I used to have serious anger management issues in addition to a tendency to becoming violent when i was younger, with time, i learnt the silent treatment. i once ignored my younger sister for two years (this is to show u how xtreme my case is). the silent treatment is highly toxic and kills relationships quickly and as a result of this, i always make sure i apologise and plead within 24hours of offending someone. i dont like keeping malice but when the need arises, i can literally ignore someone so hard that the person will begin to doubt his or her own existence. Some people have an exaggerated view of their self worth and can never apologise to people they offend irrespective of the circumstances, i always make it a point of duty to make people know where they went wrong and if they dont make the necessary amendments, i initialize the 'silent treatment' protocol which could last for mins, hours, days, weeks, months or even years till we drift apart and become strangers if the need arises.
Thanks for sharing.
Do you know your temperament? Try and pick this book WHY YOU ACT THE WAY YOU DO. by Tim Lahaye to read. You are blessed!

This is the most childish form of behavior... I do not like it and don't encourage it. A friend and I are going through the same problem, perhaps this is it. Something happened two weeks ago which is obviously not my fault; this happened on a Wednesday, he contacted me on Thursday and apologized for what he did and said "have a great day". I called and text him on Saturday, no response. The following week, I called and sent him texts several times, he did not respond. I called again this week and then reached out to one of his friends to know if he was okay; dude confirmed that he was in NY for the weekend. Well guess what, I told him to pass on the message to him. Tell him I said good luck because I wouldn't be contacting him again; I don't have time for grown men who act like women. That was it and that's it for me. If we ever talked again, I will cut off the friendship immediately.
Eeyaa, sorry for your experience.
Pls don't cut off. Pray for him. It is a WEAKNESS which MOSTLY INTROVERTED persons are prone to. Just see how you can help them overcome.
Thanks dear1.

Wanna share my experience at GTB Central business District in Abuja here.

Seems Coolkizzy and Denn are both having conflicting notion about the account opening and all.
The fact here is that both of you are partially right.
Today at the bank I was required to present these:

1. The original CAC certificate plus the other documents included on that dispatch brown envelop from CAC

2. Valid ID

3 TIN number

4. Company stamp (for business name)
Stamp + seal (for LtD)

5. You need to guarantors from the same bank (ie if u are designated to Gtb...u need 2 (two) guarantors from gtb that operate cooperate accounts with the bank...same applicable to other banks....from what my account officer said, u could still get guarantors to sign the form for you from another bank BUT the hitch as regards this is that...they 'll have to mail the other bank from which the guarantors are from to confirm b4 allowing you to access your funds but this doesn't mean your account can't be opened. So the long and short of the idea of getting guarantors from same bank to sign on the form is just for the EASE and Convenience of Confirming their status as regards standing in for you in case of any need for the bank to contact you.

5 photocopies of these documents will be made in the bank as a photocopier is readily available

6 you'll also have to fill in the cooperate aCcount form patiently and meticulously. The Questions are quite straight forward and easy 45mins max u should be done.

7. The account officer asked a couple of questions as regards you place of business
Or residential address as the case may be.
Simple questions like : color of the building, gate color..fenced or not? Etc
This is because the banks will still verify your address using their independent agent to either get a clear glimpse about the customer in question and check-mate fraud in future if need be.

8. Youwin gave banks a one week deadline to revert back to them as regards accounts and all. So the earlier you get done with yours ...the faster you get your tranch 1. As simple as that.

Finally, wishing all in the house a hitch free account opening experience where ever you are. This's my own little quota to show appreciation for this wonderful thread so far.

E-hugs.
Thanks for sharing bro.

Hello,

I have a serious issue now. The card reader I ordered for are not working. I tested them on my Home Theatre. It iss micro SD USB 2.0 card reader.

I put in my memory card then plugged it to my Home theatre and didn't display the music in my memory card meaning is not working.

I tested up to 10pieces of the card reader no one of them works.

My buyer protection will soon expire. Thinking of opening a dispute. What should be my next move?
Should I open a dispute?
Sorry about this experience. I suggest you open dispute fast as you look for how to send them back.

No where.
You are not alone.
I got your conditions and I am doing good.
Stop it. Be strong.
But, be weak, if need be.
Cry, if it makes you strong.
Crouch, if it ultimately puts you on hind feet.
Be suicidal, if only it fires your hunger for life.
Live life: that is the ultimate.

Denn:
Facts:
The machines are all imported and none manufactured here in Nigeria. So if you are buying from Nigeria, there is a middle man cost already involved (not less than 25% on personal experience).

Alibaba and other verified b2b sites can give you so many options to choose from. The chinese on alibaba have very impeccable customer service and are always ready to explain and put you through. You also have the option of talking to more than one manufacturer, request to visit and inspect (if you can afford personally) and make important decisions.

Installation can be done by expatriates and they are ridiculously cheap...I am getting an expatriate from china in to manage the installation of my equipment and the company is charging 80USD per day apart from ticket and hotel bills. A Nigerian will charge you more.

CAVEAT
Open your eyes...
Not all sellers on b2b sites worldwide are genuine.
Do not buy from re-sellers. There are two types of businesses on b2b sites...re-sellers and manufacturers.

The re-sellers are middlemen and post what they don't have. Once you show interest, they ask you for payments then in turn go to the manufacturers to produce. the mark up cost is what you were trying to avoid earlier. In addition, quality is not assured as they are not in full control of the production process.

The manufacturers are cheaper, they are more flexible to your requirements and welcome you to visit their factory.

You can request for videos of the processes, request to inspect site.

Finally, ask for SONCAP....Standard Organization Of Nigeria Conformity Assessment Program Certificate. You need it to clear your goods at the port...Ask after you get an acceptable proforma invoice. This is to minimize the exporter passing the cost to you.

Once you get your acceptable proforma, show it to a clearing agent to give you an estimate of the clearing cost.

Register your form m (now called e-form m) on the portal BEFORE Shipment. ...

discuss further with your banker on this.

Thanks
Thanks Denn. This is an eye opener to me.

This explains me,though over the years,i've been able to come out of my shell slowly. Till date i only have 2 friends. One during my undergraduate and one at masters level. The only place i feel comfortable is at home and in church. Had to join the sunday school teachers after 5 years of pressure from my pastor. I had serious inferiority complex for years coupled with my small stature but i have been able to overcome that. I don't go to parties and if i am forced to attend social functions,i go just dey observe. Lol!
I hate being @ spot-light,i prefer the behind the scene tasks. I pour out my thoughts through writing. I write alot(poems and songs),i find solace in writing. Most people don't know i stay at home because they hardly see me. Some will say"ha!are u still in Lagos,we thought you've relocated while some will say it to my face...na pride wan kill am".
I'm proud to be an Introvert,it's who i am.
Great!

I would try This soap "ClearVelvet".
Used to suffer acne but used Neutrogena Acne-on-the-spot for well over 10 years. Small tub, but scarce in Europe and Naija, got my supplies from the US (drugstore). I wanted to cut down dis addiction so I Tried the ClearVelvet and within 4days, I saw improvement and lightening of the acne scars.
It may do same for you.
Hope this helps.

Denn:
i do not think that was the criteria.

My business plan involves 100% importation of both raw materials and equipment.

I am into crop farming with equipment being sourced from China and Netherlands. Seeds are coming in from Kenya and South Africa while my fertilizers (in liquid form) are also imported. The only thing Nigerian is me and my workers....and the land.

I can remember vividly that i was asked the same question and i provided the answers above.

One thing i noticed is that YouWin is actually interested in Innovative Physical products that have a ready market. Solutions that are beneficial to already exisging value chains.

For example, in agric, we already have a lot of poultry businesses financed by Youwin. Youwin would definitely want to see what you plan to do differently as a poultry farmer. If it is the same default of getting land, buying cages and DOC, your chances of winning are quite slim...except you have an existing business. There are many value chain businesses in poultry than egg production viz feeds, drugs, meat processing etc.

Secondly, some businesses might bring in income but might not be practically justifiable to the committee. Internet marketing comes to mind. selling e-books, get-rich-fast schemes, etc. No matter how brilliant your idea might be, it doesnt cut it.

Finally, A lot of brilliant ideas were not picked simply because there was a quota system. 1,500 winners had to emerge. if we had 1501 extremely brilliant ideas, one has to be dropped. Unfortunately, 750 were dropped.

This implies that the 1500 winnners were just lucky. Nothing more. It doesnt even imply that the 1500 winners had the best ideas....simple luck and grace.
Ore, what is your business about pls? I have noticed your intelligence and experience in the business world. Thumbs up!
<<<modified>>> just checked out your self designed website... You are great bro. The site looks pro! I would have to check again with a computer to be able to give final verdict. It looks like you used Joomla to design?
