betting came during the time of goodluck. Merrybet was reigning then
We are not talking about when betting came, we are talking about when the youths of this country had no more hope on the government. We are talking about when they had to go to the bet shop from early morning and stay toll following morning.
We are talking about when betting became the last hope of our youths......

I hope u now understand what we are talking about

bEtting didn't become the last hope of the youths, it's the last hope of directionless people. Betting is not particular to Nigeria alone, Casino Hall's in other countries makes in millions of dollars daily from fools too.
If betting is your last hope, u are just a fool, don't blame the govt

See, once you are actively engaged, betting is the least thing u want to be addicted to...

Just imagine the situation of those guys, who is working and have time to go stay in a bet shop from morning till midnight to the point of sleeping over....

They never wished for that...

Oga, betting is a choice.
I know of a guy who has a Barber shop, but you will hardly see him in his shop, he is always in a bet shop, isn't such a person actively engaged? Some students who still received money from their parents are always in a bet shop, some of these students even bet their school fees. Betting has nothing to do with actively engaged

You are right but we are talking about a greater percentage of people involved. Many wouldn't have if they were working.

That doesn't mean those who wants to be addicted wouldn't be. Like me, I work, I bet too, but cos of my schedule I hardly visit the bet shop. I do my things online. But u see,

So employ the youths, over 70% of those guys in that shop won't be there again. That's what I mean.

I was in Woolich Arsenal, UK sometime ago and just out of the train station, some young healthy Nigerians are begging me for money. I was wondering what the issue was. I later learnt they are UK citizens and they prefer not to work. If you give them any money, they use it on drugs. Could this also be as a result of bad governance in UK or a Tinubu effect ?

Same thing applicable here in the US.

The black race need to have a change of orientation. It’s endemic.

It is in Owerri. Imo state. That was the same Owerri people hijacked and looted a truck of Onion in 2022.

Until the government ban all these betting houses and virtual apps, it's only going to get worse. They even have picture of Okocha endorsing the betting house.

The billions of dollars being spent by these gamblers on betting could be used to invest in themselves. They could invest in IT courses but no, they would rather spend their money on get rich schemes like betting and crypto.
Just tell us that it's APC state

Who stopped them from being actively engaged? There are educated people and also people who have gained freedom from apprenticeship doing odd jobs when the right job hasn't come. I worked as a labourer before I got employed in a decent organization and I was a graduate already.

What stops these ones from working as sales boys or cleaners or petty traders instead of wasting away doing nothing? Why can't they learn how to ride okada or Keke napep and start from there? Why can't they hawk bread or hawk drinks and satchet water with wheel barrows? People no dey hawk CD with wheelbarrows?

Stop making excuses. It's not about the government alone. It's more about the individual.
