computerboy: SSHDs are just normal hard drives that have small amount of SSD built in it. To me, they're waste of money (being that they're costlier than normal HDDs) and will phase out with HDD as well.
The choice should be between SATA SSD (MSATA/M.2 inclusive) or NVMe (PCIe) SSD hmm .. currently got a laptop with a 256gb m.2 ssd nd also a hdd slot .. Been thinking whether to get a 1tb sshd to supplement .. My notebook came with a slim wd sshd nd it has less vibration nd better performance than a normal hdd |

computerboy: Well... just like hdd when it came out newly, it was very expensive. If you check history of SSD you'll see the price fall already...ie its more affordable now. As the years go by, HDDs will gradually start phasing out and SSD well become more affordable How about the use of SSHDs ? |

webapi: It's no bomb... Most people don't know all facebook products and they don't really know how the tech world revolves. You use what fits your need and that is why i ask people that needs my service what language they prefer, and if you say you don't know much, then i will advice you go with CMS. Konga runs on magento, it's also CMS and if you understand magento, you will know it's as simple as using woocommerce. Jumia runs on yii which is also CMS. So everyone uses what fits their needs. I've seen most php developers mess up people's job and the end up using CMS to complete the job I won't argue much with you .. Am not a web developer #Adiós |

webapi: There are wordpress developers and they are also called web developers. Creating a wordpress platform from scratch is more difficult than create a web app with laravel (i use both though) but my point is, not everyone that uses wordpress are non-developers... Facebook uses wordpress, does that mean the facebook team are non-developers? What matters is use the platform that suits your need. This is an atomic bomb.. |

Zoharariel: Mr. man, repairs on 3rd Mainland Bridge would have commenced by then, so I suggest we make it this coming Monday morning.
The result of the Ekiti gubernatorial election would have thrown half of the Country population into an inevitable frenzy. If we're even lucky, Fayose will be shot by a Mopol imported from Abuja, thereby triggering protests & Curfew from all the states of the Federation.
I will contact my boys in the LRU & Lasma to cordon off a section of the bridge preferably from Oworonshoki to the Osborne intersection - notifying the public with a make-shift sign post that Preliminary Testing is being carried out by Borini Prono.
Ofcourse, we will have to pay my guys in the LRU & Lasma 200k for shutting down the bridge for 45 minutes - which will be borne by racers.
The following Nairanlanders (Diportivo, Nurey, Ikenna351, AutoJoshNG, Weyreypey, Readonee35L, & I) will be closely following & observing the race from behind in a Range Rover Autobiography that will be volunteered by ElshanAutos ; D while Gazzuzz, Sooperrescue, Sir EgunMogaji & Sir Jakumo will be stationed at the finishing line with their Nikon Digital SLR Cameras to declare the winner.
However, both the winner & the loser in this drag-race will contribute 500k each to the supervising team of this noble drag-racing - since una don chop belleful. How can you put such an event on a Monday Morning?? You think we live under the bridge abi It's a 35mins drive from my house to the bridge.. Currently applying for a two weeks leave from work.. We have other places apart from the third mainland bridge |

Ulrich01: None yet. They are not serious. They are now trapping people's money via the useless recharge without being able to convert the recharge to data. Next thing is to involve NCC and CPC on twitter because this is now stealing by trick. Customers are paying for services and those services are not being rendered. They didn't send any official statement that they have issues with their network.
Am still trying to confirm if it's just wawu sim with the problem. Am seeing comments of people who are still subscribing to the normal plans not wawu. Am not using the wawu SIM.. My ntel SIM is almost two years old |

Ulrich01: Ntel is having serious issues. Subscribing to a plan has now become a problem since on Friday. So many complains everywhere and they keep giving the same stupid replies both via chat and calls. My advice is to leave them for now till they fix their problem else you will have your money trapped in your balance. You can top up but you can't subscribe. I tried it with #500 on Friday, till this very moment my #500 is still in my balance and hasn't been converted to MB. All i get is error. Called them twice, stories (within 24hours it will be fixed).
So many complains on their Facebook page. They aren't even replying to their private message anymore. Once they read it as a case of subscription, they simply ignore. Any progress so far from this company?? |

RZArecta2: After going through this thread, had to go read user reviews about this car. You picked a real solid car with constant 4.5 out of 5 star ratings and I would actually pick this over any Camry, Accord or Avalon but funny enough, this car is usually mentioned in the same sentence with BMW's, Benz and Audi's instead and it's when dem dey laugh those cars Kindly take out the BMW and MERCEDES BENZ from your given list.. The infiniti brand is known for powerful engines but that doesn't equate it with the aforementioned brands |

DanTheGeek: Many of you are already familiar with the guy behind this username, and how + why i deleted my previous account. There's a problem with the tech ecosystem and I'm not here to repeat facts or cry over spilt milk but to send a message to "whoever it may concern" and anyone that cares to listen.
There's a young dude on Nairaland "elvis10ten" that shared his experiences when he was 14 about coding with a Nokia J2me feature phone and developing an app out of it... As you'd expect, "know it all" devs jumped on and criticized the OP's idea and efforts with few sensible people in support of his creativity and passion for programming. Long story short, Elvis now works at a US based MIT startup, DotLearn and is living his dreams working a role most random developer s never get. Let's learn to embrace and support each other, show some love... The next internet sensation may end up being one of the people reading this.
As i mentioned earlier, i'm not here to repeat facts but to let those few sane developers left around, know that the problem was never Nairaland or Seun but US. Let's change our mentality and manner of approach, instead of targeting Nairaland by building fierce competition, let's focus our energy on things that really matter and build healthy competition. Let's research, solve problems and contribute to the Nigerian tech revolution instead of tackling each other like confused barbarians. Let's change our mentality, for good! DANIELTHEGEEK !!! Nice to have a brother back .. To be frank the issue you mentioned emanates from our mindset .. Recently i stumbled a thread made by febup where he talked about self taught programmers and i was blown away by his mental disposition ... By the way hows your game project going? |
