applying. My question is,
Is it applicable to the PA alone or Spouse has to state it too?
in my own case, i was denied USA visa 2 times in the past but they later approved my visitor's visa in my 3rd attempt, in this case, do i have to state no/yes?
i am confuse, pls good people of this forum should advise.
Thank y''all |

Many thanks @Blackbuddy, @Slowlybtsurely and everyone for your responses. it's been very helpful. I was very worried SlowlybtSurely: He will be allowed to start grade 1. As long as he turns 6 before or on the 31st of December of same year. Blackbuddy: I stand corrected, if a child will not be exactly 6 years or over by the first day of the school year, he will actually be allowed to start in grade 1 provided he's 6 by December 31 that year.. Apparently the September cut off is not so strict in Ontario. I appreciate the experiences shared below. |

Hello Landed seniors,
My question is with regards to schooling for kids in Canada. I understand that their elementary school calendar starts from 1st Sept to 30th June every year (based on Ontario education website), and Grade 1 is for 6year olds, but my son will only clock 6years a month plus after the resumption of the school session, that is Oct 22nd. Would they consider him for Grade 1 by that school session? or he will lose a year just because of a difference of one month.
I'll appreciate your valid contribitions.
Thanks. |

Thanks. vcole: Tax returns for the current year are filed between jan1 and april 30th of the following year. So tax returns for 2017 should be filed on or before april 30th 2018. If a pr landed in 2017 then s/he would file taxes next year. For child benefit, you don't need to have filed taxes if you are a newly landed immigrant, the form would explain to you how to declare your income prior to landing in Canada. |

Do you have the luxury of postponing your landing? say 3 months forward. That way you can attain 24months after 60days of landing. Apart from the above, I do not see another way around it. Santino1: Basically how to circumvent the G2 test and get a G licence with my Swiss licence. |

Did you file tax returns immediately you landed. I'll appreciate if you can give a little more detail on this. Thanks. adeza: My naija driver’s license will be 2years in January, I did the knowledge test and applied for exemption. God abeg o Do you have any past visa refusal? By the way, I got this response from another thread.... I don't think visa refusal should significantly affect the speed of processing times. Understanding what goes on at the Central Intake Office and the CPCs, from what I have read, they can decide to gather more information about your visa refusal if they feel it raises any questions as regards criminality, inadmissibility or security concerns. This may lengthen the processing time of your application. Also people from certain countries (Afghanistan, Pakistan etc) may undergo more scrutiny than others. A visa refusal from another country because you did not have sufficient funds or did not submit all required documentation etc will probably not call for many more additional checks and may therefore not increase the processing time. These guys have a databases where they can pull up visa approvals or refusals from other close countries like the UK and US and verify reasons for the refusal. I think what gets people stuck at NA2 is the transfer of files from the CIO to the Visa Offices. After NA2, your files are transferred to a visa office where the visa officer reviews the agent's (CIO) recommendations. Sometimes, the work load at the visa offices is heavy and it takes a while to treat. I hope this answers your question. ajiifixing: 102 days at NA2.

Wowwww 87days on NA2 It's well. Just prepare your other travel plans so that when PR finally comes, it would just be to book flight geebaby10: One US visa refusal and travel history of four countries. Trips to the UK alone can fill one passport but thankfully it wasn't up to 180 days cumulative. No UK refusal ever. File ended up in LVO. Been on NA2 since 16 August. That's about 87 days now. |

Thanks for your response @crazyinlove. 77days at NA2 is no child's play o . Was any of your past visa refusals from UK and is your VO London VO? I heard that if one has a past UK visa refusal, that he/she will be automatically assigned the London VO, how true can this be? crazyinlove: This theory is somewhat true but not totally true. I was in NA2 for 77days before moving to IP2 recently and I had 3 refusals in the past. I think other factors like expensive travel history (esp. to certain countries) can make one to stay in NA2 for long. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by Virt: 11:35am On Nov 13, 2017 |
Thanks for your response @Santino. Yeah, extensive travel is also one of the identified causes of delay, though I was just tailoring my enquiry to the factor that is of concern to me. There is a guy with 69 travels also at NA2, so you just dey follow the guy for back. . People actually asked if he was a pilot. lolls. But you now, work tins can take round the world. Santino1: I'm not answering your question because I haven't received PPR yet. This is just to offer another perspective.
A survey was done on some applicants that are delayed at the NA2 stage and most of them had one visa refusal or the other and indicated same in their application. Some of them have been on the same stage for 2 to 4 weeks and counting while their counterparts and those who applied after them have long received PPR
While this may be the case for most, It doesn't apply to me. I have never had a visa rejection before and this is my third week on NA2. I have travelled to about 26 countries in the last 6 years so I simply attributed the delay in NA2 to verification from those countries I have visited.
This is simply my theory as I have no way of knowing for sure why I'm stuck in NA2. |

Hi all,
Please how does past visa refusal from any country affect the timeline of processing one's PR application. A survey was done on some applicants that are delayed at the NA2 stage and most of them had one visa refusal or the other and indicated same in their application. Some of them have been on the same stage for 2 to 4 weeks and counting while their counterparts and those who applied after them have long received PPR. Their applications are still at CIO, Sydney and not yet assigned to any local visa office.
Please any experience of those who successfully got PPR with a visa refusal which they indicated in their application and what was their timeline like?
I appreciate your responses. |

I concur with this. Same challenge I had but I did same thing as Kontagious. I have a 7months old baby, but I selected English for him as we communicate to him in English and selected same native language as mine for the kids even when they don't speak it yet. Kontagious: First, English no be my mother tongue and same for my child, so I went with the native language option.
For the child communicating in English, I have an infant who is just about walking, babe never start to talk properly so I asked my wife, how am I suppose to answer this question now? But since she'd eventually speak English, I choose English. Plus we talk to her in English and she responds accordingly (when she decides to be a gentle babe though), and she has started picking one word syllables. So, I had more conviction to select English. Only conservative as I would have selected both English and French for her sef as we'd want her talking french classes at the appropriate time. We saved that for future use
Lets wait for our seniors. |

Send a mail to this lady, Lori Grogg at lgrogg@wes.org. She is a Director and should be able to handle your case. Explain everything that happened and the costs you have incurred to travel up and down to another country just to sort out this issue. From experience, if WES has sent a verification to your school, you will be notified by email too, so if you did not receive such email, then I doubt it was sent. Explain this fact too in your mail to the Director, show your complete displeasure. They will spring into action like a springboard These WES people can give somebody high BP for nothing. I hope this helps. 12go: I am not a tweeting thing but I have joined twitter to send message to WES. I have also sent them a message on facebook and fax using hello fax.
Will send them a formal request using fax tomorrow and will tell my institution to write to WES on my behalf.
Plan to leave Ghana tomorrow. Please suggest any other avenue through which I can contact WES .

Hello House,
Please I have the following questions:
1) Do we select NYSC as employment under personal history? 2) Is it compulsory to list all activities in personal history even when it is overlapping one another as In my case below. I did 2 distant learning programs in a UK school while working here in Nigeria, I have never visited UK for that and the degrees have been assessed by WES, do I have to include them as activities under personal history even when it is in the same period as my current work?
If yes, what will be my country of study? Nigeria or UK where the institution is?
This also applies under the education history as I do not want them to ask for PCC for UK that I have never visited just because I included country of study to be UK, as per the location of the school. I feel that’s not correct. Please advise o, Seniors in similar position.
Thanks a lot in advance. |

Hah, that dummy PR number go hard o. dupyshoo: Is it possible to put a dummy PR number? Then you can include a letter in the general LOE section explaining your situation.
I was in a kinda situation as I had applied for Alberta PNP before years back and my application was returned as incomplete. I did not even get to see the returned form. I said "No" to all the statutory questions and when I was asked to submit a Schedule A form, I used that opportunity to explain the situation. |

This is what sb on another forum advised. "If it asks for IRCC, you can just mention yes and the UCI number, since you already have one. For PR, I think you'll have to say NO as you don't have the file number as you did not get an AOR from the paper based application." Pls did you get an Aor before your application was returned? ajiifixing: Bwahahahah. The fear of the ''Badt gang'' is the beginning of not mentioning names.
I can only tackle below question:
1) I applied in 2014 for permanent residency through the paper based application, but was returned that my NOC has capped, and they wrote my UCI number in pencil on my form. Now I'm being asked if I have applied for PR before and I answered yes, and they asked for my PR file number and I dont have any such number, and the form keep showing incomplete without the PR file number. What should I do?
I had a File number too .It was written in the mail they sent to you at that time your prior application was returned. Mine starts with B0 followed by numbers with [SW1] in bracket at the end. e.g. B056761222[SW1]. If you check the top right part of the letter sent by CIC to you ,you should find it there. |
