Like an expert puts it, Boko Haram insurgency has been stopped by the NA, what we have not is terrorism. Whether Insurgency or terrorism, this killings have to stop. We appreciate the Military's effort in this warfare and our hearts are with the people of Northern Nigeria.

These mishaps are clearly avoidable if government and the people did not neglect simple basic procedures.
We need to start doing things right to get going. It's unfortunate how promising young Nigerians die from accidents that are avoidable. May God save this nation. RIP to the dead.

If Kanu is seen as a true patriot I can't fault his raising profile, however, I ask my Igbo friends why is it now that this call is strong? Jonathan, a President from SS was in Aso Rock for more than 4yrs, no such agitation came up. If there could be a perfect time, I think it was during Jonathan. He could not even push further the recommendations from the CONFAB he convened under his watch. Now, every one is calling for restructuring and Kanu is not stopping his agitation. Can there be more to this?

You beat me to this. While I appreciate ingenuity, the much talked about Allen Samuel's toy car is really not worth the panegyric. What he did was to modify an already built toy car. I once bought one of such cars for my son. A police toy car.

The man behind the Alabukun Powder

Jacob Sogboyega Odulate who was born in 1884 in Ikorodu Lagos created what later became the legendary Alabukun drug in 1918. According to report, Odulate at age 14 trekked from Lagos to Abeokuta for three months where he later established his pharmaceutical invention.

The production of the Alabukun drug

In 1918 when Nigeria was still under serious colonial rule, Odulate with the help of his wife and children go to work at his laboratory and workshop at Sapon in Abeokuta. Most of its ingredients came from Liverpool and includes acetylsalicylic acid and caffeine as its active ingredients. “A packet contains 760 mg of acetylsalicylic acid and 60 mg of caffeine making a total of 820 mg.”

The drug became popular among those who preferred local medication to the European one because the powdery form of the Alabukun drug resembled traditional method of drug making which involved grinding the bark of trees into a powdery form. For others, Alabukun was a bridge between the traditional medication and the drugs introduced by the colonialist and was therefore easy to embrace by consumers.

Cure

Alabukun has been fondly referred to as “gbogbonise” especially by Yoruba-speaking Nigerians which literally translates to “a drug that cures all ailment.” This is because it is believed that it has the power to treat different illness especially pain, cold, headache and feverishness.

Why Alabkun is not advertise

Although very popular, Alabukun has found a way into the heart of Nigerians without being advertise. According to report, the drug was spread by word of mouth while drug shops were encouraged to recommend it as a treatment for cold and headache. The feedback was that it worked very fast and being cheap, it soon gained steady rise and popularity. From there, it spread quickly from the south west to other part of Nigeria and then to Benin Republic.

In situations like this, the fear of the unknown usually fill the minds of the victims on breaking away, I don't rush to blame them .Will another job come any time soon if I resign, not even mentioning the victimisation she/he would have gone through before giving in? Today, throughout Nigeria, *it is only in Igbo Land that no other Nigerian is allowed to gain admission into their Universities*, Employment or Political appointments in their domains.

Yet, in the North and the South West *there are States that have appointed Igbos* as Commissioners and Advisers eg Lagos, Kano, Yobe, Borno etc.

As big as *the Onitsha International Market, no other tribe is allowed* from Yoruba land or the North to have even a corner shop, yet they are in all Markets across the North and South West without any hinderance.

Anyim Pius Anyim, is the only SGF in Nigerian History that has *100% Igbos as support Staff* in his Office. Is he an SGF for Nigeria or Biafra?
