Quick question; for those resuming sept/oct who have received their student visas, did you pay your full tuition fees (ie for the entire duration of your program) before you were asked to come for your visa? These embassy guys just sent me a mail stating that the aliens authority are requesting for proof that I have transferred the entire course fees so I should send them proof of this payment (PS this is diff from blocked account which I have already sorted out). This is a two-year masters and the school allows for instalmental payments albeit due in specific deadlines. Paying the entire thing go be die o. Is this what everyone has had to do?
entire Course fee, now these is sumting to worry about. What I think am aware of is sum skools that charge tuition fees wiuld want you to pay certain amout upfront which of course refundable upon certain conditions like evidence of visa refusal and all that..the aliens authority inthe city where u intend to skool may and maynot need to see a proof of finance or payment of ur tuition quarterly, bi annually or yearly buh I guess u can discuss that wit your skool, they r in a better position to handle thz than the Embassy. come to think of it, whats the name of the skool and wht city is it located

Mr Walesby is the certification by high court accepted?

How come no1 is toking about it? People rather spend all day in queues at the german embassy than use the court method.

There must be a reason. Is it cos its free @ embassy whereas the court demands a fee ?

yea it is.. it would prolly cost a token. Depends on ur negotiating skills

I would advise those that needs to do certification to pls use the High Court or a Notarist .The whole process is getting very hot now. Was at the embassy today around 7:30 to sign my blocked account and I was told I was late and the ibo man told me come back nextweek. Samething for some folks I saw that wanted to certify docx. Rather than delay ur admission process, pls endeavour to check alternatives. I would av used an alternative for the blocked account if I could though..That Ibo/calabar/akwaibom man no nyc at all ooo

An applicant. Though I have read so much about the city. If I can still found those links in my archive, I will post it here for you to read. My admission to the school has gotten to an advanced stage before I withdraw it and substitute it with another due to the restricted admission of a thing for my intending course. Shalom
alright... best of luck..

You still have till the end of first semester to submit the certificate if you can't get it prior or during admission period. You can apply without the A1 but get it done when you get to Germany and submit it at the end of your first semester. Note: Engineering and management is under uni-assist while international retail management is not; you will have to apply to the school directly for IRM. Also, they need only 50 students for Engineering and management and the course is with restricted admission. it is only little percentage that was given to international student out of the overall 50 students needed. Finally, the course is not yet accredited because they just started the course this semester. Shalom
blessings brother, r u an applicant or a student in the school or city..

@wales, the programme is bsc in engineering management and bsc in international retail management.
thats my choice of course too...IRM. buh when i applied, German proficiency wasnt a requirement until I saw that they have updated their page yesterday. However, its still stated that u have up until end of the 1st semester to prove A1 proficiency and German Course(A1 level I guess) its in the curriculum of your 1st semester which invariably you must pass at the end of the semester. I dont kno how thz will be assessed, mayb a conditional Offer will be given until you pass the german course in ur 1st semester or its a requirement you must meet before any offer is given. Which ever way, I am already in my 2nd month (A1) in goethe, hopefully would b done by July.

Hello house, if I am to attend a non tuition free university (Private University) and lets say am paying €500 monthly and I want to proof my finacial muscle or capability. Would the funded Blocked a/c of €8040 alone be sufficient or do I need to show another statement, mayb local bank statement or pehaps fund the blocked account with both the living and tution expenses expected for a year...thats like 500×12mnth(6000+8040). €14,040.. Pls Guys, weigh in am actually preparing my docx for interview.

Dear Collins,

thank you for your e-mail.

We gladly provide you with further information about the calculation of your final grade.

As the university certificate shows, your graduation score is 3.06 (out of 5).
According to anabin, the maximum score for the bachelor's degree is 5 and the minimum passing score is 2.

The conversion from your graduation score into a German grade is carried out, using the so-called "Modifizierte Bayerische Formel":

              Nmax - Nd
mark = -------------------- * 3 + 1
            Nmax - Nmin

N max (maximum mark) = 5
N min (lowest pass mark) = 2
N d (your graduation score) = 3.406

                5 - 3.06
mark = -------------------- * 3 + 1 = (0,646 * 3) +1 = 1,939 + 1 = 2,939
                5 - 2

Hence, your grade is equivalent to a German grade of 2,9.
Within the German grading system the grade of 1,0 is the best possible grade and the grade of 4,0 the minimum passing grade.

Anabin clearly states that 1 means pass but 2 is the minimal grade point average for a degree.

We hope this information is helpful for you and wish you all the best for your application.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate contact us again.

Kind regards

Please guru in the house...how true is this?...honestly m' confused.

Wrong as far as I kno.... The lowest passin grade on a scale of 5point GPA is 1 not 2. I.e 5-1 NOT 5-2..(Denominator).....Mathematically equals A german Scale of 2.45 if you recalculate which is pretty good for admission into some masters program across germany. #BestOfLuck..

Yes, it would be possible! As long as it is student visa for student visa. E.g no be language or preparatory course in place of masters/Bsc or vice versa.

This excerpt from Wikipedia on the article, "German Economy" could help you answer you second question.
"The following top 10 list of German
cities with the highest income per person is
based on a study by the Cologne Institute for
Economic Research on July 31, 2013. [69]
1. $128,000 Wolfsburg , Lower Saxony
2. $114,281 Frankfurt am Main , Hesse
3. $108,347 Schweinfurt, Bavaria
4. $104,000 INGOLSTADT, BAVARIA
5. $99,389 Regensburg, Bavaria
6. $92,525 Düsseldorf , North-Rhine Westphalia
7. $92,464 Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Rhineland-
Palatinate
8. $91,630 Erlangen, Bavaria
9. $91,121 Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg
10. $88,692 Ulm, Baden-Württemberg"

let me stop here, I think I have exhausted the quota for the number of allowable post for the day on this thread before I get attacks for posting or answering too much grin.

Good luck!
Thanks man...appreciate

Hello guys, I kinda have a problem with respect to my choice of school for Visa Application. I already possess an Offer from a Private University in berlin SRH hoshculen Berlin and am also processing admission into Technical Hoschulen Ingostaldt (THI) which is where I realy want to go but there is a problem. For me to honour the offer in berlin, I need to make a commitment fee of €1700. Unfortunately THi would not respond to my app until Mid August for a winter starter which myt be insufficient for Visa App.

Would it be possible to honour the Berlin Uni in applying for Visa and when granted resume in THI....

Moreso, what can you say about schooling and hustling in Ingostaldt for a naija boy.

thanks Guys...

Now thats the problem....Am on a strictly English Taught programme buh I av started arming myself up with German language. Get my language proficiency to A1 before I leave Naija by attending goethe institute. Would that be sufficient enough and plus ow fast can I secure a job that requires english speakers in dresden. I have sufficient money to finance my programme and stay in the first year, continuity is probably my problem....Whats your advice
