In order to prevent myself from further hurt, i lied to Funke that i was low on credit and would therefore call her later. This was probably a good decision because it also helped to conceal my tears. I crept back into my room , and lay on my bed like a rejected piece of good. Well how was i different from that?

I pondered over the last 3 days, how worried i had been about Funke when i couldnt reach her, i pondered about how well she appreciated my worry over her with cold responses. I pondered about the tears falling freely from my eyes , i asked myself whether it was the same me who found it hard to shed a tear drop when i lost an aunt the previous year....
It was about a week since Funke had accepted my proposal, the bulk of my thoughts, money and time was expended on her one way or the other, yet the best i could get in return was those responses...in between those thoughts, i found myself dialling her number once more, when she picked up , i found myself apologising for disturbing her the other time...i asked about her upcoming exams to which she responded positively, much to the delight of my hitherto sobber heart for reasons beyond me.
After the call, I concluded the same way Nnu Ego had concluded in 'the joys of motherhood' according to her, if you don't have children , the longing for them will kill you, If you have children the worry over them will kill you...my case was similar ''if you don't have a lover, the longing for them will kill you, when you finally think you found love, the worry over such love will kill you''!!!!

shymexx: OP, you need to grow up and stop being childish. Girls like that are a rare gem, or should I say, rough diamond. It seems she gave you her all and you're messing up with her emotions. Her problem is that she gave you everything she's got, yet you keep messing around. However, she can't handle her emotions because it seems she has never felt that away about anyone else and she probably thought you're the one before letting you into her life.

What you need to do is grow up and treat her like you would treat your younger sister. Show her that she's worth something and she's your girl. A little bit of ego massaging from time to time won't be a bad idea. Girls like that would give their lives to make you live. And in a world where good girls are a dying breed, you need to hold on to someone like that. Else, you might end up crying in future.
bro I love u.... I swear... no homo but u nailed it

The next day was Saturday, so i had a lot of work,to do, this actually helped to occupy the vacuum Funke created in my heart
But this was to last for only a shortwhile, immediately after the house chores, the vacuum resumed from its short vacation.I logged on Tugo to notify Wale of the development perhaps he could help me find a,way out for I truly needed help.
After a few minutes on Tugo ,Funke called, I concluded my eyes were deceiving me or it,was probably a delusion as it had been for the past 3 days. When I finally decided to pick up, I made a decision to query her for her nonchalance ...,..as if I could..
I picked up and asked in a rather apologetic manner why her number wasn't going through in the past few days, her reply befuddled my ears !!! She told me she travelled to write her post-utme and decided to switch off in order for me not to disturb her...
At this point I swallowed hard as if to swallow the rage burning up inside me, of course I was burning with rage and melancholy...but who was I to express that before Her majesty?
I started begging her and promised not to disturb her ,i begged her never to switch off her phone, for it was already having effects on me....i was probably speaking to deaf ears even with tears in my eyes as she asked 'who are u to tell me not to switch off?'

To be continued....

..
I ain't a frustrated fellow but an undeniable fact remains the fact that the ongoing ASUU strike is far from being in the interests of the students... lecturers hate students beyond that... they are fighting for better offices and fatter pockets... that I'm sure of
Don't act coy with me. I have trained and graduated more than 100 first class students, and know EXACTLY what I am talking about, if you don't.

About whether the lazy ones are the ones in ASUU executive, I cannot speak to that. Perhaps, I might remind you that everyone finds his calling? In any case, I do not look at whether the ones flying our banners are lazy. I look at the course we are fighting for. In time, when the system improves, the lazy, inept ones will be flushed out, be they exco or not.
okay. I'm not trynna act coy...let's Look @ it from this angle...
how about the money gotten from diplomas, post utme, part time programmes, and more?
how about solicitation from wealthy Nigerians? in my school for instance the VC solicits from wealthy people to carry out projects and in less than 2years he has achieved what predecessors put together didn't achieve.
I'm talking about professor Abdulrashid of Bayero university kano.
there are other ways of getting funds rather than putting everything on d government, the government is corrupt agreed but how much is Nigeria's overall budget in reality with ASUU's demands?
That Same VC. installed over 800 million naira facility @ our faculty of engineering without milking d government dry...
ASUU should make do wit the provisions of the government and ask for more when they have successfully justified such provisions!!!

meeking: TRUE, I DIDN'T GET A FIRST CLASS IN A NIGERIAN UNIVERSITY. BUT I GOT A FIRST CLASS IN A FOREIGN UNIVERSITY, FINISHED MY PH.D AT THE AGE OF 25 WITH A DISTINCTION. AND WAS ASKED TO COME AND RENDER SERVICE TO MY COUNTRY (WHICH I DID AND I'M DOING PRESENTLY).

WASAK, NOT ALL LECTURERS ARE THE SAME. I FOR ONE DON'T HATE MY STUDENTS AS A MATTER OF FACT, SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE THE BRIGHTEST STUDENTS.

I KNOW WHAT I WENT THROUGH IN THE UNIVERSITY IN THIS COUNTRY BUT THAT WILL NOT MAKE ME HATE SOMEONE ELSE (BECAUSE I AM EDUCATED - THAT MEANS I KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO HATE A STUDENT - I'VE BEEN A VICTIM MYSELF).

BUT, YOU CANT BELIEVE IT THAT SOME OF MY ROLE MODELS ARE ACTUALLY THE SAME LECTURERS THAT I THOUGHT WERE VICTIMIZING ME WHEN I WAS SCHOOLING IN THIS COUNTRY.

I CAME TO REALIZE THAT ALL THEY WERE DOING (ONE WAY OR THE OTHER - EITHER LOVE OR HATE ME) THEY WERE DOING IT FOR MY OWN GOOD.

ITS ANOTHER WAY OF SEEING THINGS.

WASAK, "LOVE, DONT' HATE".
.
I'm not hating.. all I'm saying is d industrial action is doing more harm than good...d strike can be called off with continuous negotiations.. but nay!!! ASUU won't agree...it's all about their pocket while I sit at home for months doing nothing only to resume for exams and I'm expected to pass @ d end of d day
When you say "prove to you" what does it mean? Anyhow, yes, funding is the number 1 problem because

1) The conditions of service are not good enough to attract and retain the best minds.
2) The good minds do decide to stay do not have the right equipment and conducive environment to work.

You probably want to tell me that lazy, greedy, indolent, unscrupulous etc. lecturers are the number one problem, no? Well, my friend, go back and look at point number 1 above. Fact is, you get what you pay for. If Nigerian universities cannot employ smart brains year-in-year-out, what happens is, you fill the system with a lot of dross. The lazy, greedy ones you hate are here because the funding is not right to attract the best minds. Gedit?
with due respect sir I beg to disagree with u...d lazy greedy ones are those in the executive cabinet of ASUU... they should sack themselves.. there are over a million qualified candidates ready to fill their place... so it's all about the money!? huh?

meeking: ADA NRI1 : ASUU IS SAYING THAT THE JUMBO PAY TO USELESS SENATORS SHOULD BE PUT INTO THE EDUCATIONAL SECTOR SO THAT YOUR EDUCATION, YOUR CHILDRENS' EDUCATION, AND YOUR CHILDRENS' CHILDREN EDUCATION WILL BE SECURED (IN OTHER WORDS, YOUR CHILDREN AND GRAND CHILDREN WILL STILL GO TO PUBLIC SCHOOLS - JUST LIKE THE ONE YOU ATTENDED AND STILL GET EVEN BETTER EDUCATION THAN YOU).

THE RATE OF UNEMPLOYMENT IS ALARMING IN THIS COUNTRY. HOW PARENTS ACTUALLY EARN BETTER SALARIES? AND HOW MANY CAN AFFORD THEIR CHILDREN IN PRIVATE UNIVERSIITES?

USE YOUR HEAD (TO THINK OF THE FUTURE), USE YOUR HEART (TO FEEL FOR ASUU).

REMEMBER, WHAT AN OLD MAN (ASUU) CAN SEE WHILE SEATED, YOU (BLABBERING STUDENTS) CANNOT SEE EVEN IF YOU CLIMB MOUNT KILIMANJARO AND EVEREST COMBINED TOGETHER.
I disagree with u completely.
lecturers hate d students and don't bloody care whether or not they get a good job or sound education. i hate all lecturers.... can u imagine one stubborn lecturer gave me D in a course where I tutor my fellow students.... if u want to be a Senator so be it....if u are a lecturer teach well, don't extort students and don't fail students because u didn't get a first class....old sadists!!!
EducationRe: No-work-no-pay Rule May Escalate ASUU Crisis by wasak(m): 2:18pm On Oct 31, 2013
Don't misunderstand things. ASUU is primarily fighting for (a) its members (b) the Nigerian tertiary education system. We are not fighting for students in the sense of reducing their fees. We are fighting for students in the sense that the education you're getting is basically worthless, and (hopefully) with the right injection of funds, you are more *likely* to get a proper education. Gedit?
and d strike is d best way to get proper education? can u prove to me that funding is the number 1 problem of universities?

ITbomb: SO you wanna leave her when she needs you most.
You can both sit down and talk out all your fears and insecurity issues with each other.
The way I'm seeing it, you dont discuss with her as a friend , you only talk to her when you want to solve a problem.
Solution: When you are relax , in a playful , romantic mood, first of all make her promise not to be angry for the next 30 mins , then unload ur heart to her , encourage her to do the same to you , laugh about ur shortcomings and propose practical ways of handling issues together .
Eg , you too can agree that if you go with a girl that you should introduce her as ur fiancée ? and once you do that , she should agree not to hold any grudges .
.
Trust and Communications bro .
She is a wife material so see her as a project God has given you to work on.
