Papilagreen: Bro if u get the opportunity to leave the run.. the best route to use na student study visa. The best decision I ever made was to leave Nigeria in 2019. For the United states. Papilagreen: See topics like these are what I like to add my own cents to.
Last last you go dey alright if you are able to make it here. Talking from a guy who came to America with just $250 in his pocket without knowing anybody. And it's the best decision I ever made.. I hope this my one cent was able to help the best way. If you need more info feel free to reach out I will be glad to assist the best I can. PLEASE What advice would you give regarding searching for graduate schools because there are over 4000 unis there so it could be overwhelming Is Canada not better considering it's easier to get PR and citizenship? Is it better to go to a European country first, them move to the USA from there? |

004gist: like I said its expensive that's why less Nigerians go through that rout.
As at 2022 those with 3m entered UK.
You can try US then let us know.
There is someone that used uk to enter US.
he paid his 15k fees then get to UK, reapply to US, get US then leave his fees of 15k to resume school in US
That's how hard it is Nawao I feel like he should have waited to finish the UK studies. Thanks for your input bro. |

004gist: Canada then USA.
But for easy entry UK first then from there to any of this countries... easy. chances is 80-90%
but from Nigeria to any is slim even meeting their visa requirement. You seem to be very knowledgeable in this. But people still enter the USA or Canada via student route steady naa. Or you think it's easier to go and study in the UK, then move to Canada or USA afterwards? |

Treadway: the person wey you dey quote, no go ever gree. No waste your time. Both my grandparents houses, Governor never collect am. My own sef of 7 years as at this morning dem never collect am. The people wey dem demolish their properties wey I know, they received more than adequate compensation. His own kinsmen no see money do proper documentation, maybe that was why the governor seized theirs without any compensation. That's it bro. He acts as if it's an everyday thing. |

IbeOkehie: Dear Sir, nobody owns land in Nigeria. Where else are we to look but the LUA, which is part of the Constitution? Practical REALITY is when a governor REVOKES the land rights of his political opponents. We ALL know that it happens.
Aside that, MANY people in my family and social circle have had "their" lands taken by government in both city and rural areas.
Another question- do you know anyone in Nigeria whose lands have been taken by government?
Read the Land Use Act. And if that one doesn't convince you, what if crude oil or any other mineral is discovered on your land? You gonna argue that one too?
The mass ignorance about land ownership in Nigeria is comparable to the mass delusion of THERE IS NO FUEL SUBSIDY. How grown people and even lawyers can't face the REALITY of the laws in a democracy is quite 🤔 Says a lot about Nigerians.
Cheers! Relax bro, I taught people LUA and others in uni at some point. The revocation has Procedures and done for public good, provides for compensation as well under chapter 4 of the constitution. It's done for political vendetta at times here because we are lawless. example is Wike of Rivers I know whereof I speak. Don't wanna reveal too much. |

004gist: they offer scholarships but most comes in % that's tuition fee discount my school offer like 2500.
The scholarship u get depends on ur grade. if u get higher grade like first class and high end 2:1 u are likely to get higher % from most schools. I have seen someone with 50%.
ok thanks
If you had free will to choose, would you have chosen
UK USA Canada Germany etc
And why please? |

004gist: I made an illustration.
and yes there is a 10k pounds school right now but their deposit is 5400. there are few 13k right now their deposit is 6000..
most of these schools deposit were only increased this year due to the inability of students to pay their fees on time and also the influx of students....
like my school last year it was 2k deposit but this year it is 4k. Thanks Don't UK offer scholarships like many US and Canadian schools? |

IbeOkehie: Read your Constitution. Look up the Land Use Act.
This one is how you know how OBLIVIOUS Nigerians are to their own country.
Do yourself a favour, read up. And it's REAL. And it HAPPENS to lots and lots of people in Nigeria but for some reason very few talk about it due to shame and embarrassment. And every Nigerian should be ashamed.
Cheers! oh I know about the LUA bro. I knew it could probably be where you were referring to. I thought there were other things meant. Land being invested in government, governor, revocation etc. For practical purposes, most Nigerians have legal ownership. I wouldn't want to stretch it further but I know whereof I speak. |

IbeOkehie: How many? What percentage of your university classmates have jobs or businesses that afford them the world recognized middle class standard of living?
I've said this over and over, I've seen paychecks for oil & gas field engineers in Nigeria....monthly paychecks from $30K up to $70K. These are people who live in Nigeria making $500K to $1million per year, a couple of them I know own homes in London and Switzerland and they've always lived in Nigeria. So I'm not going to EVER tell you that there's no Nigerians living well in Nigeria.
The more relevant issue is HOW MANY Nigerians live at a globally recognized & reasonable middle class standard? Can you PLEASE give us a guess? It's not about YOU and ME, it's about the GENERAL state of things.
I've written here about the fabulous pay of oil & gas field engineers in Nigeria. Now let me tell you some more stunning stats. Mighty Chevron Nigeria employs only 600 permanent staff in Nigeria. That's it, EVERYONE else working at Chevron is contract or temp staff. And the TOTAL employee count in the ENTIRE oil & gas sector in Nigeria is 65,000 people. That's it. Do the math and you find the mighty, well paying oil & gas industry that so many Nigerians salivate over, employs less than 0.01% of the Nigerian workforce of 80 million adults. So does it make sense to you to use those employed in that sector as a proxy for the overall wellbeing of the Nigerian populace?
The stats are clear -
Less than 0.4% of Nigerians earn over ₦200K per month, less than 7% of households have flush toilets, no single Nigerian has LEGAL OWNERSHIP of any lands. 99% of bank accounts contain less than ₦500K, unemployment is over 30%, interest rates are over 25% and on and on and on.
Middle class standard of living -
Access to clean, potable water supply - how many Nigerians have it? own a car or have access to clean efficient public transport - how many Nigerians have it? Access to stable electricity supply - how many Nigerians have it?
The biggest university system in Nigeria shut down for almost one year, there's people queueing for petrol in the 6th largest exporter of crude oil? A country full of business geniuses that can't even refine their God-given crude oil?
Look, I have friends that have been restaurant cooks, taxi drivers and care workers for over 30 years, they did no other kind of work and they own homes, ALL their teenage children drive their own cars and some of the kids have gone on to own their own homes at age 25, 26. How many taxi drivers or cooks can do that in Nigeria?
Abeg carry that nonsense commot here. Nairaland, the home of Nigerian REMOTE WORKERS and billionaires, non of whom can give us their real name or job. We know, Nigeria favors you and your family....leave those in the UK to suffer in peace.
Carry go jor! Welcome to Next Level! No Nigerian has legal ownership of properties? Why do you say so? |

004gist: remove China off the list..
The rest countries u mentioned are great but before they give u visa be ready to have 60,000$ at your disposal. that is if u are going as a student on MSc. that's 45 million naira.
But UK on the other side cheaper school as low as 10,000 pounds with u paying just as low as 2k pounds and a proof of funds setting in ur account for just 28 days less than a month.
Australia for example requires 3 to 6 months pof Are you serious about 10k pounds schools? And 2k deposit? . |
