Because of situations at home, we wanted to leave the return open so that given one week or even 3 days notice, we can just book the return without the stress of cancelling and rescheduling an existing one.

For a visitor visa, is the return leg ticket required before the visitor is allowed to board (any airline). Also at the point of entry in Heathrow, will the return leg ticket be demanded?

Thanks for this suggestion... I just checked the short stay and it'll be cheaper for such short hours.

Is there a way to get cheap parking at London Heathrow Airport? Minimum I'm seeing in the long stay parking is around £35 even though I might not be there for more than 2 to 3hrs to do a pickup.

Perhaps too much docs confused the case officer but it’s ridiculous giving fraudulent documents as a reason for refusal. I’ll suggest you contact a lawyer to help out. Don’t do it all by yourself cos you need to clear your name and reputation

I don't have experience with this particular scenario but my contribution is next time what you need for wife is marriage certificate (where available) and for children, birth certificate. In my experience, every other docs is not necessary and would only raise suspicions.

The explanation is just the inflows and outflow from her account, she uses FBN mobile for transactions but it just adds ref no instead of the description she puts and there are some income(friends/family gifts) without description too.
Her account balance is not empty it is the balance I am thinking of putting as the savings amount

As for using petty trading she has no evidence of business or business activities and as you said I am trying to avoid situauions and explanations.

Don't worry yourself about the description in bank statement.
Giving this explanation will draw the attention of the VO and create an issue where there is supposed to be none. Except you think there is a suspicious amount that should be explained.

2b. This conflicts with 2a already. As she is the one making the application, her financial situation is paramount. Even if she is not showing savings, she needs to show her statement which cannot be empty and 1.5M annual income - 75k monthly expense should have balance.
1. I can't tell, but I can assure you that it's easier and better to put yourself in a situation where you won't have to explain anything than to put yourself in the situation and starts explaining. Give me an idea of why you want to explain and I may be able to provide alternative even if you are in the situation already.

Saying she's unemployed may be a disadvantage, try petty business, it was suggested earlier.

Migrant= expat. Both immigrants and emigrants fall under the umbrella term of migrant. Regarding duration, it's also catered to. There is a reason why 'temporary migrant' is a commonly used phrase to qualify migrants who are not moving permanently.

I'm yet to see a consistent difference between the two. Length of residence does not qualify in any definitive manner. Many 'expats' relocate longterm (some to retire) and many 'migrants' move temporarily.

I believe if you travel to a new country to settle down permanently, you are an immigrant. Whether you eventually settle down or move about for various reasons is a different issue.

No need to mention the business, Just say she's a full time house wife that depends on allowances from children. This makes it more difficult but give it a try.

Assuming your mum is of pensioners age and you can sponsor the full trip:

Your birth certificate
Your int passport
At least 3 months recent payslips
1 - 3 months recent bank statement (this is optional but if you decide to add it, the opening and closing balance should be up to 4k upwards)
Utility bill
Tenancy agreement/purchase contract
Your mum's passport
Your mum's bank statement (at least 3 months. Opening and closing balance of 100k upwards is okay)
Invitation letter stating that you will bear full financial responsibility for the trip, where she will stay, reason and duration of visit and your share code to prove your right of residency (BRP would have done this but all BRPs have expired).

If your mum will sponsor herself or if she's not of pensioneers age, it becomes more complex because her account balance needs to reflect the cost of the trip and she then needs to prove source of the funds, tax payment etc

Why not pay a physical visit, to the couriers depot......

I have asked VFS Global (via email) for courier details including name, tracking number and expected delivery timeframe but they didn't provide any of these. Their response was they will get back to me "once they hear from the dedicated team handling" the matter. And VFS Global will not allow you into their office without having a biometrics appointment.

I applied for visit visa for mother in-law in Dec of last year and paid for passport delivery service via courier. On 20th/12, I got an email from VFS global, Ikeja that a decision has been reached and that the passport has been sent out for delivery via courier. No delivery details, tracking or delivery timeframe was provided.

It's almost a month and we haven't received the passport. I have since raised a complaint and the response after providing all the information they requested is that they will provide feedback "once they hear" from the team handling the matter.

In other to know what actions to take next (including getting a new passport and applying for another visa), I need closure on this matter.

I am considering legal actions and need insight on possible outcomes should I go this route.

What kind of case will it be, civil or?

There were no terms and conditions to read while adding the delivery service, there was just an option to add insurance in case of missing items which I didn't take. In the rare case that the passport is lost, Do I have a case against VFS Global Ikeja?

Seeing that the visa vignette may expire after 3 months and I need ample time to plan the trip including getting items and booking flight all of which the dearth of the passport is precluding me from, how long should I escalate and exhaust the internal procedures of VFS Global before seeking legal recourse?

There is no evidence to support all you said above, this is just what you think but its not factual. By the way..Tesla share was far higher when he wasn't involved in politics or bought Twitter.

He was able to get close to Trump because he donated millions and not because he bought Twitter.

That he hasn't made any profits from the investment is also what you think and not factual because Twitter didn't report net profit for some years after the acquisition. So you drew conclusions from the information available to you just like I did.
