Joy2dworldxyz: You are right but we are talking about a greater percentage of people involved. Many wouldn't have if they were working.
That doesn't mean those who wants to be addicted wouldn't be. Like me, I work, I bet too, but cos of my schedule I hardly visit the bet shop. I do my things online. But u see,
So employ the youths, over 70% of those guys in that shop won't be there again. That's what I mean. leave that talk, those guys there even look like students sef, check them well, there is no middle aged man there. Some of them come night class and slept there. |

Joy2dworldxyz: See, once you are actively engaged, betting is the least thing u want to be addicted to...
Just imagine the situation of those guys, who is working and have time to go stay in a bet shop from morning till midnight to the point of sleeping over....
They never wished for that... Oga, betting is a choice. I know of a guy who has a Barber shop, but you will hardly see him in his shop, he is always in a bet shop, isn't such a person actively engaged? Some students who still received money from their parents are always in a bet shop, some of these students even bet their school fees. Betting has nothing to do with actively engaged |

Joy2dworldxyz: We are not talking about when betting came, we are talking about when the youths of this country had no more hope on the government. We are talking about when they had to go to the bet shop from early morning and stay toll following morning. We are talking about when betting became the last hope of our youths......
I hope u now understand what we are talking about bEtting didn't become the last hope of the youths, it's the last hope of directionless people. Betting is not particular to Nigeria alone, Casino Hall's in other countries makes in millions of dollars daily from fools too. If betting is your last hope, u are just a fool, don't blame the govt |

Even people that drink to stupor, will try to get home haba ! ova 10 random people just find a "reason" to sleep on the floor ... afi coincidence if people can leave their houses and sleep in a bar, if people can leave their houses and sleep in a brothel, why won't these ones sleep in a bet shop. You are underestimating the power behind addiction |

it is you that care about body odor n what not, in the ghetto owo ni koko, any problem can be converted to a source of income asap, if you can't jump gutter there are boiz ready to carry you nd collect money.
How can people who have bed, fan nd a room leave all that to go n sleep on a bear tiles, can you do it because you are tired or your house is far so you just sleep on the floor
wehdone sir Those guys may not be homeless Oga. The fact that you can't think of any other thing than homelessness baffles me. While they could be homeless, there could also be a chance that those guys have homes but decide to sleep there for another reason |

Nigerians now struggle to feed so i don't know where they'd get the means to farm, expecially those that do not have lands very good, I love this ur mentality, just wait for the govt to give you land and loans. |

chidiokay: Its shocking a lot of people that have commented on these pictures are not thoughtful enough I have entered betting shops and at some point own one, never seen anything like that, the question to unravel the picture a. will shop owner allow boiz sleep like that during business hour ..i.e day time b. Is it possible to see over 10 youths sleep during the day in one place My guess is that the shop owner outsource that place as a "Shelter" to street boiz to lay there heads at night, might be free or they pay a token
its goes beyond betting spirit or whatever ... apparently those are homeless boiz that's how u unravel the thing. There are places in this country that is bustling even at night, the betshop could be stationed in such a place, these guys could play bet, got tired and sleep. I don't know any business owner that will allow homeless people to sleep in his shop, that place will stink of body odour and littered with dirt's that it will kill his business. These are not homeless people |

I once used to be a lover of football bets, not this type óò, but as soon as I bcam fully engaged, this menace stopped. Don't blame hardship, this is not the effect of bad govt, a graduate Hawking water is effect of bad govt, not this one. These are people that doesn't want to work yet wants to make money, and they don't want to start small and grow, they want to turn their 100 naira to 15k in 90mins. Some of them even have small businesses that fetch them little money, but after the day's work, this is where they spend the money. |

Ofunaofu: When the Naira was crashing against the dollar at an alarming rate, we were told by this government and their supporters that the Naira was finding its true value.
So what's happening? Is the naira appreciating to its true value now?
All this propaganda being dished out won't help this government; rather, it will destroy it.
Which one is subsidizing the naira? Every country defends its currency. calm down, Binance was also playing it's part against the naira. One thing is for sure, subsiding the naira is not good for the country, u can imagine some companies sell their products in dollars while operating in Nigeria, that is because they aren't sure about the value of the naira. If we are going to be economically strong, we have to make these investors have faith in our currency. |
Business › Re: Does Naira Appreciation Against Dollar Ensure Price Reduction? by Wainey: 6:35am On Mar 22, 2024 |
vowiski: These are cosmetic changes, Naira will depreciate back..
Until we reduce importation…
Paying FX backlogs will always clog back.. If steps are not taken to. Especially grow what we eat.. we actually export more than what we import, the naira depreciation comes from floating the naira, money was spent heavily to subsidize the naira. Secondly those binance dealt with the naira and depreciated it daily. Whatever you see is the true value of Naira and only when investors knows the true value of your money, will they buy things from you, you can imagine some companies in the country sell their products and services with dollars instead of the naira, this is because the naira is sugarcoated with subsidy, now they can sell their goods and be sure they are getting the actual price. Subsiding everything in this country was the worst decision our leaders made, I pray they get it right this time |

Ofunaofu: The way you guys shower praise on these individuals makes me wonder.
How do you measure performance and growth?
How much was Naira exchanging for a dollar when Tinubu took the oath of office?
How much is it exchanging today?
Nigerians can only take these people seriously when the naira begins to appreciate below the #700 to a dollar when Tinubu took over. Not crashing the Naira to over #1900 to a dollar with its attendant negative economic impact, then begin to appreciate it to where it is today, and you are rolling out the drums, praising the same people who made the Naira worthless.
Right now, you are blaming the marketers and importers, accusing them of being greedy. Who provided them that opportunity? Tinubu, through his thoughtless economic policies You should rather ask how much was spent to keep the naira at 750. Truth is that, we can't subsidize the naira for a long time. |
