GEJ did well and PDP didn't waste 16yrs. We have been insulated from economic crisis for a long time now,even the catastrophe that would have been banking/financial sector collapse was averted. However, this trial and error buhari/apc lack capacity to manage prosperity albeit as it stands! Those whose only achievement is propaganda and glory stealing aka body language don't get it!!! In the fullness of time,the gains and resilience of the past will be completely reversed by buhari/apc the way he did in 83/85.

It is one thing to claim/have integrity while another to spread prosperity. Buhari has no record of shared prosperity and nigerians will ultimately regret the error of emotional choice of buhari.

Propaganda may win u election but, the arduous task of governance takes brains and well thought out policies and actions. We have been running a deficit budget for some time now. While oil price/revenue is largely to blame cos of our mono economic mainstay. However, only poor intellect will say the previous administration did nothing.

Anyway, buhari/apc magicians now have the stage let them deliver and stop blame game. Everything welfare has worsen since they came on board. Change should mean improvement not blaming and backward looking. Only an incompetent foreman blames his hammer!

Governor Adams and former governor Rotimi Ameachi shouted that do to the massive stealing in the federal level that's why the can't pay salaries.... Hmmmm

The Governor of ekiti state came out yesterday to say the least he has gotten under President Jonathan was N3.7billion but under President BUHARI what he got last month was N 1.2billion whereas his recurrent expenditures is N1.7million.... So I ask, who is still stealing?

Human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana on Sunday explained why the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) lacked power under the 1999 Constitution to take decision on the Bayelsa and Kogi States governorship elections.

According to him, since statutorily it requires five national commissioners, it would be illegal to conduct the elections with just two as presently constituted.

Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), also said INEC required a minimum of five national commissioners to form a quorum to take decision, citing the decision of a Federal High Court in the case involving the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and INEC.

He expressed aversion to a situation whereby the electoral umpire would be operating with only two commissioners.

The senior advocate argued that since the INEC “is currently constituted by two national commissioners, it lacks the power to fix dates for elections and conduct them.”

He added that the INEC “is not validly constituted as required by section 159 of the 1999 Constitution as amended its decisions are liable to be set aside. Even when the INEC was constituted by a chairman and three other national commissioners in 2010, the Federal High Court held that the electoral body was not competent to take any decision.”

He referred to the case of ACN v. IINEC & Ors, where the court declared the composition of the INEC illegal and unconstitutional on the grounds that the four national commissioners who were in office at the material time could not take any valid decision as the quorum of the INEC should not be less than five national commissioners at any point in time.

Instead of rushing to the Court of Appeal after the trial court delivered its judgment, Falana pointed out that the federal government filled the vacancies in INEC by appointing 11 national commissioners.

He added that the five- year term of office of the national commissioners of INEC “has since expired by effluxion of time. In the same vein, the term of office of over 20 Resident Electoral Commissioners has since expired.

“As the judgment of the Federal High Court cited above is binding on the federal government by virtue of section 287 (3) of the Constitution President Mohammadu Buhari ought to fill the existing vacancies in the INEC without any further delay.

“Otherwise, the results of the forthcoming governorship elections in Bayelsa and Kogi States as well as those of legislative elections in the various states of the federation are liable to be set aside on account of the illegal composition of the INEC.”

He further pointed out that the INEC “has announced the fixture of dates for the governorship elections in Bayelsa and Kogi States. In addition, a number of the governorship/legislative election petition tribunals sitting in the various states of the federation have annulled some results of legislative elections due to proven cases of electoral malfeasance.

“The tribunals has ordered the INEC to conduct fresh elections in the relevant constituencies within 90 days with effect from the dates of the verdicts,” the senior advocated explained.

HURIWA urged them to embrace their constitutional roles as those elected through a popular mandates to provide the much needed checks and balances through quality oversight responsibilities over members of the Executive and Judicial arms of government with the fundamental focus of providing quality good governance to the suffering millions of Imolites.

"HURIWA is shocked that there's indeed a docile and dysfunctional state House of Assembly in Imo State whose members pursue their selfish financial enticements even as the so- called chief executive allegedly embarks on reckless misapplication of public funds in pursuit of vainglorious adventures to paint himself as father Christmas in the North by building free schools for internally displaced persons.

First, I thank you all for your support especially at this trying times. You all know the level of financial support and invaluable time I put, in ensuring that President Buhari wins both the party primary and the presidential election. All that was done because of what the President promised me.

The President promised me the position of the secretary to government of the federation (SGF) in the presence of his wife, the day they came to ask for my support, in preparation to the party primaries. And based on the president’s promise, I withdrew my support for Rabiu Kwankwaso who was my closest friend in the Governors forum. Today Alhaji Kwankwaso sees me as his enemy.

Dakuku can confirm that. I don’t know what I did to Tinubu. I have begged him both in private and before other party members. Yet, he has decided to hunt me down. What you see playing out recently in our party, is not regional politics, but politics of the different parties and groups that make up the APC. Tinubu is seriously accusing me of being behind what played out in the National Assembly.

Rumor has it tat Mr Jim ovie was locked out from mr buhari meetings and some APC went on to celebrate that. Government can do that through backdoor channels and not the president saying it on international TV like CNN.
