Not so fast guys! I have been following this thread from because of my brother who also involved. But the information i reliably gathered from a senior staff is that the process was actually put on hold because of the dwindling oil price and not because of any elections. The in house promotion exercise is over and that as soon as they is an improvement, the recruitment exercise will resume again.

century106: Sir Vito, congratulations for your great achievement.

I really do like your building sir and am thinking of taking the bulls by it's horns and starting one just like yours in the not so distant time - God willing. Only that it may take a slower progress as I do not have deep/loud pockets likes yours yet.

Please sir if you have time;
1. I'd like to know how much modifications you made to the initial floor plan you posted on the very first page of this elucidating thread.
2. If you still have the study and the family lounge in same position as on the floor plan - how good is/will ventilation and illumination be for the study?

I must confess that quite a lot of modifications and remodeling was made to the original floor plan. For instance i had to dismantle the window in between the dinning and kitchen lobby and just left it open for proper illumination and space. Also, the original plan for this house was a 5 bedroom and that was why the topic of this thread reads so but at a point i decided to collapse both oga and Madam rooms to one huge Masters and it paid off well.

Furthermore, the study still retained its position but only created space for glass blocks between the ante room and study for better illumination and made the window through the family lounge bigger.

@Fastshipping The POP guy is a Togolese and his contact is 08037373333. Least i forget his name is Christo.

@Eghosa Johnnny. This is my final warning to you. Stop intruding on this thread and i wonder why you keep flouting my repeated warnings to you. I did you a huge favour by recommending you on this thread but never knew you were one big ungrateful fellow. Please to be WARNED.

Hi People! Good to be back on this thread after a long absence. However, let me spice your weekend with some of the things that have happened since the long absence though the stage now has gone pass this but will upload them when i visit the site again as the state of the road to my place during the rains has been a bit discouraging. But i take consolation in the fact that work will commence soon on it has the contract has been awarded.

@ abujaniv. I have been following this thread for a while and i quite commend this initiative from the consulate and also your tireless efforts to address almost all issues.

Please i would like to have some bit of information on the drop box renewal process. My visa expired since May this year and would want to know how to go about it and considering what your consular General was saying on Channels Tv some days back, i kinda feel discouraged to even think of renewing my visa for the 4th time. I would most appreciate your timely feedback on this.

Dear NLs, Due to the infiltration of this thread by people who have literally taken over the thread by soliciting for their services, i am discontinuing this thread and would advice the moderator to CLOSE it officially as i have lost the motivation to continue. For all those who have followed and contributed meaningfully and also those who have shared their lovely thoughts about my project, i say a BIG thank you. Much as i never intended doing this, but it has become inevitable to do so and i hope NLs will understand for security reasons. Cheers all.

Moderator please you have my permission to close this thread.

I thought i was the only one who noticed this. i even had to call her last week on her programme pointing this fact to her. All she had to say was that i was not used to the way she talks . Shocking!

Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by vitodorado: 10:06am On Mar 23, 2013
Hi vicjustice,
I have a senior cousin whose visa application was refused for some funny reasons. The baffling thing about this refusal is that this fellow in question has at different occasions been granted a 6 months, 2&5 years atisfied that you can before now. Been to the UK over 8 times and has never overstayed and also visited the US and currently has a visitors visa to Canada which he has not used and his current US visa will expire next year. See below the refusal notice;
I acknowledge dat u hv previously been issued with entry clearance.however,each time yu apply for entry clearance,yu hv to demonstrate dat yu qualify and therefore yu are required to submit sufficient evidence with each application.
You have applied for entry clearance as a visitor and stated you hv 2 paternal cousins in the UK , yu are married with 3 kids and intend to travel alone to the UK. Also UKBA records shows that your UK sponsor has sponsored 35 other visa applications. I am therefore satisfied that he is aware of the kind of documents that should be submitted with an application. I note that you only have a copy of his passport and a council tax bill from march 2012, 11 months ago. I have therefore seen no recent and up to date evidence of his accommodation and that he lives at this address in London. Such that I am satisfied that. this accommodation is secure and available to you. I further note that your bank statement show several purchases made by you in Bromley,Lewisham and streatham during your last trip to the UK in August 2012, a fact that further causes me to doubt you intend to stay in north London as stated.

I have therefore refused your application because I am not satisfied on the balance of probabilities that you meet all of the requirements of the relevant paragraph of the UK immigration rules.

Our right of appeal is limited blablabla.

Please can you advice on his next steps or wht he should do? Thanks.
Hat he is aware of the kind of

Refer to my previous post on my cost analysis. As for the tiling charge, it's 350 naira for non marble tiles and we agreed 450 for marble tiles. Hope this helps.

@Spyder. Thanks so much and i must at this juncture that your thread has been my inspiration because it was able to break that myth i had always harbored on building construction. Big up you bro...you to much.

@blink. The complete set cost me 85k and as for the last question,its a no brainier as it functions like any other.

I do have a builder involved in this project but I try as much as possible to be involved at every stage and process of construction. Just like what I see spyder doing in his personal house, the same applies to this project because I keep seeing new concepts which leads to me doing some modifications that involves bringing down some Walls to achieve the desired objective. My broda he no easy to build oh . But all well and good because am enjoying the progress.

@egin Like i said, it was only the visitors toilet tiles that are from the states as every other materials used were sourced locally. Also,my tiler is a Togolese based in Benin City and i need to ask where you are based as well. i'm also aware that these guys can travel to any part of the country to work.

@Favour The gate cost me just a 130k. Though lucky to have gotten it so cheap because the original price was 180k.

The tilers will commence the tiling of the rooms from next week and i hope to update more pictures after all the rooms and kitchen will have been finished. So sorry for my long absence and i hope some of you will now understand the reason behind my absence.Let me add that the visitors toilet tiles were actually imported directly by someone from the US whom i bought directly from.

@kuntash. Hahahaha . Sorry for the long absence away from this thread. However, I just finished all tiling and fittings work on my bathrooms and will post the pics soon. It took a bit of time because of the time it took me to source for the tiles .
