You may not find where it says "you can switch visa category anytime". You can only leverage on the fact that it didn't say you can only switch at certain times as well.

Employers wanting to switch three months to expiration does not mean they think doing otherwise is illegal. I mean why will I give you a visa that'll require you to work legally when you can work legally already.

It's just to keep checking till you see the one that does not mind.

Just so you know, comparison is a thief of joy, if you have agreed on an amount that's less than the suggestions you see here, don't let it discourage you. That is why I personally try not to know the salaries of my colleagues 😅. It has it's advantages and disadvantages.

If you don't want plenty talk, just charge £10/hr on 40hrs/week paid in cash. This will give you £1,600 net.

The extra hrs you will work will compensate for the accommodation and feeding.

assume your typical working hrs week day will be 6AM when the children wakes up to 8AM when they go to school and 3PM when they come from school and 10PM when they sleep i.e 9hrs week days. I believe we can overlook the work you'll do outside those hrs. For weekends, you'll work from 9AM when they wake up to 10PM when they sleep i.e 13hrs.

Total hrs worked in the week is (10×5) + (13×2) = 76

As for the accommodation and feeding, we can use the work you do off hrs i.e between 8AM and 3PM and after 10PM to compensate for that so it's scratch my back I scratch your back.

Taking a first learner as case study, for manual car, it may take up to 45 lessons to get ready for driving test. Using auto will take about 25 lessons.

One lesson is 2hrs (or 1hr) and cost £40/hr on average. The extra classes for manual is the money saved. Learning gear and clutch alone will take more than 10 classes but is not needed for auto. You could save btw £500 and £1k there.

Manual cars are cheaper to buy in the market and the difference is huge. E.g Manual Range Rover Evoque is cheaper than the auto version.

Things are no longer the way they were, it was easy to get part time jobs but not anymore because full time workers are now in abundance so employers prefer them.

I used to be an advocate of "come, you will hussle and survive, don't let anybody discourage you", but with the financial burden and emotional stress I have got to bear from students this period, my guy, I won't discourage you o, but I will tell you before you come that you should not count on me.

Auto is easier and faster, saves you money, time and energy, no need to plan to drive manual if you plan to buy auto because you will hardly need to drive another person's car.

Manual cars are significantly cheaper to buy and with manual license, you can drive auto too.

It's difficult, but better than having them create a thread on Nairaland 18 years from now when applying for visa asking for advice on how to explain why they overstayed their visa before.

The children become illegal immigrants and all the issues associated with illegal immigrants apply to them regardless of their age. It will be difficult for them to come back to UK if they leave for any reason.

It will be in their immigration history and may affect their visa applications to other countries.

BRP is a residence permit, it is required to reside in the country regardless of your age, whether you work, school or do nothing is a different thing.

You should take them to Nigeria and apply for them to join you when you like.

I am not speaking from experience and have not heard such before, I'm only assuming based on general understanding.

Plan to have fun, for long layovers (not sure of the duration) they will lodge you in a 5 star hotel in the city with good food. If you have time, you can tour. Just make sure you don't miss the bus conveying you back to the airport for your next flight.

When mine was returning, I made sure all my brothers, sisters, spouses and children got at least one item, some got more and my mum pack goodies for her neighbours in the market.

The smile on their faces gave me more joy than what the change I used to buy those things would have given me if it was sitting in my account.

Like I said, to each his own….all depends on your appetite risk — if you want to cover the risk of next pandemic it’s fine. However, coming from a country where we buy 10,000 naira third party insurance for cars worth millions to coming to the UK and covering worst case scenarios for expensive car insurance is a big change. Especially when most people won’t claim anything (normal probability of insurance). In my opinion, the main focus of a new migrant who wants to be mobile, is finding the cheapest insurance, legally (without lying). Goodluck! I’ve not claimed a dime for over 2yrs.

In insurance, you are safer providing worse case scenarios answers otherwise you may not be as insured as you thought. Also, most answers to insurance questions are not subjetive, you have to give the correct answers, for subjective answers, they usually provide guides. E.g for home insurance where they ask if you use the house for business purposes, they will tell you to click no if it's only work from home you do.

One way to reduce your premium is by increasing your voluntary excess, besides that, it can be costly if you try to provide smart answers instead of accurate answers.

She has reached an agreement with her employer on when to resume (peaceably if I may add). Employer even agreed to assign her shifts when her husband is home and off work because of the child (no crazy childcare costs).

Don't throw caution into the wind and work whenever because you are at liberty to do so. Try to meet the minimum working hours/pay set out for skilled worker visa holders

Also to show proof of earning the money, would I be asked to show my payslips from Nigerian company from two years+ (the last payslip from Naija company was in March 2022). Note Naira was then paid to Aboki for deposit into my domicilary account.

The question for you is can you explain the source of your funds? Can you prove it?

If your answers are yes, do as you please, if your answers are no then there is a problem.

I had 5k deposit in my account that wasn't my salary, they asked me about it, I explained and proved it, case close.

I can bring in £100k today and apply for a mortgage tomorrow without fear or favour, if they ask I will simply explain and prove it.
