The Ijaw Youth Council has dismissed the rumoured attack by military personnel on Alhaji Asari Dokubo, founder of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force (NDPVF).http://punchng.com/asari-dokubo-not-dead-iyc/

olaolaking:Leave them alone... It is all over the news. Check out the sources below - you will even see the bodies of NDA bandits. http://dailypost.ng/2016/08/27/troops-kills-5-militants-recovers-heavy-guns-ammunitions-photos/?utm_source=dlvr.it_dp1&utm_medium=facebook https://www.naij.com/945146-soldiers-militants-engage-fierce-gun-battle-five-feared-dead-photos.html |
KOKOwonder:Na only training? Can militants get 1/10th of the weaponry a national army have access to? The guy (misscall247) was only showing how "fantastically" ignorant he is. |
fanyogoforever:Politicians need to come out and defend themselves. Politicians, do you agree you are more corrupt than bankers? |
Am I dreaming? I thought CAN is the political arm of PDP
|
omenka:NA should change to full operation mode and cleanse those forests of criminals. |
PFRB:And where have you seen a national army carrying such weapons to war front? |
They were asking the army to come to the creeks. Now the army is in the creeks - where are they - the avengers? Are these not the people boasting, bragging and saying they would declare ND republic? They should use their missiles now may be that will stop the on going military training. Ordinary training, avengers ran away. What will happen if a full blown war with house-to-house search and aerial bombardment is launched? Dear Nigeria Military, whoever is found in the creek should either be shot on sight if he tries to run away or arrested. Only a criminal will be living in the creeks. |
The recent events have revealed unprecedented corruption by Nigerian politicians and their appointees. We have seen trillions of naira been looted unashamedly by our so called political leaders and in the process leaving the country in distress - no infrastructure, not health facility, no power, etc. Interestingly, we have also seen how bankers (our Harvard trained financial professionals) have collaborated with politicians to short-change the country. We can talk about cases of money laundering, packaging of fraud as legitimate transactions, hiding of government money in secret accounts. Recently, a shocking revelation emanated from NPA that about N11.23B was kept away from government in some banks. This despite directive from FG that all government revenue must be remitted to TSA - it is running to a year now FG gave this directive. A number of these thieving banks still refuse to declare or remit to government the fund in their care in flagrant violation of FG's directive. This is not only unfortunately but also criminal for any bank not to declare revenue it collected on behalf of government. This is pure stealing by our Harvard trained bankers. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/208530-alleged-n11-23billion-fraud-uncovered-npa-three-banks-fingered.html As if that was not enough, close to $2.3B of NNPC fund was traced to hidden accounts in some banks this week. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/08/list-of-nine-banks-barred-from-forex-transactions-by-central-bank-of-nigeria/ With these revelations, the usual currency round tripping and many other money laundering activities of our banks, I am beginning to think bankers are more corrupt than politicians and that without the active connivance and technical advice from bankers on how to hide, launder, etc, politicians wouldn't have been able to bring the country down on its knees. I therefore call on EFCC to beam a strong searchlight on the banking industry. If need be, the industry should be "fumigated" so we have only the sane ones in that industry even if they are locally trained. |
EastGold:If you don't steal what doesnt belong to you, your prayer will be answered. Otherwise... |
nnokwa042:Can you point me to one article where Yoruba people said Ilaje is not in Yorubaland or that Ileja people are not Yoruba? You must be very very ignorant. |
Wizzyblack3:You seem not to know we are facing serious foreign earning shortage at the moment. With the reduction in production occasioned by NDA and the supporters/sponsors, every drop of oil and other minerals will be required for exportation to boost government dollar revenue. For now, we have no choice. |
globe16:Why won't they go? We are not importing as much again... So let them go. When the economy is diversified and we begin to export, they will return. Brush up your brain... Nigeria is moving away from consumption to production. |
When you guys were bombing pipelines and killing soldiers, didn't we tell you? Anyway, you can protest peacefully - it is part of your fundamental human right. However, any attempt to go outside of the law, you know the consequences - military is everywhere already in ND. |
Mekwen:Abi ooo. |
maclatunji:A lot of Nigerians are ignorant and the reason politicians find it easy to manipulate them. People need to start seeing beyond their nose and be aware of happening around them. Even Angola here in Africa is in serious trouble now despite producing more barrels per day than Nigeria at the moment. |
Do they know the custodian of the sword (Tompolo) is wanted by FG? It's simple, produce Tompolo and the sword will be returned. |
Elliotwiz1:They are not doing enough... They should do more otherwise, military will go into full kinetic and nobody should come over here to cry victim when the action starts. |
anonimi:So, it is Jonathan that has been bombing and giving boko haram bloody nose since? Go and sit down somewhere and stop all these ignorant talks. |
DeKen:My friend, this is what happens everywhere and the reason we are saying Ijaw people should not provide protection for the criminals among them. They can form civilian JTF and work with security operatives to confront the criminals. The earlier this is done the better. Definitely when the military goes into action, everybody there will suffer including the innocents. We know some of the innocents are also happy with the bombing of national assets and have been praising the NDAs on social media. I really pity them. |
The Ijaw Peoples Development Initiative (IPDI) has condemned the Nigerian military's activity in the Niger Delta region, saying that its attacks on the region under the pretense of fighting insurgents amount to "genocide." The group called on the United States, United Nations, and Amnesty International to come to the aid of the people of the Niger Delta.http://saharareporters.com/2016/08/24/ipdi-warns-military-against-genocide-attacks-niger-delta-creeks Are these people serious at all? Where were they all these while when Ijaw youths/militants were gunning down security operatives including the military? Where were they when ND militants were bombing national assets thereby throwing the country into economic crisis and millions of Nigerians into darkness? Do they think international community and those bodies (UN, AI, etc) are not following the events in Nigeria? I doubt if any group or nation will come to the aid of Niger Deltans even if the military launches full war in the region. The region is known by foreigners and followers of events in Nigeria as lawless where all manners of crimes are committed - kidnapping of foreigners, oil theft, vandalism, etc. How will US support a region/people who constitute themselves into an impediment for international business? I'm still wondering who will take their call seriously ![]()

Wailers are not smiling at Kerry ![]() Thanks Kerry for your support during the 2015 general election. If not for your support, DPD/GEJ would have stolen our votes. |
Determined not to tolerate any further breach of extant financial regulations, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has barred nine banks from all foreign exchange transactions. The banks, THISDAY exclusively gathered this afternoon, were barred for failing to remit the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) dollar funds to the federal government’s Treasury Single Account domiciled in the CBN as directed by the presidency last year. The banks, whose suspension would remain in force until they remit all the funds to the TSA are United Bank for Africa (UBA) $530m; First Bank of Nigeria (FBN) $469m; Diamond Bank Plc ($287m); Sterling Bank Plc ($269m); Sky Bank Plc ($221m); Fidelity Bank ($209m); Keystone Bank ($139); First City Monument Bank (FCMB) $125m; and Heritage Bank ($85m). The CBN sources told THISDAY that further disciplinary actions awaited the erring banks after remitting the funds in full to the government’s coffers. |
Does this guy has any job doing at all? He listened to this, he listened to that. Is this all does for a living? May this country change permanently so the likes of this loud mouth will be forced to go farming. |
Bankers are worse than politicians - they should be dealt with. |
So some people know NDA militants and have been communicating with them. How are we sure Agiri is not a core supporter of NDA? Why can't SSS picks this one up and torture him very well - he will talk when a burner is placed under his balls. |
cktheluckyman:And where is Tompolo? As long as he is not walking freely on the streets of Nigeria, who cares? He can hide in the creeks, under water or in cave and suffering - good for him. All we know is, he is not among the free Nigerians. Criminals will not walk freely in Nigeria. |
DIVINE78:Leave the imbe. alone. When bombs and rockets start raining on ND villages, I will be in my house drinking coffee and watching the raids on youtube - - Arepo phase 2. Coming to nairaland to wail will not stop the war/bombing until the whole of ND is freed from dokubos, tompolos, etc and their supporters. |
cktheluckyman:YOu don't know anything yet. The new equipment including the drones coming from UAE have day and night aerial surveillance capabilities. Those who think they can use the cover of the night to bomb pipelines have to think twice before embarking on a suicide mission. Anyway, the heat is on them already and they know - the reason they are asking for dialogue and case fire. |
Goyim:Ceasefire between who and who? those militants and their supporters must have a taste of war so they don't constitute themselves into a nuisance again. |
That is the new Russian MI35M war helicopter currently on their way to Nigeria. |
