Politics / Re: Hon Hembe's Confession: We Received Only N30m Not N44 Million From Mrs.Oteh ? by visionsen(m): 10:38am On Mar 21, 2012
I am surprised the woman has such money to spend for nothing, while doing nothing to help poor investors like me who lost millions to stock crash.
Politics / Hon Hembe's Confession: We Received Only N30m Not N44 Million From Mrs.Oteh ? by visionsen(m): 9:12am On Mar 21, 2012
Appearing before the committee last week, Director General, Securities and Exchange Commission, Ms Aruma Oteh had accused Hembe of demanding for a N5m bribe and a N44m ‘donation’ to the committee.

However, Hembe tendered copies of some internal memos on the subject before the House. The memo indicated that the Board of SEC, at its meeting held on March 13, approved N30m for the House committee hearing.

The board had approved the memo, following a request for N30.4m from the management of SEC through another memo ENDORSED by Oteh on March 1.

A breakdown of how the money would be used showed that N26.2m was for the live telecast of the hearing, while N4.2m was voted for “secretariat needs”, bringing the total to N30.4m.

The memo further indicated that the committee “welcomed this development (the proposal from SEC) and accordingly forwarded a budget estimate for the public hearing.”

Oteh, in her minutes on the memo to the Executive Commissioner (Finance and Accounts), noted, “excellent idea.”

In giving its approval on March 12, the board approved N30m, instead of the original N30.4m requested by the management.

Part of the approval reads, “After due deliberations, the board approved a maximum of N30m as donation by the Commission to financially support a public hearing on the Nigerian Capital Market by the House of Representatives Committee on Capital Market and other Institutions.”

Politics / Re: Abia Guber: S’court Decides Gov. Orji’s Fate Tomorrow by visionsen(m): 7:26am On Feb 28, 2012
For your information , nobody voted for Orji , it was Orji Uzor who declared him winner and went to abuja to secure his release from detention with the tax payers money. He handed him over a day before May 29th official handover date to avoid efcc re-arrest because he was the then chief of staff to the governor. We are watching and waiting but the bad news of the whole story is that the man who wants to unseat him now is also a thief thief. God will one day come to our rescue.

Politics / I. G. Of Police : Our Respect Is Gone, We Are Killer Squads, Bans Road Blocks. by visionsen(m): 5:35am On Feb 14, 2012
THE Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Dahiru Abubakar, has directed the immediate dismantling of all intra state and highway roadblocks which constitute nuisance, especially in Lagos, Edo  and the south-eastern states.

Also, he ordered the disbandment of all squads, teams or any other operational or investigating outfit under whatever name and collapsing such into the original structures recognised by police standards.

The IGP, who read the Riot Act on Monday while addressing ACPs of Police Commands in charge of operations and CIDs in Abuja, warned that henceforth, he would hold Command Operation Officers and ACP CIDs personally and directly responsible for operational and investigative misdemeanours occurring within their jurisdictions.

According to him,  any observed non-compliance with these directives and subsequent ones which will be issued from time to time will attract severe sanctions as his administration will not be frustrated by officers’ non-committal attitude to work, nor will it tolerate indiscipline, indolence, corruption, inefficiency and all the negative tendencies that have brought much disgrace to the force.

While lamenting that the Nigeria Police had fallen to its lowest level and had become a subject of ridicule within the law enforcement community and among members of the enlarged public, the IGP noted that police duties had been commercialised and provided at the whims and caprices of the highest bidder.

“Our men are deployed to rich individuals and corporate entities such that we lack manpower to provide security for the common man, our investigation departments cannot equitably handle matters unless those involved have money to part with.”

He said it was sad that complainants suddenly became suspects at different investigation levels, following spurious petitions filed with the connivance of police officers.

Also, he said the anti-robbery squad (SARS) had become killer teams, engaging in deals for land speculators and debt collection, while toll stations, in the name of checkpoints, adorned the highways with policemen, shamefully collecting money from motorists in the full glare of the public.

Though this subsidy removal will be hard for the common man but  the truth is that if the Nation do nothing about the it now, it consequences will hunt us later.
Politics / In Support Of Gej"s Fuel Subsidy Removal ? by visionsen(m): 8:29pm On Jan 05, 2012
l am 100% in support of removing subsidy in all petroleum products by the federal government of Nigeria, because the Nation cannot move forward  if the status remains.

(1)Subsidy is a monsters that must be tamed to enable us develop like other countries.

(2)The time has come to stop the activities of  Unscrupulous independent marketers, who has been enriching themselves for decades to the detriment of the suffering masses.

Nigerians has to be informed to know that these so called  independent marketers, import petroleum products  and then sell at at 100 naira a litter outside Lagos and Abuja, then they turn to the F.G to collect subsidy, thereby making much money.
How long shall we continue in this situation and who is fooling who ?

The conditions given by N.L.C before subsidy removal is unacceptable because the money needed to build or resuscitate the infrastructures are not available because of the fuel subsidy .
