PoliticsRe: Senator Ahmed Yerima Replies His Critics by Waterway: 3:31am On Jul 21, 2013
Mr Yerima, in a country where votes count, you will not be representing your constituents .Remember you we're forced on these same people. This is one of many tragedies of complacency of we Nigerians. You are the same illiterate/animal that urged your fellow uninformed colleague to promote sharia. Pick any of the progressive member countries of IOC that you know has this archaic and perverted laws on their books and I will show you many more that has done better by recognizing that certain age groups are kids and improved their lives by investing and creating a progressive society for business and opportunities. You are the same deranged man that has young men/women gets their arm chopped off for stealing a goat, while you Yerima gets away with embezzlement of govt funds meant to improve the lives of young boys/girls, drinking your finest wine ordered from Europe and patronizing the ills of society. Remember there was a time when a black man was not considered human and only good as slaves by people that thought like you are now about underage marriage !!! You are an uneducated scumbag and history will hand you it's judgement.
PoliticsRe: N750 Monthly Charges For PHCN Prepaid Users (Meters) by Waterway: 4:31pm On Jul 10, 2013
Divain: I can't really understand why the fixed charges was introduced in the first place. I bought prepaid meter from PHCN with my money at a very high cost and every month i will still cough out N750 for meter maintenance charge including VAT. Not that the meter is free, Only in Nigeria can this kind of daylight robbery happen.
It is the type of disregard that we have let them pass unto our citizens. It is time people , it is time my fellow citizens to take this country back. This is the equivalent of another subsidy scandal/ double charges for unprovided services. They are testing how far they can squeeze you and I. This is a scam by this shadowy and corrupt govt. Send it out on twitter/facebook ------ all state house of assembly and govt house in the country need to see the face of their struggling contituents and tell us if this is fair...... start the surcharge & corruption protest---- I smell a tea part soon, it is time!!!
PoliticsRe: If Care’s Not Taken, Nigeria’ll Go The Way Of Egypt, Says Buhari by Waterway: 8:20pm On Jul 07, 2013
Youngzedd: Buhari is an ediot for vomiting such.

Oga Jona u dey fall my hand for not detaining this old man.

Buhari will NEVER smell Aso rock in his life.

Hehe! I laugh in Spanish, this is no more Amaechi's case.
Don't laugh at the issue , don't react at the gut level , engage it at an intellectual level--- Ask the question why so much misery in my country. Look beyond the names of the leaders ask where are they leading us huh Don't ask which political party but ask which will include us all at the grand party -- a prosperous Nigeria; a country you do not want to leave but stay and contribute the best of your talents and have your kids experience the beauty , the diverse people ,language , music and culture. It sounds like a place you , Buhari, GEJ ,the rest of us will want to experience if we are sincere/patriotic enough. You see, if we get our leaders to be as patriotic as a soldier is to their country then they will contribute more to this great nation and not run this baby down !!!
PoliticsRe: If Care’s Not Taken, Nigeria’ll Go The Way Of Egypt, Says Buhari by Waterway: 8:07pm On Jul 07, 2013
gidson12: why is this man so filled with negativity.......I've never heard any thing good come out of his mouth, and this is who some set of people want as their president
I think a soldier sees his/her country as their baby. These guys have laid their lives on the ground for Nigeria. Now if you think of it from their point of view and what they thought they were protecting, then you will understand their disappointment. In addition , I don't think any of our leaders that fought for independence will give accolades to these leaders in the last 15yrs. the question they will ask is --- Is this what I risk my life for huh? ----- Corrupt and unpatriotic citizen leaders pilfering away the resources . How many homes and foreign accounts did Awolowo, Azikiwe, Balewa etc have in Dubai, Europe. Infact these excesses were looked at with disdain back then and today it is enslaving the country by promoting/encouraging staggering level of embezzlements/corruption and sanctioned by GEJ. You may want to disagree but the buck stops at his desk and he is the presido!!!!

enny5: My dear whatever amount you have given or bribed with is not going to last you for the rest of his regime. it will probably run out a year into. or probably promised you a local chairman sit if he wins. THEY WONT GIVE YOU. Be a fighter not a coward. I fight for nigeria's freedom, human rights, the land my ancestors bleed for and died on. What is your point of view? What do you stand for? Money? Local chairman sit? What is your view?
Enny5 ; you are right on point.
Again as Nigerians, if we believe in the electoral process we will not feel subdued and make such enslaved comments and repeating soundbites seen from sispele. Out of this chaos will come on sensible order. Long Live Nigeria !!!

ochejoseph: Look I have nothing to do with govt neither any member of my family , I criticise GEj when necessary but going forward u can't but commend this man for what he has achieved as I reply this post my generator is running yes NO Light but am aware that he has finally succeeded in privatising Nepa or PHCN and with transmission projects on course the president will be able to deliver power to us and am willing to trust this Man becos of the progress made thus far, I see the rice revolution with flooded plains transformed into expansive rice fields, I see the Good in Benin Ore road transformation ,progress on lokoja -Abuja and the beauty at the airports ,I know unemployment still high but and insecurity is a challenge. but is this man trying? my answer is YES HE IS
I totally agree but he needs to acknowledge the elephant in the room- CORRUPTION. Jail time for those found guilty in the embezzlement schemes all over the tenure of this administration. You can tell someone by the company they keep......Remember we as a nation have lost sense of our rights and capabilities. Yes, he upgraded airports but does the ballooning govt expenditures rob the nation of finaces to grow -- Resounding YES. Yes he is doing some cosmetic work but we need lasting policy that puts in place fundamental framework for success/growth. Let him empower institutions and see what happens. Any achievements by GEJ so far is not and will not be recognized because of his failure to acknowledge and move against corruption.!!!
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Is An African Power: Pictures by Waterway: 6:49pm On Jul 07, 2013
LT SHANGY: First and foremost, Nigeria is a regional super power in the sahel region of the western part of African, do not worry abt those old weapons, we have more modern weapons than we wil eva know, all stacked away at our military depot. Defence pacts have been signed with Russia, ukraine and China for deliveries of weapons in war times.. We are manufacturing long-range missiles at epe, lagos(tested seven so far). The airforce re manufacturing anoda jet fighter(not the beetle), will be unveiled in 2015. The navy re working on a larger warship(Andoni p2000) will be unveiled nxt year. We re d most feared military in Africa(never lost a battle).
Lt Shangy: who are we fighting with these weapons. When your kids are going to want to leave the country by all means to Europe, South Africa and soon Ghana. When you retire and your yrs in the service is rewarded by your pension embezzled by your ministers and afraid to sleep in our own home because of umemployed youths on the prowl as armed robbers- Is that a country worth defending in battle or even better, are you fighting the right battle. When you die on the battle-field does the greedy legislator take care of your kids and acknowledge the ultimate price of a patriot or is he busy pilfering away from the state and national treasury for the comfort of his family. Perhaps the war worth sacrificing life for is the one at home for a better Nigeria. The one that guarantees a futute for your kids and families like yours who do not have homes in Dubai, Europe to escape the gloom and doom that these politicians are creating today. I suspect if the politicians used our oil money to develop Nigeria since Obasanjo's tenure, Nigerian soldiers will not use taxpayer's money to buy ammo to kill Nigerians in Borno or Niger -Delta, think about the tragedy!!!These two groups are reacting to economic injustice but using a wrong approach. We need a military that recognizes the problem , stays in the barracks but with clear message to politicians that they will defend Nigeria with their lives and will moves against anybody that jeopardizes our common future and economic growth. How can there be Tahir square/Egypt demonstrations and the military was neutral and allowed its citizens to air grievances ---maturity and not politicking!!! Our military is not just good on their regional battle field but also well informed on economy- guys, they are educated too!!! Our military leaders/officers are more educated than our legislators. Remember they are the brightest shown by merits not by buying favors and elections like our leaders. What is missing is maturity/discipline in our military not politicking armed forces. A military that goes back to putting country first before self. A word to the wise.. Long Live Nigeria
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Is An African Power: Pictures by Waterway: 6:01pm On Jul 07, 2013
Naija army Day is ominous sign and a metaphor of what is to rightly happen. A comparison of Egypt (Morsi) and our aloof poiliticians (GEJ)and the snubs by visiting world leader(s) are enough reasons - suppress free speech and liberty of the majority and in this case the most populous black nation. The arab sping will become an "African Spring" in the next 12- 18mths. The deceit is clear it has cut across all of the social strata except if you are a member of the ultrarich Nigerian then you cannot se it. I see a class war in the horizon because that unleashed the military in Egypt and also to avoid proxy war near an increasingly but rightfully inpatient superpower.
Now the parallel for us in Nigeria is not of superpower but a corrupt nation from top down which is on its way to becoming a breeding ground for the scum of the earth trying to introduce ideological identity that is antiwest and will threatens the peace needed to advance geopolitical gains of Africa. More importantly a base too close for comfort to Europe. Nigeria is on its way to becoming a bane rather than a boon to Africa. A countinent where 1/4 of its people are Nigerians and all the children/future generation sees bleak, corrupt officials are not in Nigerian jails, corruption with impunity and total disregard for rule of law. Vis-a Vis Otedola -Lukman, Pension fund scam, obasanjo's era PHCN $6billion electrification project, police brutality and extrajudicial killings. A Corrupt executive, lame judiciary, and greedy legislators!!! Nigerian leaders today are not laying the foundation for stable growth but is leading the country into the abyss!!! If the common denominator in Afganistan/ Arab Spring is corruption, repressive govt, lack of protection for lives and property. Then what is in store for us huh The wars are too expensive for the West to fight alone and to avert a larger chaos in North Africa the military was imployed to do an in-house clean-up in Egypt. The military doing their job to secure their nations from external or "internal aggressors" and redirect the fate of their nations by ensuring the atmosphere is in place for the constitution to flourish - Secure the country and then run free and fair elections. (Rawlings was ahead here but I suspect the West sees the results today). Smarter ways to solve today's regional problems , Mistakes of Libya averted in Egypt. What about Nigeria a looming catastrophe for sub-Saharan Africa to South Africa!!!
PoliticsRe: Ohanaeze To APC - Field Igbo Presidential Candidate, by Waterway: 8:47am On Feb 11, 2013
Paschal007: The apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndi’gbo, has told the newly formed All Progressives Congress that it will only support a political party that picks its presidential candidate from the South-East geopolitical zone.

The APC is a product of the merger by four opposition parties – All Nigeria Peoples Party; All Progressives Grand Alliance; Congress for Progressive Change; and Action Congress of Nigeria.

The Publicity Secretary of the Ohanaeze, Mr. Osita Oganah, in an interview with our correspondent on Friday , however, said the group would not restrict its lobbying to a political party, adding that presidential aspirants from the region would be encouraged to realise the Igbo presidency ambition.

Oganah also berated the Young Igbo Christian Ministers Congress for asking the region to forget about the presidency until after 2019.

President of the congress and General Overseer of the House of God International Church, Mr. Athan Azubuike, reportedly cautioned Igbo politicians that no aspirant from the South-East would be President of Nigeria until 2019 and beyond.

However, Oganah said although the cleric had the right to express himself, such should be done with caution.

Meanwhile, Second Republic governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, has said the region was set to negotiate the 2015 presidency with President Goodluck Jonathan.

He said the Igbo would vote for the President if he seeks re-election on the condition that he would also support the South-East presidency after serving his second term.

In a separate interview with our correspondent, the elder statesman said the region would play “a game of cooperation” with Jonathan.

Ezeife said,  “If Jonathan will go for a second term, we will meet with him. If he will contest without destroying the democratic structure, we will support him. If he wins, we’ll ask him to support us. Then, it will be win-win, not win-lose or lose-lose.”

http://www.punchng.com/news/field-igbo-presidential-candidate-ohanaeze-tells-apc/
It is time for our so called elder statesmen to speak for themselves and tell us where their prior deals have taken us as a nation. These same zealots got us in this mess it is time to think with our mind and not be political heards/flock driven by sentiments. If the next president is from any tribe or region in Nigeria and you can travel our roads without starring death in the eye, go to university with some hope for a future job or atmosphere to get a loan to start a business, enjoy an evening out without fear of armed robbers---- will you complain about governance ??. here they are again but they did not speak for you when corpses flooded your river, your hands chopped off for stealing a goat but rather they pay a "fine" for looting billions. This heard mentality and unequal adjudication of justice must stop !! Let us engage our mind in next election. For those who say 4yrs is not enough time to right the wrong of prior administration , then ask how long it took to find Ex Gov Ibori to plead guilty to financial crimes for which he was acquitted in Nigeria. The same "elder statesmen" did not lead a rally for justice or clean the rot in our judiciary. So they have failed the test, it is time to chart a new course, led by the youths of today and leaders of tomorrow not by tired old men driven by greed but hiding in their usual cloak of deceit!!!

I can't help to notice the statement from our Senate president, Mr David Mark asking more from fellow Nigerians, to let this win be a rallying point for peace/unity in the country. The irony is we have patriotic youths, bringing accolades and respect to our beloveth country, in the league of nations but have leaders who are unpatriotic !!! we have youths who placed Nigeria first and leaders who take pride in putting Nigeria last.--- ala their health care and personal investments overseas. Mr President and Senate president, the youths of Nigeria are disillusioned due to the massive corruption and mismanagement of the Nigerian Elite/poticians. A country where looting of treasury and mismanagement of govt fund is the order of the day. The youths do not feel any part of ownership in their country, they do not feel they have a stake in it for them, hence the Mayheim unleashed in the Niger Delta & Northern Nigeria. The rampant robbery, kidnappings, cultism and the spike in crime rate has direct correlation with the total disregard for rule of law by the political elite and it trickles down to every facet of our society as a nation. Remember a society is defined by what it values. Our politicians are buying up the world overseas (private jets, mansions, healthcare, comfort) and come home to the squalor and abject poverty that abound and feel no sense of duty to this great country. They ask you and I to be patriotic but I say lead by example because the level of hypocrisy by the political class is blurring the definition of a true Nigerian and changing our values, undermined the tireless effort of our founding fathers for a " one Nigeria" with charted course to first class and not third world nation . So I ask our leaders to lead by example . So Mr President, Senate President enact the laws that puts our country back on track. Take the torch from our young talented , courageous players and lets us march in solidarity from North to South, East to west and restore the respect that is due this nation and secure our future as a country. So let our leaders not ask more from us, let them show us how patriotic they are in the cause. Let them trim govt and stop the looting and fight corruption. Enact laws that promote business, create jobs and a legal system that treats us all as equal under the law. On this note I say

Long Live Nigeria !!!!
PoliticsRe: El-Rufai Wants Keshi, Emenike In APC To Run For Public Office by Waterway: 8:15am On Feb 11, 2013
Didi_8: El-Rufai, keep your politics to yourself. We are not interested. What Keshi and Emenike and Mikel and the rest did tonite is football statesmanship. You are just a politician looking at the next election. Thats where your vision ends. These Super Eagles have won glory for this generation and are heroes for coming generations. For me, APC sounds like one medication that has been phased out from pharmaceutical shops. In fact whats the difference between PDP and APC? In fact we are not interested in your political proposal.
We must participate in the political process. APC is a step in the right direction, though not perfect but applauded by Nigerians with governance credentials/experience. There is strength in this united front to counter the menace of some PDP members. PDP was founded by patriotic architect for better Nigeria but hijacked by thugs and 419ers, who made money by scamming and bought political offices- so are we surprised on the outcome. They do not value the very features that make for a successful/ developed country. We have to get back to a nation that values competence not one that is based on cronyism!!! Ask yourself and your family if they are better off today than 4yrs ago. Do you feel like you have some part of ownership in Nigeria or just enslaved and a toy for politicians. They can pay a laughable fine and still walk away with stolen billions and you get your hands chopped off for stealing a goat/chicken. They can buy private jets and build new airports to enrich themselves and their family and you are trying to avoid the death traps on Nigerian roads. We need to raise the political bar and get some Nigerians with sense of purpose and duty into govt/office. Long Live Nigeia !!!

Stephen Keshi- you truly deserve honour and all the accolades !!
Victor Moses you are a beacon of hope for the disillusioned youths of this beloveth country
To all our patriotic flying eagles , players in AFCON 2013, job well done , we salute you. Your country is proud of you.

Again Mr President, Senate president, bring down this wall of corruption and raise the patriotic torch. Long Live Nigeria !!!!
HealthRe: One Good Achievement As A Nigerian Don Discovers Cure For Diabetes by Waterway: 8:21am On Dec 17, 2011
Dr Izevbigie's claim or his advertisement by Mr Inogholase is a stretch . Diabetes cure is misleading and the Nigerian press needs to be a bit more responsible. Some of our Journalist and their newspapers are now mouthpiece for some people with delusions of grandeur. Most of our journalist need some training on scientific reporting but then again journalism of today is a reflecting of our academic decay of last decade!!! I do agree with aribisala --- where is the clinical trial to back up the claim of a cure. In the scientific world in Nigerian it is a deceptive publication to sell dietary pills---- profit trumps science---. In the other parts of the world this is utter nonsense and misleading grandiose claim. Diabetes according to WHO is on track to be a global epidemic in another decade or two and if this is that breakthrough treatment (cure) then Dr Izevbigie's accolates will be measured on a richter's scale and be in line for a nobel prize in science!!!
PoliticsRe: No Honest Nigerian Like Buhari – Bakare by Waterway: 7:56am On Dec 17, 2011
For those of us Nigerians who have voted for Goodluck, ask yourself are you better off today than you were four years ago. The fact is that we have a group of elites that claimed onwership of the country and hence they suck life out of our beloveth country. We have not gotten any reasonable policy out of this dubious characters. Governance for them is access to government covers, inflated budgets to enrich themselves and their cronies, not policies to better Nigeria. They all have benefitted from the sacrifices of true Nigerians Tafawa Balewa, Azikiwe, Papa Awolowo etc. The country has been hijacked by sycophants, those who have bought offices by their nefarious 419 activities and now have made it to the highest office of the nation to unlease on society ---- bankrupt a nation ---- . Sadly they are following the scripts of our colonial masters but we "the people" cannot see it. They have created artificial issues to divide a nation along tribal and religious lines (a distraction) while they siphon $$$ out to their accounts overseas. They live in opulence while the masses are crushed by economic hardship created by corrupt selected leaders. We have billions missing , EFCC, ICPC but yet how many of these rogues are in Jail huh? We have failed in looking past these distractions and have not improved in our ability to ELECT a leader by making sure our votes count. We have failed to take ownership in our country by not demandind for good governance. We can each start by pledging allegiance to our country not our tribes because we all will be better off living in a country that cares about its citizen and creates environment where we feel that we BELONG in a country NIGERIA.

Let us get off Bakare's case; at least he spoke up --- Save Nigeria Group. Give kudos to others Dr Shigba -- Nigeria Rally Movement --- Rather let us encourage those who try to stand up for our country and protect its conscience. Form a PAC -political action committee- in your schools , church, mosque, neighborhood, village with no association to a political party but to debate the issues and empower/ enlighten the masses , take ownership in the country and demand leadership that can take most of the country along to reclaim what we were --Giant of Africa-- not the fool of Africa. Enough of the mockery , Let the " Nigerian Spring" start by forming your own PAC!!!!
