Is this not the man keeping $171k and N53m cash in his home?

Why can't he just keep shut?

Aisha has allowed herself to be used by greedy politicians. I hope she survives this.
I am sure the woman didn't know what she was doing. Watch the interview and you would see in her face how she took the discussion for granted.

Otherwise, how would she have allowed the likes of Tinubu (of unquenchable desire for power and money) push her into making such remarks before a journalist?

We are talking about economic crisis, insecurity, etc and APC politicians are fighting over positions and appointments - this is what I know Tinubu for. If the man is not stopped, he would put every Tinubu boy and family member in positions of authority. The likes of Tinubu should be caged permanently.

I doubt if that woman would be allowed to speak in public or to journalists again - she seems not to know the enormity of political power struggle in the country. She doesn't even know the implications of such an interview for her and her husband.

If the president is truly a dictator at home, definitely there will be repercussions for her and I really pity her because the Tinubus will not marry her if she is thrown out of her home.
PoliticsRe: Buhari: 'My Wife, Aisha, Belongs To My Kitchen, Living Room' by Wadeoye(m): 3:58pm On Oct 14, 2016
JumiR:
President Buhari has reacted to the interview his wife Hajia Aisha Buhari granted the British Broadcasting Corporation(BBC) where she said she may not support his re-election bid in 2019 if he so decides to run. Buhari reacted to this interview to reporters in Germany where he stood side-by-side with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Speaking on his wife's interview, President Buhari said, "I don't know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room and the other room."

Buhari, who laughed off his initial statement, further told the reporters that he hopes his wife will remember that he ran for president three times before succeeding on the fourth attempt. In his words, "So I claim superior knowledge over her and the rest of the opposition, because in the end I have succeeded. It's not easy to satisfy the whole Nigerian opposition parties or to participate in the government."

This is the man I voted for... That can't be pushed around by a woman - hopefully I will also be able to do this.

The woman is not happy that her husband is not dancing to her whims and caprices.

Compare this with the former mumu we had as president.

PoliticsRe: Buhari Is Making Appointments Without Tinubu's Knowledge- Lagos Assembly by Wadeoye(m): 9:58pm On Oct 12, 2016
The man has said it again and again that he belongs to no one, he belongs to everybody.
If Tinubu thinks Buhari belongs to him, he must be smoking something very dangerous to his health.
I'm sure Buhari made that statement because of the likes of Tinubu who will want to cut as much as possible for themselves - appointments, contracts, etc.

Like someone said, Tinubu is only popular in Lagos - I doubt his popularity in Osun as many people there see him as someone who wants to hijack the resources of the state for himself and his boys in Lagos.

The earlier he realizes this the better for him.

APC has a chance in Ondo this time around because it is obvious the candidate of APC is not Tinubu's boy. If a known Tinubu boy has been selected, there would have been no hope of APC wining the election.

I can only use this medium to appeal to Tinubu and his supporters to take it easy... Nigeria is for all of us and no one should force himself as landlord on others.

In inner South West, people don't like hearing that name "Tinubu" because they see him as someone who wants to enslave them and take all that belong to them for himself and his boys.

He should take it easy and avoid being relegated to a regional political warlord. He can easily, with APC at national level, become a statesman supporting leaders at local, state and federal levels with ideas and ensuring they work to better the lots of the people who voted for them.

Unfortunately, people see Tinubu as someone who always wants to corner as much as possible for himself and the errant boys who are loyal to him.

It is only Nigeria constitution that can confer immunity on people. Judicial officers and their co-corrupt supporters can't confer immunity on any judge.

morereb10:
It is pathetic that our judiciary have no say in a country who proud themselves as democratically incline nation. After waking up to news of abduction of judges by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerians have taken to Twitter to denounce what they call Gestapo-style arrests without following due process.

Most of the blame has gone directly to Pres. Muhammadu Buhari whose office is operationally in charge of the DSS. One voice coming loud, clear, and strong is that of the Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Chidi Odinkalu, who has called the simultaneous sting operation across half a dozen states as “intimidation of the judiciary”.

See tweets from the NHRC boss below…

http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/10/human-rights-commission-boss-mocks-dss.html
Blah blah blah..... The same set of people make noise everyday that our leaders are corrupt and that corruption is killing the country. Now, someone is trying to help out and confront this menace, our complaint experts are here again shouting rule of law. What kind of a people are these? Where in the world did you see the the kind of corruption we have witnessed in Nigeria?

If the raid was not carried out, how would you (mr noise maker) and the world have known that judges are warehousing huge amount of money in their bedrooms? If you don't have these evidence, how would you nail them and get them convicted in court? The same noise makers will come and say FG has not been able to convict anybody? How will they if they don't have evidence?

Yeye people. Who sent these ones (curses on the nation) to school for God's sake?

I don't understand why people are screaming "illegality" or "illegal raid". People should google what a sting operation is. sting operations are carried out world over to prevent suspects from tampering with evidence or running away. The FBI does it, the FSB does it, why should our DSS not do it?
None of the judges, including that criminal Justice Liman has come out to deny that money was found in their houses or that search warrants were not produced before their houses wee searched. Why are people here now concluding that search warrants were not produced?
We should stop condoning corruption and corrupt practises in this country.
That tells you the problem of Nigeria is not just leadership.

The followers are worse than their leaders and in such a country, only a dictator can turn the country around. Kill those that need to be killed among the so called leaders, jailed those that belong to prison and force the corrupt minded followers to change their ways.

- do you agree that millions of Nigerians are suffering today as a result of corruption on the part of our leaders?

It depends from the point of view. As long as it was not just an arrest but a surveillance with multiple evidences, there is a big chance these crooks are done for.

Hence the SSS submitted evidences of corruption to the NJC some months ago and they turned deaf to them, then I do not see this as not following due process.

From the look of things, one of the judges under Surveillance travelled to Qatar and came in with cash. The raid was an operation to catch them in the act.

I think this was a well planned operation and the DSS will expose the corruption.

The NJC failed the legal arm of the government and I do not think our respected lawyers should show any support for these corrupt men.

This shows that some of the Corrupt ones working free might still face charges later because they may be under surveillance.

Our Judiciary has no absolute power, but you can't arrest them unilaterally without orders, its like arresting a sitting President without any procedure, anything not through the NJC orders is an impunity simple.
It is explicitly stated in the constitution that the president has immunity meaning he can't be arrested or prosecuted. Where in the constitution it is stated that judges can't be arrested or prosecuted?

Judges can be investigated but through NJC, only through NJC you can investigate and nail any judge
I disagree with you... Judiciary doesn't have absolute power and they are not operating in their own world or a separate constitution. They can be arrested and prosecuted even without any NJC investigation.

The issue is, they still have to be taken to court for prosecution where they will have the opportunity like any other accused persons to defend themselves.

"Separation of powers" is a well-defined constitutional concept - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Separation_of_powers - and the point is to prevent governments from degenerating into tyrannies. And yes, it does mean that one arm of government can't simply decide that it has the responsibility to unilaterally purge another, otherwise a slide into dictatorship would be almost inevitable.
You haven't answered my question... Which section of the constitution says judges can't be investigated or arrested? To the best of my knowledge, judges don't have immunity.
PoliticsRe: Names Of Supreme Court Justices Arrested By Dss by Wadeoye(m): 4:48pm On Oct 08, 2016

There is no absolutely doubt that the Nigerian judiciary is rife with corruption and in dire need of cleaning out, but blatantly violating the separation of powers is simply not the right way to do it. If this constitutional restriction can be violated with impunity, what stops Buhari or a successor from ignoring any other such restraints? No man or woman can be bigger than the constitution, no matter how well-meaning they may be.
What do you mean by violating the separation of power? Are you saying if a judge is found to have committed a crime, he/she can't be arrested by security operatives? Which section of our constitution puts judges above the law and says they can't be arrested by DSS/police or even army if required?

I despise corruption as much as anyone, but there are good and bad ways of combating it; subverting the rule of law and undermining the independence of the judiciary is definitely not one of them. On what constitutional grounds can the DSS carry out an action such as this?

Even if these justices are each ten times as corrupt as Sani Abacha, I would think that the right way to handle the situation is by impeaching them, and having them tried by the appropriate NASS committees, not through the executive arm issuing orders to have them locked up. This looks to me to be a clear violation of the separation of powers. Of course, given how little regard most Nigerians have for such constitutional niceties, I fully expect loads of idiots to cheer on this action regardless.
Any approach used to combat corruption is good as long as the motive is to punish the culprit.

Ordinary thieves get burnt alive for stealing N10k. While should elites stealing billions and leaving many people dead in the process enjoy due process?

What is the due process in a judge keeping N300m cash in his bedroom? Due process requires that such huge money should be in his bank account and/or declared. Someone who has not followed due process as a judge should enjoy due process when the consequences of his actions stare him in the face.

People like those judges should be thrown in jail without trial.

Never in the history of Nigeria there been a deliberate attempt to emasculate and destroy state institutions like we are seeing under General Buhari, it appears there is a systematic plot to silence everyone except Buharis cows.

These people are playing a script, the arrest of the Next CJN on trumpt up charges of corruption was well timed to give Buhari the perfect excuse not to present his name for confirmation as CJN as such keeping him incommunicado will allow the current Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Mahmud Mohammed due for retirement by November 10, to handover to The next in rank to Onnoghen Hon. Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad from Bauchi State. a Northern Muslim as acting CJN .

Justices Onnoghen who is the second in rank and has been nominated by the Federal Judical Service commission (FJSC) as successor to the outgoing Chief Justice of Nigeria just last week

Most likely the hawks were taken unawares by the FJSC nomination and decided to strike before the national judical council (NJC) makes the final Nomination

Since after Justice Irikefe in 1985, the North has produced virtually all the CJNs till date: Justice Mohammed Bello (1987-1995), Justice Muhammadu Lawal Uwais (1995-2006), Justice Salisu Modibo Alfa Belgore (2006-2007), Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi (2007-2009), Justice Aloysius Iyorgyer Katsina-Alu (2009-2011), Justice Aloma Mariam Mukhtar (2012-2014) and the presiding deity, Justice Mahmud Mohammed (2014 till date).

No matter what a judge is perceived to have done against the APC whether true or imaginary it does not warrant the kind of criminal treatment been meted out to them, the Gestapo manner in which the homes of Judges were raided and members of their families beaten up points to the fact that Nigeria has indeed gone to the dogs a nation where the only laws that exists are the laws that suits the hawks.

The invasion of the homes of the high & Supreme court Judges at an unholy hour is part of a wider plot to turn the judiciary into a bingo in the hands of Buhari and his gang, initially they plotted to use the courts to sweep the leadership of the the National Assembly into Kuje prison, when it failed the turned on the courts.

Everyone knows the incompetent and clueless Buhari will be the simplest President to be impeached if the National Assembly decides to thus his attempt to plant a stooge as CJN and destroy an institution.

Whether Buhari will be allowed to destroy what is left of Nigeria will be known in the next few days
Shut up man!

If Onnoghen has been involved in corruption as a judge, I support any attempt and efforts to enure he doesn't become CJN. Why should a corrupt judge be allowed to lead the Judiciary at a time government is working hard to sanitize the system?

He should be locked up without trial if need be.
