Politics / Re: YPP Gives Tinubu 48 Hours To Suspend Interior Minister, Tunji-Ojo by Wallade(m): 11:34am On Jan 10 |
forgiveness: I will be honest with you, the person that opined that it is conflict of interest is very correct. The minister, husband, is on the federal executive council that approves such contracts. He was part of the executive council meeting where the contract was approved. His wife being on the board of directors of that company implies a conflict of interest. The ideal thing is for him to prevent companies where he and his wife are directors from bidding for contracts with FGN pending his service to the nation as a minister. That is the ideal and proper thing to do. The company can do private sector business and contracts while the wife is on the board as a director of the company. |

DeLaRue: If it can be established that Tunji Ojo and his wife resigned as director of the company when he became a house of representatives member and there has been a change of directors filed with CAC. I can excuse him. Though I know that he is in that company in proxy and must have been manipulating things in favor of that company while in govt. However, he needs to distance that company from government contracts going forward. I opine that he should retain his job especially because I see corruption fighting back at him in his case. The monumental and unprecedented development of a seamless system to acquire and renew passport without having to bribe some touts and Nigerian Immigrantion staff is definitely annoying some people. None of Nigerian politicians can be certified a saint; they all have skeletons in their cupboards. 1 Like |

Jackie999: Babe, let that man go forever. Don't even maintain a friendship with him so you don't get tempted to go back to the relationship. There are some other men for you out there. He is married and unwilling to let go of his marriage. If he tells you that he will divorce his wife, he must be trying to cajole or deceive you. He was your di..ck, definitely not your husband. You haven't done anything wrong, you were only being a woman in love and following your heart but it is time to stop, think deeply, terminate the unfaithful relationship and move on. Keep being a loving, beautiful and great soul. 1 Like |

motymop: I have no time to further waste with you on this topic. My position about NHF and pension is too complicated for you to understand and I get it. There is no point informing you any further. But note that life is influenced strongly by the value we add to life and wealth we are able to create for ourselves and the society. The opportunities to create wealth for ourselves are abound and readily available for smart and or hard workers in Europe, USA, Canada, Australia etc than in Nigeria where there is no equal opportunity and the politicians, elites and wealthy prefer to improve their wealth and power at the expense of the average and poor. Less I forget, the average income earning family or persons in Nigeria are gone with the 1990s. It is either you are rich or poor now in Nigeria. |

FreeStuffsNG: Did you say this: "President Buhari, he is a very upright and incorruptible Patriot"? Do you understand the grammar - upright and incorruptible? You are joking right. Buhari M. is a very corrupt man. He is extremely deceptive with his corruption. For you to come out here to defend him; that is ridiculous and tells a lot about your own character too. Define a patriot for us? Who are the patriots in Nigeria? |

motymop: If this is true then explain why the workers are still quiting their jobs and leaving the country for better life, - "Government workers and many workers in private organizations all have pension schemes, mortgage and car loans and health insurance with an approved Nhs service providers". I have seen several managers of banks quit their jobs to Japa. I have seen oil company staff quit their jobs and japa. Car loan is still payable from your salary, in Nigeria and abroad. Health Insurance is standard practice in many countries, especially in the advanced countries (where your fellow Nigerians dey japa to reside and work) provided you have work permit in that country. Pension Schemes in Nigeria is a topic for another day. I strongly feel it is skewed in favor of government, pension fund administrators, owners of the PFAs and banks. How do you explain someone having a lot of money in pension account that he can't access in his youthful days to do business or investment considering the time value of money but can only access it after 55 years of age upon retirement. Even if the person is out of job for long(minimum of 6 months), he or she can only collect 25% of his accumulated savings once in the period before he or she becomes 55 years. Leaving government and PFA owners a pool of funds to touch anytime they wish with some justification that they are paying a cheap and ridiculous interest to the employee on the fund. Come-on. Do you wanna compare health insurance in Nigeria with health insurance in USA, Europe and Canada, for instance, don't just go there. About the earnings of Nigerians in brown collar jobs in Europe, you can't compare it with earnings in Nigeria. You should check the hour rate for employment in European countries to understand the potentials in working in the Europe, USA, Canada, Australia etc. I don't care what you think about those working and hoping to Japa. They have so many reasons to Japa; those reasons are results of the Nigerian government poor policies, management, selfishness, carelessness and failure. Guess what? The Nigerian government is perpetually in the business of failing, frustrating, punishing, eroding the value of life of the masses. I will no longer respond to you because you have a choice to stay back in Nigeria and live that life you so desire to live. Just don't discourage people that really want to Japa with your deceptive concept designed to keep them impoverished and unwealthy. They also have a choice to improve the standard of their lives and be equal or better than you and lots keeping this Nigeria down. |

motymop: Nigeria is not working for majority. How many Nigerians have that opportunity that you described in bold alphabets? Which ones are the good places; give examples? Abroad, you don't have to work in good places, you only need to work diligently and you are good for life when you return to Nigeria several years later with a reasonable savings. Stop trying to fool us. |

motymop: Economic power is the ability of countries, businesses, or individuals to improve their standard of living - simply putting it. It doesn't necessarily mean I have to improve my standard of living in my country. Maybe you should have some Nigerians in the advanced countries doing brown collar jobs honestly do the maths for you. They can tell you that it is not easy over there however, life is easier, valuable and improving at faster rate than in Nigeria. There is nothing greater about remuneration than to see the money you work hard to get translate to improved living standards for anyone. In Nigeria, you can work so hard for 35yrs in reputable job and end up with little or nothing significant in asset and or properties. 1 Like |

motymop: Are we all gonna be Dangote, Otedola and the elites? No! Oga, stop deceiving yourself about the statement in bold alphabets, I know a lot of people that worked menial jobs abroad and returned to Nigeria to become highly powerful economically and loaded with resources. You just have to keep a focus and know what you are doing abroad. You need to be schooled on earnings abroad even on menial job for you to comprehend what gap exists between the remuneration in Nigeria and USA Canada, UK and other countries. 1 Like |

motymop: Oga, you can have work permit abroad and still have a Nigerian passport. It means you are not a citizen of that country. You have a first degree and perhaps a masters degree from Nigerian school and you expect them to employ you ahead of a citizen or person trained in their country? Certification can be earned while there in the advanced country, skills are acquired through training and on the job. If you don't give them the job, how will they acquire the skills and training. I agree with you on this "They only get them when they start going back to school but sometimes, it becomes late for them because employers need young people for some certain roles" However in the light of our shared sentiments above, should such Nigerians be waiting for that white or blue collar job or simply do brown collar job that is available with the plan to save as much as possible and return to Nigeria after some years at such job. 1 Like |

motymop: Money and economic power talks and every other thing, including career growth and profession is bull.shit. At the end of that career in Nigeria , give or take 35yrs, you will end up in business, services and trading world. That business is something your mate that left Nigeria to work like jaki as per menial jobs or whatever legal job, in the USA, return to Nigeria loaded with extraordinary fund owing to exchange rate, acquire properties and luxuries of life and start business like 5 - 10 years before you. Bro, open up your mind. I am not asking you to quit your job in Nigeria but don't discourage those young, able with opportunity people form travelling in search of a better life. |
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Many Nigerians Are Not Actually Employable Like It Or Not! by Wallade(m): 12:45pm On Dec 18, 2023 |
motymop: That is not the major reason. The majority of the migrants don't have work permit for such white and blue collar jobs. Such countries will definitely prioritize white collar jobs for their citizens or migrants that are exceptional and schooled in their country or advanced countries. There is no dignity in menial jobs but you are not in USA, Canada or advanced countries to demand respect. I don't need the respect, what I need is the dollar or pound - just pay me for the hours of work I have given abroad. When I give 10years of my life to menial jobs and return to Nigeria and exchange the funds saved to naira over the years. We go no whatsup in terms economic power between you wey dey Nigeria as manager and person wey just return to Nigeria. 2 Likes |

Miracle112: Sell the 50% of your property as planned and Japa. You are still young and unmarried, you have the ability and youthfulness to do jobs abroad. Besides, online marketplace in Nigeria from now till the next 10 years is something you will regret. Profitability of such business in Nigeria is a big risk, over 70% risk. Be careful, don't squander than money. |
