Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Sometimes I Want To Regret Going To School by Virtue11: 12:08pm On Sep 09, 2015
@OP
It appear to me that your career vision is getting slightly blurred because of the present hassle you are facing or how could you have compared your university education to those who dropped out of school or those who learned a trade. These are two distinct pathways in life. The duration at which each will yield income differs. The magnitude and frequency of the income will also differ. There is a level that those who learned a trade or dropped out of school will reach and they can never go up anymore because they lacked the necessary exposure, confidence and certificates that will make them acceptable in the next level. Do not allow this your myopic nature deprive your children of their right to be educated in life. I remembered a friend of mine whose colleague stopped at secondary school to learn a trade. Before he even gained admission to the university, they have started making money, some bought land and build houses before he even finished University. Some actually helped him with some money. That was expected because it is quicker to lean a trade and start seeing the income. When He finished University, some of them actually helped him with some token while he was looking for Job. In-fact he stayed for a while with some of them. But my friend, the exposure, confidence, lasting future potentials, enlightenment, caliber of friends and associates, leadership opportunities and the likes that your university education will grant you in one day can overshadow all their labor of many years not just in terms of monetary value. If you indeed passed through the wall of University, How could you underestimate the future power of such education. The guy suddenly got a scholarship, traveled abroad, secured international employment. Within some months of work, He was able to raise what his colleague made for almost all their years of labor ( this is not to discourage people from learning trade or handwork) but each paths are different. Today, where he is; his family set up, his children exposure, the future opportunities, the planning, the house he lives, the position he holds, the caliber of people that wants to be with him, the travel schedules..etc., all reflects the light of his University education. My friend, go and redefine your career vision. Delay is not denial. He that laugh last; laugh best

Thanks.

I am not expecting anything better from your response. The response above is more applicable to describe your present dilemma judging from the content of your post. I have told you the truth. Why are you offended by it. Please don't be offended; It just show your real personality behind the screen. Please go and walk on your life. Truths are bitter but they will make you free.

Go and think about how to get your own husband and marry instead of worrying yourself with useless invite that can not do you any good. It appear that since the break up, you have not succeeded to find a suitable man. If you have , you wouldn't be here contemplating on how to attend the wedding of a man who has probably used you and had moved on. He is even planning marriage with all your acclaimed thoughts that you dumped him. You are wasting precious time on a wild goose chase. Use this time to invest in your life, plan your own marital life and cancel the syndrome of Ex's over your life. How many Ex,s do you want have before you finally settle down? Women should be ashamed of referring to Ex,s as if it is a trivial thing. Each Ex,s always leave a mark of usage on your body and soul regardless even if you are the one that ended the relationship. I am surprised a woman can even post trash like this. What do you want to achieve. Get over this and give yourself a sense of goal in life. it appear you are not focused at the moment. I don't mean to offend. Just telling you the pure truth.

Thanks

Just got a message that my visa is ready for collection so I will not bother calling Belgium again, will go collect it morrow. +3227938000 Belgium immigration number to call, be inform that they only attend to people that has their 5 digits file number..

Congrats on your Visa then.
maybe it is good not to call any country silly because of the decision of someone making decision at the embassy. Their decision does not represent the whole country of Belgium. Let us learn to respect peoples decision

So sad! But not totally unexpected of them. Where is Virtue 11? Any update on yours?

@ zik4ever

I have not heard from them. The old woman I filled the visa for is already tired. But there is nothing anyone can do than to patiently wait till everything unfold. They have the right to grant or deny visa. It is their country. The pedigree African travelers have when applying for visa to Europe and America is very low because of the recent immigration issues involving Africans. There are also many African in Europe who are spoiling the image of our country because of all these do or die manner and have succeeded to tarnish the image of the good ones among us. If the same D visa was filled from Netherlands to Belgium for any African, it will not take more than 3 weeks. This delay is because the Visa is filled from Nigeria or that is what I think. I am hoping our country Nigeria will attain a very high status one day

Belgium embassy Abuja has sent me a mail twice with 2 times 5 digits visa numbers and when I call immigration in Belgium they checked and the numbers belongs to a guys not me, they are so stupid that they can't even send the right number for me, everything about Belgium is useless..

@Mercy1111
I understand how painful it was to be denied visa after so much waiting but you do not need to call anyone silly. every country has the right to grant or deny visa. I did my postgraduate studies in the Netherlands and now live in Belgium. I can tell you that when it comes to organization, Netherlands is better organized then Belgium perhaps because Belgium is being ruled by French and Dutch part. I also think the mistake in number of your digits number comes from Abuja. I pray another way open for you.

Thanks

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum cos I don't know what to do anymore, I applied for a Belgium study visa since June and I was told it will take 15 working days but it's 56 work days now and I have not hear nothing from them, though I was called for interview on the 4th of August but it's 1 month since the interview and no update from them, I really don't know what they are doing with the process cos a lot of people are complaining about Belgium visa processing time

Did you apply for Long Stay Visa; D-Visa? I presume since you were called for interview, it means you applied for D-Visa. That means that your file will be passed to Belgium after your interview in Nigeria for final decision. That was exactly how our file was treated when we processed long stay Visa. The Application was initiated in may/June, The interview was around July and the visa was granted around November/December. In fact we had to follow up the file in Belgium before the visa was finally sent to Nigeria. It usually takes between 1-3 months after the interview for one to have the final decision. For Long stay Visa; that is understandable but for short stay visa-visits etc; I do not know why there is so much delay.

Please i'm calling on all the reasonable married men on nairaland to come to this thread to let the future husbands, bachelors and fellas know some unforseen mistakes that one can avoid in making the decisions of marrying a girl and share their experiences on things they wish they could change if they had the opportunity to go back in time

Never walked by sight!!!!. it is not only deluding but will fade away so soon. You will always see better packages that seemingly looks better everyday. Avoid marrying to please society or friends or family or to get unnecessary accolades or recommendation from friends even when you know you are marrying a masquerade but for the purpose of presentability or economic profitability or delay; you shut your eyes against all warning signals and inherent misbehavior that does not befit a wife or an husband. Never forget that as you lay your bed so you sleep on it

Another thing is what are they things you would like unmarried guys to know about marriage that u never knew about it till you found yourselves in it.

You cannot know everything about marriage before you go into it. Marriage itself is a journey. It is like a dark market. Your knowledge and understanding however broad they are will not suffice. Philosopher, Scientist, so called Pastors, psychologist, presidents… to mention but a few have all have failed marriages and have even cheated.... what then is the way out? People have always asked me; why is my marriages so blessed and harmonious; I always tell them; carry the searchlights of God when looking for a marital partner; Not just your sense, or your tribe or your educational accreditation; if you marry your wife or your husbands through divine leading; believe me; you will face little or no hassle in your marriage and you won’t even worry if women or men are enticing your husband or wife because you know they can never swim in another person habitat

How do you manage to marry one lady and be with her so long without cheating on her? what are the things that helps you married men in abstaining or is being faithful over rated?

Fishes don't struggle to swim. Birds don't struggle to fly. It is there natural habitat. Other women whether they are Unclad , scantly dressed or completely covered; enticing, appealing or disgusting ; white; yellow or black; greatly endowed or scantly endowed do not appeal to me except my wife. People who cheat or commit adultery are fools and have no sense. They lack wisdom to know that there is nothing in there than what there wife possess" They have lust in their hearts. But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he [that] doeth it destroyeth his own soul. A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away - Proverb 6: 32 - 33' .

For you to be like me; and ladies if you desire a man like me- the man must have a new nature. The lust in the hearts of that man must have been dealt with, circumcised thoroughly and it is then the man will be able to know that there is nothing special in promiscuous, shameful and immoral women of these days. It is not what a man can do by being discipline; it is a new nature that comes when one thouroughly gives his heart for circumcision made by faith in Christ Jesus. I don't mean by going to Church. Even when I was not married, I never have time for all these dirty things. Whether my wife satisfy me or not, it is this new nature that made other women unappealing to me. I can only drink water from my own Cistern. Other cistern irritates me.

I challenged all men to be like me.

Its 2 months since my family applied for the visa and school holiday ends next week, I'll withdraw the application. Good luck to good guys and girls still waiting.

What good will it do you and your family if you withdraw your application now especially after waiting patiently for so long except perhaps you need your passport back urgently? Even if your family can not use the visa again because of school resumptions; try to ignore them until everything about this visa issue finally unfold. Having waited this long, just allow your patience to see you through to the end. At least we have learnt one or two things from all these sagas. I am still waiting to see what they will do with it. I did not even bother checking on them again.

Someone whose family has pending visa application since June wrote to the Embassy for the fourth time and finally got this reply today:
Dear Sir/Madam,
Kindly be informed that the concerned visa application is still being processed.
As soon as we have an answer, VFS will contact the applicant.
Please note it takes minimum 14 working days to process a visa due to the compulsory Schengen consultation.
Best regards,
Embassy of Belgium in Abuja

@zik4ever,
I saw that you have been very active on this topic and have certainly kept it alive. Do you personally have a pending visa application with Belgium Embassy or this is just out of concern for your friend who has already withdrawn his application according to the prior information you have given on this topic so far?

I sponsored a Belgium family visit visa for my mother with supporting documents from Belgium where I currently live. She submitted her application through VFS office in Lagos since 23/06/2015 and up till now there has been no decision taken.

I contacted the Embassy of Belgium in Abuja by email this morning and I got a reply after couple of hours with the information you gave above except for the last sentence.

Perhaps this is a general delay for all the applications through the Belgium Embassy this period of time. I am hoping there will be a decision this week.

Thanks

Please check the school website for this. It is usually for those who are slightly deficient in the requirements needed to follow the main master courses. Pre-master programs are meant to cover such deficiencies.

Family / Re: Is It Wrong For A Christian To attend His Village's Mmanwu(masquerade) Festival? by Virtue11: 5:42pm On Dec 19, 2012
Tochi4life: Christmas is around the corner, and in some parts of the country esp the east, there is always an annual Mmanwu(masquerade) festival *Ibono*. I remember the day my dad took me and my brother to our first Mmanwu festival for the Iba mmanwu (initiation)not as occultic as it sounds lol it was just to know the truth behind it all so you could become a man and seperated from the girls/ladies. My mother Literary bath us with Holy water and anointing oil when we came back lol.

Some people say its not a sin that its tradition I remember some Revs attend our village own.. I want to know if its wrong and possibly if there its a verse in the bible where it was quoted that its wrong.

First and foremost..What is Sin? In 1Jn 3:4, Sin is the transgression of Gods law.
Does some tradition goes contrary to the law of God? Yes. In Mark 7:8, Jesus rebuked the Pharisee that theylay aside the commandment of God, and hold the tradition of men. And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

Is God against masquerade festival tradition?.. In 1 Corinthians 10: 10- 20 It is clear that this festival is against the commandment of God. When pagans dance, sacrifice, masquerade and others things, they do it to the devils and not unto God. In vs 20-21, Paul the Apostle said ye cannot be partakers of Gods and at the same time be partakers of the devil. You know quite well that masquerade festivity is embellished with many fetish things and carves images and idolatry.

In 1Jn5: 12..Little children keep yourselves from idols..masquerade festival inclusive. Before we became Christian, Galatians 4:8 when you did not know God, we were enslaved to those that by nature are not gods(masquerade inclusive. 1 Corinthians 12:2 You know that when you were pagans you were led astray to mute idols, however you were led. But now the word of God says we should flee idolatry, in 2 Corinthians 6:13-15. Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?

From all this point of views, Judge yourself. Is it good for a real child of God to partake in Masquerade festival? What will come to your mind first if you see your pastor dancing to masquerade beat and bowing down to masquerade?

Lets keep to the word of God and avoid the fetish tradition of Men which is idolatry.

Thanks

For your sake, I hope you are not talking about the christian god. The christian god is something that white Europeans brought to your black ancestors.

Logicboy03,

With due respect to my black ancestors and White European who I hold in high esteem. They have lived their lives and have gone to the great beyond. The most important thing now is for me to investigate whether the Christian God they brought to Africa is real, genuine and not one cooked up story in Island somewhere. If you can do this with an open mind, without any biased mind and the fear of what the outcome might be and with with the soul aim of finding out the truth only. In no time from now, you will know what I am talking about.

Kobojunkie:

Gibberish!! Look, the same principalities exist every where else on the globe, right? The question here is why do Africans in general focus so much of their attention on the principalities etc and less attention on Life itself and living it, exploring and living to the fullest? You almost get the sense that the average African was created to spend more than 75% of life roaming the earth searching out principalities in fear, spending so much less of that precious time on actually bettering self and the world around em.

I do not have to argue to with you but you do not have to use the world Gibberish...You made sense with what you wrote though - so many have truncated their existence because of the unnecessary amplification of the existence of spiritual powers. However,you can always make your emphases without attenuating other people point of view. Anyway it is always true. A man cannot live beyond the level of his exposure. When I tell my white friend about God..they always want the God they can see physically and hence they don't believe. Let me ask you a question, does their unbelief reduce the existence of God?..You know the answer..

@OP,
I know Nigerian are bit superstitious but that does not equate the absence of evil powers even in western world. It is just that it is not as prominent as in Africa. Please don't let your PhD certificate deceive you, there are principalities and powers even from the time of Jesus Christ.Your PhD certificate amount to nothing if you don't have a supernatural covering(me I have Jesus blood oooo). He that keep his mouth will keep his life. Have you not heard and seen how a man got stuck in another mans wife the last time on you tube?. Which of the science can explain that? There are many scholars and even firm believers who have surpassed what you think you have achieved(Intending PhD certificate)but know that powers of darkness do exist. And whether you believe it or not, every physical manifestation has a spiritual undertone.( whether of God or the Devil). Or do you think the alarming rate of suicide in Europe is just ordinary? There are many things the white scientist cannot even explain. Please if you don,t have Jesus, don,t talk your mouth into problem. Even ignorance, carelessness and stubbornness which are the main cause of accident are usually accentuated by the powers of darkness in someones life before the person will meet his Waterloo. A word is enough for the wise.PhD certificate is nothing than a mere career life. It has nothing to do with spirituality.

Hope you will understand.

thanks
Career / Re: Job, Graduate Program Or Marriage? by Virtue11: 9:08pm On Dec 17, 2012
Life actually is about taking risk but it is good to take a calculate risk to avoid intense damage if things backfire. Let me relate your situation to the experience of someone I know very well. I am sure you will learn from what happen to him.
He was in his early thirties in 2009 and was working with a monthly salary of 135K per month. As he was thinking about marriage, he had a scholarship for his master program and was kind of confused. The guy was very intelligent and practical in his decision. As a true Christian and not the so called fake brothers we have around these days, I believed he prayed and took a calculated risk. He accepted the scholarship, applied for leave of work without pay for two years and completed the introduction of his fiancee who was then in 100L in the University-a very pretty damsel (who says there are no virtuous girls in Nigeria, the girl was 21/22 years then).
He told me that whenever he finishes his master degree, if he has no work abroad he will return back to his work in Nigeria but if opportunity arises after the master degree, he will resign finally from his former company.in both ways, he would loose nothing. On the other hand, I discussed with him about his pretty damsel (his fiancee) if she would be able to wait. He said my friend I trust that girl as a real Christian and I will try my best to encourage her to remain virtuous. But if she couldn't it means it was not meant to be. Throughout the period of his master degree, he kept communication line between his former company and his fiancee in Nigeria University. He planned for a post MSc life both for Nigeria and Abroad. He was so realistic and yet so faithful and optimistic. When he finished two years later, He has five international offers in a reputable company and institutions even at that age, that he has to be making choices, I mean in Europe and America. His fiancee on the other hand was serious with her academic and never looked elsewhere with all her beauty. Some Nigerian girls are really virtuous but I believed the rampancy of bad ones makes us assume every Nigerian girl is promiscuous. To cut the long story short, they wedded last year as the wife was in her final year. They lived abroad at the moment as expatriate
I believed you can learn one or two things from the short story of my personal friend I just related to you. Plan, pray, be realistic and yet be optimistic. Try and take a calculated risk.
Goodluck

He intends to use them Prophylactically when he gets there should there is any malaria parasite in his blood. He asked me if there will be any problem with immigration either in Nigeria or in Germany. I told him I have no idea since I did not carry such while leaving Nigeria. Please can any one shed some light into this question. Is it an offence?

Education / Consequence Of Combining 2 WAEC Results With Different DOB For Admission by Virtue11: 5:40pm On Oct 22, 2012
A friend of mine has been given admission to study at the Polytechnic and I did promise to help him pay all his fees including his living expenses. He sent all the details to me through email as I currently work and live abroad. I noticed his admission was genuine and that he had already paid his acceptance fees. However I noticed that he is planning to combine 2 WAEC results. A cursory look at the results shows that both bear his name but different dates of birth(DOB). I brought his attention to it that this might hinder his graduation after spending two years for the OND program and that he should try and resolve it before registration. His response was cold as he think I am trying to recant my initial promise. But on the contrary, I am just being careful so that I don't end up spending money for nothing.

Please if he goes ahead to complete his registration with these 2 results, would there be any repercussion especially during graduation. Can he even complete his registration at all?

Thanks for your responses
