Over the mountains and the sea Your river runs with love for me And I will open up my heart And let the healer set me free I'm happy to be in the truth And I will daily lift my hands For I will always sing Of when Your love came down I could sing of Your love forever I could sing of Your love forever |
Thank you Jesus for the amazing victory yesterday. Thank you Lord for today. |
Thank you Lord- for your strength is made perfect in my weakness... |
Exactly. With all the shout outs she is getting from the thread isn't going to comfort her when the storm hit. She need to make sure that no matter what happens that both can weather it together. If he isn't that type to stand strong...then you have to make a decision because trust and believe as long as you are alive...storms will come.
Great advice. It's one thing for her to feel so strongly and supportive but I'm more concerned with the state of the guys heart and mind.He has to be able to stand strong because obstacles would come. |
You are God and not a man.... |
Thank you Jesus |
Thank you Jesus |
God you are so good, kind , wonderful and excellent . Excellent is your name and power. You are great and there is no one else like you. Thank you for this day- I would rejoice and be glad in it. |
The questions states- how do you know the will of God? And I read responses about "your" instincts. The only way you can know the will of God is by consulting with him. Will of God translates to the plan of God- how do I know that without seeking his face? If the question was how do I know the will of Abraham or Moses- then I would expect you ask Abraham or Moses. Your instincts alone or your supposed understanding can bring you your will and not Gods will. If I want to know the plan my father has for my future- I could either ask him, assume or go about it on my own. True -God has given us a free will but if you are asking for his will in your life then he expects us to trust in him and not our understanding. He wants us to acknowledge him and he promises to direct our path. It could be by revealing that person to you or leading you in that direction. God works differently- there is no magic formular. It's not only in the area of marriage that we should seek Gods will. It's good to cultivate the habit of seeking his will in everything we do. We as humans are so limited in our sight- but God is sovereign-he knows our end from our beginning. Personally I have had experiences where God has delivered me from things that I wouldn't have seen with my "so calculative and limited mind" - at this point I ask him about the most minute things- I'm constantly conversing- God what do you think? What should I do? What should I say? How do I say it? A man who knows the number of strands on your hair cares about the itty bitty things in our life. Acknowledging God in all that we do is key. I am not undermining the roles we have to play also but seeking Gods will first sets the ball rolling. Let me add when you ask for the will of God be sure you really want it. |

sadeiyare: One thing I looked for and found was content of character. We can always meet people anywhere, but I don't believe that is what finding is all about. Its was said about the man that found a piece of jewery in a land; He went sold all he had and bought that land.Great answer! |

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus; there’s just something about that name. Master, Savior, Jesus, like the fragrance after the rain; Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, let all Heaven and earth proclaim; Kings and kingdoms will all pass away, But there’s something about that name. |
Great is your mercy towards me Jesus. You are forever faithful ! |
Hardly ever. I represent NAija till I die! In fact I'm very quick to identify myself as being Nigerian-regardless of whatever might be going on in my country. |
Lol- love and money. I would do the same thing. This is not an issue of trust or love- it's more about principles and accountability. I am actually impressed with her actions. You are better of asking her to ask her uncle on your behalf. Answering your question- if this is the only issue- best believe it's not an issue then. If it was her money- then that would be a topic for discussion between you two - certainly not a reason to head for the exit |
Thank you Lord for watching over me- your promises are yes and amen! |
Thank you Jesus. |
CrazyMan: Are you talking to me?:-) |

Thankful... |
I cringe as I read the comments on here. What if this story was true- would the comments be the same? Wow.. |
I totally agree with you Cameroon pride. I'm sick and tired of people bowing out of stuff at the slightest opportunity. No one is saying what the guy did-cheating is the right thing to do. However finding the exit is not the solution. What gives you the thought that the next guy is not going to cheat or beat her? Humans are capable of doing anything- even the ones you think are prim and proper. For heaven sake Bill Clinton cheated on his wife; Hillary went past that. It takes the grace of God and discipline for anyone to stand. Hence the bible says let he who thinks he stands take heed lest he falls. This is why they stress marrying in God's will- if God gave you this man go on your knees and pray. Even if you went into it on your own- God is merciful - go pray. The Devil comes to kill, steal and destroy- don't let him steal your home. Take your stand. It might seem like the foolish thing to do but trust me its not. I certainly would not want my husband cheating- so therefore its important for me to know that marriage entails more than Mr and Mrs. One has to know especially a woman how to interceed for her home. Other issues asides cheating would come up- finding an exit shouldnt be our first option! For those advocating divorce if family does something crazy do they cease from being family? If no why do we take this institution called marriage lightly? |
I just ordered my copy and I can't wait :-) Its quite unfortunate that Awolowo is not here to defend himself again. I personally think the Yorubas have some blame in this- however little. I think the hunger issue was wrong- although Awo claimed he did that because the food was getting to the soldiers instead of the civilians- he should have gone about it differently-hunger as a weapon of war I think is inhumane."They all" have a share of the blames. Biafra is an issue that needs to be addressed and not just dismissed. |
I can imagine how you feel. There is nothing that hurts me more than betrayal but the way forward is what one needs to think about. As I was reading your story- I had the intention of telling you to truly forgive and explain the power and importance of forgiveness - but then I read you forgave and yet he continued. This is tough and I'm sure it hurts. I don't have the experience to tell you what to do, but what I can say is don't let your present circumstance make you do the things you normally wouldn't do- because your partner is acting like a jerk shouldn't make you lower your standards- please drop communication with the other guy. It might give you temporal relieve but it is also digging you deeper into your hole. Ultimately, this is a time to draw closer to God - he is our sufficiency. There are battles that primarily have to be fought on our knees. Ask God for direction and wisdom concerning the issue - let me add it is difficult to pray and trust God in this situation- but you have to. Don't cut off communication with God. Approach him after praying and have a heart to heart conversation with him- I wouldn't expect a 360 change from this talk- because they are usually engrossed and enjoying their sin and can't see clearly- but don't give up. Your words would begin to stir up his spirit. Take your rightful place- keep calling his name in prayer- it's your family it's your husband- they are worth fighting for. However hard it might be, look past the current situation and have faith in what God can do. Involve your Godly parents/mentor/pastor to help you through this process- you need support. Don't change your attitude towards him- do all you can and then stand and watch God come through for you. My prayer is that God would see you through this experience, give you the wisdom to go about things, heal you and help you love in spite of all. I pray he would restore your peace and your home. |
Nice read :-) |
