Buhari Says.
To avert the looming chaos in the New Year, immediate steps should be taken to drastically reduce the cost of governance in the three tiers of government. Salaries and especially allowances should be drastically reduced; security votes should be abolished – not increased as the 2012 Budget has done. Votes for the Armed forces, Police and Security Services should be transparent and accountable; foreign travel and estacodes should be stopped for at least six months other than for the Presidency, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and medical emergencies.

Government House expenses in all the states should be drastically reduced, foreign travel suspended for a while. The National Assembly should give a lead in reducing their allowances substantially and stopping their foreign travels.

Foreign Affairs / Europe Debt Crisis Continiues To Hang Over World Economy ? by visionsen(m): 8:33am On Nov 07, 2011
The debt crisis in Europe continues to hang over the global economy after a summit of the world leaders last week faild to produce any tangible new solutions.

The Group of 20 summit in Cannes, France, ended with broad promises from global heads of state to support economic growth and create jobs.
But the closed-door talk yielded scant details on the comprehensive plan the European union agreed to the 27th of Oct.

The Oct. 27 plan includes a series of measures to address the crisis, including debt relief for Greece, new capital requirements for banks and plans to build a financial "firewall" around vulnerable euro area economies.
Less than a week after it was announced, the plan was called into question following a controversial move by Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou.
Quote:
This is a question of whether or not we want to be in the Eurozone," said Papandreou. "That is very clear."
Sports / Breaking News : Ghana's Player Make's Football History By Mistake ? by visionsen(m): 10:46am On Nov 04, 2011
A referee in Ukraine has come up with a contender for the most pedantic red card of all-time during a Premier League match between Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk and Karpaty Lviv.
Dnipro's Samuel Inkoom had already been booked when he was substituted in the 61st minute.
As he trotted towards the touchline, he removed his shirt and was prevented from shaking sub Evgeniy Shakhov's hand by the fourth official.
The Ghanaian turned around to see referee Oleg Derevinskiy brandishing a second yellow card, then a red.
As the substitution had not been completed, Dnipro were reduced to 10 men, but still held on to win 2-0.
Dnipro manager Juande Ramos had little sympathy for his player, saying: "Samuel was already on a yellow card, and we know if you take your shirt off on the field you'll be shown a yellow card.
"It was an unforgivable mistake on the part of our player.

Business To Business / 10 New Ways To Save Money. by visionsen(m): 6:09am On Oct 31, 2011
Hey All,
•  At the grocery store look down. Items below eye level are often cheaper.
•  Print a grocery list and stick to it.
•  Set the thermostat when you’re not home to save energy.
•  Use open source software. It’s free and usually as good. For example use Open Office instead of Microsoft Word or Excel.
•  Quit smoking. You will save much more.
•  Buy a quality used car instead of new. A new car is worth thousands less as soon as it leaves the lot.
•  Take up hobbies that don’t cost money.
•  If You must drink, reduce it to minimum by  Having a drink at home before going to the bar.
•  Make saving a game. Set goals and give yourself a reward if you reach them.
•  Don’t follow your impulse. If you feel the urge to buy something, wait a few days and see if you still want it.

Foreign Affairs / Only A Little Wound Killed Gadhafi ? by visionsen(m): 4:53am On Oct 21, 2011
Gadhafi was captured alive and unharmed as troops from the National Transitional Council overran his hometown of Sirte on Thursday, Jibril said. But a gunbattle erupted between transitional council fighters and Gadhafi's supporters as his captors attempted to load him into a vehicle, Jibril said, leaving Gadhafi with a wound to his right arm.
Libyans cheered the fate of ousted dictator Moammar Gadhafi into the early hours of Friday after his death in what Libya's transitional prime minister described as a crossfire that followed his arrest by revolutionary forces.
