I used a Royal Exchange Investment Account and was issued a visa. Please ensure the funds are freely accessible (not locked up like a foxed deposit) and that the letter from the financial institution states so.

Greenocean :
Please has anyone used an investment account for POF? What was the outcome

Hi.

Please has anyone used a Royal Exchange Account to show proof of funds? They have a funny standard format letter they give you that says you have maintained an account with them since xyz month (e.g. January 2021) and you have NGN Bleep as your balance as at the date of the letter. It doesn't state that this amount of money has been there from this date to that date (e.g. 1st July to 28th July). I have asked them to amend their letter but they are refusing o saying that is what they give people from all visa applications. Please has anyone successfully applied for a UK Visa with their letter?

Thanks!

But you make an "application" when you submit your documents at TLS and not when you make payment for the Visa / IHS. Right? If this is correct then you can make payment for your visa while waiting for 28 days to complete, but book your appointment on the 29th day or any day after the 28th day.

Please correct me, if I'm wrong as I've heard this from others who have applied.

mattfeuter:

No.

POF before application.

Good afternoon everyone,

I have been billed $1015.54 for IHS (Tier 4 visa, less than 13 months). I converted this to pounds and it amounts to 745.104 pounds. Meanwhile, the calculator on the UK website states I should be billed 705 pounds. Please has anyone been billed $1015.54 for IHS recently?

Hi,

I was at their center last week. They announced that they are not booking physically. However, they asked those who came to book physically to send an email with the subject: Urgent TBS Test requesting for a booking date and they would be contacted via email. I don't know their email address. You may visit the Lagos centre to make clarification.

VickayThrills:
Good day Fam!

I tried to book a date for TB test but I have a challenge.

I can't get an available date for their center in Lagos. No date in September and I even noticed there's none till December.

How do I go about it as I want to do my TB test in September, please?

Happy Sunday...

Career / The Gordon Ramsey Recipe For Time Management: Survival In Hell Kitchen! by VoiceofanInk(m): 2:25pm On Apr 12, 2015
Living in a fast-moving-busy-world, we all have the tendency to work so hard that we hardly get enough rest.

Our life is messed up like a kitchen in hell hole.

We are always eager to equate busyness with progress. We forget so soon that it is not the quantity but the quality of our work that counts.

Having more than one can chew is not a sign of efficiency but the reverse. It means you are so overwhelmed that you are become more concerned with getting the job done that getting it well done.

The ability to focus on your most important task and to do it very well is evidently the key to success. -Phillips Olayanju

But, how can you focus on the right ingredients without a recipe?

It’s really not about how much you get done but how well you get it done.

Gordon’s Recipe for Time Management

It takes a determined person to wake up and exclaim “the bulk stops here!”, but a productive person will not just exclaim but get to work and reclaim.

You have to understand that your time is a precious stone. It is the language of business. Whatever you invest in it is what it will return unto you.

The hand of the clock is a proud chap. It ticks every second and not even Jezebel, if she were to rise from the grave, can stop it.

You can’t stop time but you CAN manage it with the right tools.

You the Chef! Take the lead

You’ve got to know that you are in charge. Adamantly refuse to be a slave to time! Step up to the challenge.

Time is not there to control you. You are there to control time and fill it as you wish.

Dice the Onion First

Experts have agreed that one of the best methods to manage time is to get your most important task done.

Always ask yourself

“What should I be doing now that I am not doing?”

What is that one thing which when it’s done will yield the greatest satisfaction to you?

Sharpen Your Knives

I’m sure that Gordon Ramsey does not prepare those awesome rasberries by laying out all the ingredients and going to sleep neither does Bill Gates make money by keeping a tooth under his pillow.

It is not enough to identify your most important task. You have to execute it.

You don’t have to wait for divine motivation to fall from on high! Be your own cheerleader. Encourage yourself and stop giving excuses.

Employ a chef

If you can’t handle all the work yourself, then you need an assistant.

Concentrate on your area of strength and delegate the rest to people who are better at it that you are.
Serve Dinner at 8

Dinner time is 7 but I’m sure they can wait for an hour. You don’t have to enslave yourself to others’ expectations.

Don’t be shy to say NO when necessary. If it’s going to affect your plans and wouldn’t impact you in any way, you can politely turn it down.

Prepare a Recipe For the Next Meal

Productive people have made it a point of duty to plan their day the night before. It infuses you with a great amount of enthusiasm and confidence when you wake up knowing exactly what to do.

You no longer have to become a slave. No one has to tell you what to do with your time. Remember, you the chef with the world-class recipe.

Make a decision to manage your time more efficiently, discipline yourself to execute your most important task – even when your favorite programme is running on the T.V- and determine to be a become a better person.

It’s in you. I know you can do it.

Get up and get to work.

Do not let life happen to you. Go out there and happen to life.

You are gradually stepping into an unknown terrain. Your earlier postulation, though with warped grammar and boisterous use of the latin phrases, were never the less, in line with legal principles. However, on the present analogy of falling and breaking a wrist in the banking hall, please review what the law says about occupiers liability. Stop misinforming readers who are here to learn.

Hmmmn.....since I've learnt a lot from you I guess I should be telling you thank you. I've read about occupiers liability. Although I have some reservations, I think it's logical to end my argument here Kindly point out my 'warped grammar' and excessive 'latin phrases'. We are all here to learn.
My apologies to all misinformed readers.
Business / Re: Can A Customer Sue Bank For Undeposited Money Lost During Bank Robbery? by VoiceofanInk(m): 12:10pm On Jan 02, 2014
BY Silver: Under the Banking Law the relationship between a customer and the bank is that of bailee and bailor and under the same provision not every body who does business with the bank is regarded a customer at law..for u to be properly called a customer of a bank you must have a valid account in line wit d relevant laws prescribed by the bank, by virtue of dat the relationship as regards where liability lies its stricto sensus very clear, the bank is onli liable for the lost of monies been deposited in ur account and not that which is lost within the premises if a reverse is the case it will cause untold hardship to the bank and d courts to ascertain the exact amount that was stolen as certain individuals may bring frivolous claims...so until the bank agent receives ur money the liability is on the customer if any lost should arise.ipso facto do so mean that you can't sue..talking frm the stand point of banking law and not common sense

Res ipsa loquitur.
Business / Re: Can A Customer Sue Bank For Undeposited Money Lost During Bank Robbery? by VoiceofanInk(m): 12:05pm On Jan 02, 2014
nupera: The bank can not be held liable for what they have not taken procession of. The twist is that there is what is called occupiers liability. If i fell and broke my arm within the bank premises due to a wet floor i can sue and get compensated if the bank did not make diligent effort to inform me of the possible hazard....just like they warned that my vehicle is parked at my risk within their compound.
I'm not a lawyer any learned fellow can help us further.

I agree with your first sentence. The bank is responsible for safeguarding money you deposit into them and not money in your pocket or handbag. However, if you slip and break a wrist, the only compensation you may get is "eyaaa...sorry". One, you aren't a worker in the bank who slipped while performing his duties, hence they are not liable. You may be a customer but, there's no evidence that you didn't slip of your own error...your shoes may be the cause. Since, I don't expect the floor of a bank to be wet I don't think I'll expect a sign: Beware of wet floor.
On the other hand they may be liable as the floor of a bank should be devoid of excessive liquids and other materials that may cause harm. It depends on the circumstances. Why is there water on the floor? Is there a justifiable reason? These are questions the bank should answer.

Caringpro: @ POSTER,

Becoming a good writer comes from your mind. You have to realize that you alone can make it to where you wanna be without waiting for external pushes. Then you have to learn to LISTEN TO YOUR SELF. This is one thing many people don't know how to do or doesn't even see it as a handicap. I believe you can start listening to yourself if you try because something inside you mus have told you that YOU CAN WRITE and that may be the reason you posted this thread. It is a good beginning. There are some materials i may email to you, if you will find time to go through it. IT'S FREE

Wow! U've got really nice poems there. Ur rhymes flow effortlessly from a spring of vocabularies.
Would love to see you experiment with other rhyme patterns as you did in the poem titled : Real Men. You should also use more internal rhymes coupled with your end rhymes. They'll make your poem very pleasant to the ear when read aloud.

Cheers.

Why should an outpouring from my heart to God be addressed to the public? Am I writing a poem?(Probably) Why should a letter to popsi be spread out in the sun? Why should I ridicule my family in the name of resolving our private issues? Issues I didn't bother to address in public when I was a Commissioner; not even when I became a senator. We all know OBJ has had problems with his family members. A over-200-paged-book has been written to that effect. What's our business with her problems with her dad?

If this letter, considering its timing, is intended to discredit OBJ's letter to GEJ then, it's a childish attempt at a fallacy ad hominem. We've seen this sort of thing happening before. I'm not defending OBJ but he has raised serious allegations that require a reply and not an insult at his personality nor dismal by a wave of the hand.

OBJ may be guilty of the allegations he levied against GEJ; he may have problems with his family members; for all I care, he may even be a dictator in his home. The fact remains that a President of a country has been accused of grievous and impeachable offences and the people need a reply as soon as possible.

I'm expecting more events to unfold. Fingers crossed.

Islam for Muslims / Re: A Muslim's View Of The Ban On Alcohol In Kano State by VoiceofanInk(m): 9:55am On Dec 05, 2013
We are gradually turning this into a religious war. I've read series of bigoted comments by people who have taken it upon themselves to protect the integrity of their religion. Does this really worth the stress?

If a ban is placed on a commodity in a state, I think it should be respected by all and sundry dwelling in that state irrespective of their religion.

However, isn't the outright banning of a religious sensitive good such as alcohol a ride too far? If the law is against the drinking of alcohol in public places, fine, it doesn't stop you from drinking. You shouldn't constitute a public nuisance and should be discreet in your consumption.

Even if the governor wants to ban alcohol outrightly, public awareness followed by a clamp down on the importation of alcohol into the state would be more civilized than destroying bottles of beer.

Nice work but...em...that 1 billion metres per second is a bit unrealistic. Also, if you are going to re-write this into a novel, you may want to add more detailed description. For instance, I know Michael was back in Naija in the afternoon, then he was in the hotel putting on his dark shades which helps him to see in the night and I was left wondering whether it was still mid-day or already evening or night.

Hmmmn! Welcome back Royver. Your last update, one of the longest, was quite sensational and intriguing. However, I think I should give a constructive criticism of the last episode.
First and foremost, you made mention of a building. I was curious to know if it was a bungalow or not. Could it be only the paint of the house and the broom Chuks noticed when he fearfully entered the house that held his beloved? A writer's descriptive strength is what brings his words into a clear imagination thru which the readers connect.
Also, If Chuks came to rescue Nina from the lion's den, why would he sit there to discuss the events preceding his visit. Isn't the rescue mission more important than getting fresh air and relaxing in a lion's den?
I assume you did this so Mr. A and Chukwudi will finally clash in a cataclysmic battle. Let's see how this goes. #Tuned.
