Hi guys.

Please Is it compulsory to seek a supervisor before funding is granted?
I just want to know if it's a general rule or program specific.

Thanks.

Any supporting documents the applicant feels are needed to establish his or her strong economic, social or other ties to Nigeria. However, please note that for student visas, officers are trained to primarily rely on interviews in lieu of documentation. As such, it is not unusual for few or no documents to be requested during the interview.

Culled from US embassy website

I understand you perfectly, pass mark is usually 50.... but I think there is still a way to show grades like graduating with distinction, right?

You might have to discuss with your school's exams and record office to attach a signed note explaining how Med Sch in Nigeria results are graded. Na English go finish the work and small change to facilitate am sharp sharp. grin

I'm far from ibadan right now.
I'm processing US admission just doing this Finland thing as plan B but the thing want dey stress person pass Yankee sef.

@ warpedlogician, i will attach a copy of my transcript for u to ise as guide.

We don't use grades. It's either pass or fail.

That's what they used in my transcripts

Warpedlogician, good things dont come cheap. Kindly resend via dhl. The first transcript i sent via nipost since 5th January is still not there yet.
Do not relent !
If ur document got there, it might take time, bt they will process it.

Thanks brother.
I have tracked all the mails and they have been successfully delivered. Since 22nd of Jan. Some on the 21st.
What's surprising is that I sent the application mail a day after I sent the transcripts.
So I'm wondering how Uaf send me a mail stating that they didn't receive my transcripts but received the application and all the documents have been successfully delivered.
Guy I tire.

My transcripti is sealed and stamped btw

Uaf is confused.
I sent my transcript and the application.

But UAF is saying they haven't received the transcript.
Even though It's sealed and stamped.

I'm done with this Finland sh*t abeg.

I don't think it's a Nipost delay, I think it is UAF slow response now because we are now at peak of application season, I used DHL for my transcripts going to three weeks now still no confirmation from UAF, I have even mailed them but no reply yet from them, I sent a registered mail to US on 20th Dec. It got there on 2nd January, exactly 14 days later.

How did you track?

Good morning, I'm a M. Sc student in Mycology/Biotechnology currently in my 2nd semester with 1more semester to go. I need guides on how to apply for Phd program in USA.
Thanks.

Check the schools websites.
Many program requirements are similar to msc applications except you may need to talk to profs etc for admission and the criteria for admission is way tougher.
It just depends on the school.
Also research experience is more important than in msc applications since phd is all about research.

Most importantly, are you willing to do a PhD??
From what I've read online, It's a long hard road. Think am well o.

Guy. for example, the first question is a personal question: your best teacher, hobby or the likes. How are they similar, its confusing me seriously? What material did you use.

Because they involve you stating a personal anecdote.
'In my opinion, my favorite teacher/hobby/whatever is.....
I like this teacher / person / hobby because........
For example this teacher / hobby / whatever is.......
Also I like this teacher because........
A good example to display this is.........
So all in all this teacher / hobby / whatever is very close to my heart and these are the reasons why I like him /her /it

It's a fullltuition waiver. I get to work 8hrs a week at the department.

Ok so why did the VO ask you for a sponsor?
I don't have one.
If i get full tuition waiver isn't that enough?

Can you state instance or name of the scholarship?

Hi slim. Congrats on your visa.
Please I'd like to ask you. Did you GA cover 100%?
Were you given a stipendstipend?

I'm not trying be intrusive. The reason why I'm asking is because my program is saying they give tuition waiver + stipend if I get admission (competitive as hell)

So I'd like to know what financial obligation I'm up against so I can start planning. Thank you sir.
