good ke, na death penalty. Engaging in an unplanned and notwell surpported coup is the worst mistake any man can ever make.[/quote]We only die once. Mandela knew he might be killed but thank goodness he believed in the struggle despite the dire consequences!!!
The principle here is that the coup plotters were protesting the manipulation of the constitution for THIRD TERM.!!! The Current president needs to step down and like other good leaders around the world ----the country is greater than an individual !

Too much greed in African countries with corrupt leaders wanting to stay in power for eternity. More African countries need to speak against this trend as it is destabilizing the regions/continent. Too many wars and grief as a result of GREED of so called leaders. What makes anyone of these arrogant African leaders think their respective countries cannot find anyone better ----. Every citizen of the country should abide by the constitution and have a chance at any political office by ballots. This African madness of perpertuating oneself in office must STOP !!

PoliticsRe: Ayiri Emami Urges Buhari To End Amnesty Program For Ex Militants by Waterway: 9:19am On May 02, 2015
The billionaire knows what good governance does to a community or people. Let the business men, the ultra-rich in Nigerdelta , who have physical presence ( home/business/family ) and have most of thier investment in the area be the architects of the next phase to rehabilitation of the Niger delta. NDDC and the allocations for the program probed. So I support the Billionaire Ayiri but rather than stop Amnesty , I suggest go to phase II where every Niger deltan ( or majority) feels the reward and compensation for all the destruction of their land . We need Fed govt & local business leaders to make transparent and tangible contributions BUT NOT Shun the Voice of the masses of NIGER DELTA !! The students sent overseas needs be acounted for and reminded they owe a debt to Niger delta. They need to be part of the rehab and development of Niger delta. So when people who have "their skin in the game " are involved, knowing their local business and carreers directly connect to the oil pipeline & industry then they will make sure no sabotage of industry because they see the dividends on the ground as --- best universities / first class hospitals/ roads/ hotels / free education for all Niger deltans up to first degree. In another decade theses educated young Nigerians will changes our lives in this country by maximizing profits of this natural resources. They will have a higher level of middle class , eradicate poverty all of which equals stability in any civil society. The issue here is that our greedy law-makers will not sacrifice their largesse /fat allowances to see poor man in Niger deltan move up the ladder to middle class. We have this sick mentality of master -servant in our country. It is time we empower the youths of Niger delta (and Northern Nigeria ) with a message that this administration is about youth empowerment and reconciliation, investing in their future (our future as a nation) so we can build a stronger nation. So my fellow nairalanders the struggle of Niger delta is a struggle of Nigeria. You see this same issue in Northern Nigeria Vis a Vis --recruits for Boko Haram. These are all issues steming from corrruption and neglect of the biggest part of our demographics ( the youths) ....
Car TalkRe: Acting Igp Re-empasizes Ban On Roadblocks. by Waterway: 12:39am On May 02, 2015
@ Ag IGP Arase

The problem is not the roadblocks but some of your corrupt men in uniform and indiscipline. It is a fact that the presence of Police on roadblock is directly inversely related to number of highway robberies. The Police - Citizen Friction is result of indiscipline and corruption in the Police force. If the Police remains in the neighborhood, harrasing citizens with bribe collection then you only moved the issue from highway to cities/homes leading to worse frictions. Rather empower citizens to document and report these misdeeds to a designated committee or body and a transparent investigation done and disciplinary actions follows to remove these bad elements.. Driving through military roadblocks a yr ago then a police roadblock you can see the difference in demeanor and expectations ...it is like night and day.

So Mr IGP keep our NPF on roads but change it to highway patrol teams. Notice same on the roads in US & Europe. ( Combined military/police) Roadblocks on all major entrance/exit roads from a city works ( check out Enugu) .Please equip your men to respond to distress calls of robbery and pay them on time so they dont collect bribe then apply zero-tolerance to bribe collection ---Pls do not expose citizens to this hoodlums without a formidable protection plan in place . Police to reduce crime but not harrass innocent citizens-----Wind of Change is in town!!!!

SURGERY WITH FLASH-LIGHT::::::::

This is what you get in a country that does not value merits but rather favouritism. Sell PHCN privatization to my brother, tribesman, friend but not even one world class generating/transmission/distribution company was given light of day to be involved in this dubious privatization...Let the PDP sycophants/thugs clap for themselves because they will be next to hold a flashlight for operations or no electricity to run the life support/ventilator when next they slump and Europe/India and US will be too far away as they loose their lives as a result of the Havoc they created for evey aspect of our institutions/industry. Nigerians dying due to ignorance and dubious leaders...Buhari /APC you've got the mandate now address the issue !!!!!! Or you will be out of office . NIGERIANS are watching and we are no longer card carrying members but now INDEPENDENTS who vote for betterment of their lives and integrity !!!!!

--Electricity ( review performance of those that won the bid, revoke their license if non-performing within alloted time or do not have the capital to do the job.... Buhari needs not recreate the wheels but find the likes of Call Soludo and Sanusi they did it for our banks and now we have first class banks we have those that can do it for PHCN privatization and for every Nigerian!!!!

--Corruption : Buhari needs to probe all those glaring scandals (pension scam/NNPC/ subsidy scam) swept under the rug. Enact a law that cares for welfare of every Nigerian , where it is an offense punishable by life imprisonment and inability to run for office if found guilty of embezzlement of state funds . Nigerians voted on these TWO fundamental issues that has malligned the psyche of every red-blooded Nigerian. I will have voted PDP if GEJ had addresses these issues in a credible and verifiable manner . Rather Myopic & idiotic ministers telling us certain things were impossible while they fly out to Europe / US/India where their citizens have made it possible.

--- Revize legislators/elected official's salary to be in line with our GDP/ other countries and our citizens .....Nigerians will like the excess to stop and be used to ressurect and uphold standard in our edcucational system -- our future as a relevant nations.

Enough said .

3) what other areas/towns outskirt of Enugu (besides ninth mile ) has larger aquefer of fresh water huh

4) For those in Enugu and its environ who have well water, can you instal Reverse Osmosis system to purify/treat the water ?

5) what is the average labor cost to set up the system if I already have an R.O system ?

Spyder is a visionary and I commend your efforts.

Agree on some points from macjive01. My suggestions are to consider:

OPTION 1
You dont have to look too far to see some sound exclusive estates ( Lagos, Abuja) with such suggestions.

The estate must have building codes with areas for bungalow ( already designated ) and areas for duplex and multidwelling buildings of one storey bldg or one -storey semidetach duplex. A high -rise building in an estate will overwhelm the amenities and reduces resale values . Discourage any commercial ctr shopping plaza, malls, church etc that attract hoodlums to your community and source of crime.

Road network, drainage, transformer and perimeter fence with entry & exit gate , street lined with royal palms & lights.----should attract its own payment ( developmental fee). This will mean a plot will go for N3-5million, a hard sell for the location today
An estate mgt office and recreation ctr could be on 2plots (pool & tennis courts & gym where one can exercise and pay membership fee )

OPTION 2.
The target clientelle here is ok with the very minimal basics. Cannot affort the luxury above. They dont all have cars. They dont want to live next to a church/ factory. They still want a serene environment to relax and raise family.
Will not be an estate but development of a subdivision or satellite town with some sense of united community. Plot owners will not be restricted by any building codes but will pool resources to provide basic amenities like transformer, graded road and drainage system/culvert . The roads will be graded every 1 -2yrs by occupants of each street pooling resources together.

Of above, I will suggest go with option 2 to keep cost reasonable and make this a success.

We need to thank Lt Col Oyekola..... For preventing another tragedy of ignorance !!!

This is a symptom of failed Health Care system (if we have one) . Folks , remember psychiatric illness is real. Psychosis is an altered state of mind. The patient ( madman as he is sadly referred to ) most likely was having auditory hallucinations, voices telling him to protect the woman or family from harm ( the man) hence this tragic incident . Now if he had appropriate diagnosis in a country with good healthcare system, prescribed unadulterated MEDICATIONS, supervised by a psychiatrist then very slim chance this tragedy would be news today. The corollary is blaming you for your Kidney failure because you have hypertension or daibetes ( two know cause of kidney failure). Remember the genes for diabetes and hypertension were donated to you by your patrents ..My brothers and sister in Ughelli , don't lynch this man , he was in a psychotic state which none of us will wish upon anyone . He was and is SICK . Call for your community leaders to address the health care system in your local govt, State . Strict zoning is a welcome idea for this estate. I will suggest a demarcation into : duplex & bungalow / multifamily dwellings/ business & school.. Discourage churches or any place of worship in the estate due to traffic and noise that will dampen the excitement of potential investors..What is the geophysical survey for this area with regard to drilling a borehole for water . Awaiting layout of plots . I plan on buying 4plots for now.

The difference is that neither Nzeogwu,Anuforo,Okafor,Gbulie or Chukwuka who all participated in that first coup are asking to be your president today. Also note that all of these men who conducted the first coup were all punished with various jail terms at the end of the war while people like Buhari,Murutala,Danjuma,Jerry Useni and co who commited far worse atrocities in their counter coup were all promoted. It's only in a country like Nigeria that a person who commited cold blooded murder like Buhari can come back after 50 years and say he wants to become president.
reember the USA , Israel all fought recent wars (with so many lives lost on both sides ) by sitting presidents who won re-election. Wars have no real winners but all involve loose but dialogues and negotiations produce winners on both sides !!!

- State has 2m Internally Displaced Persons

The Borno State government painted a graphic picture of Boko Haram terrorism in the state when it says that the sect has seized control of 20 of the 27 local government areas of the state over the last five years.

Only Maiduguri Metropolitan, Jere, Konduga, Kaga, Bayo, Kwayakusar and Biu local government areas remain in government hands.

The state also said it has 2million Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to cater for and that it recently evacuated 45, 000 of such displaced persons from neighbouring Adamawa State. These facts were made available by the state Deputy Governor, Zanna Umar Mustapha.

More are to be evacuated, Mustapha said during a sympathy visit to IDPs from Askira Uba, Lassa, Chibok, Gwoza.

He added that the welfare of the IDPs alone is costing the state N600m per month.

The deputy governor commended the military and other security agencies in Adamawa and Borno states for their battle against insurgency in the North-East but appealed to them to intensify their efforts.

He assured the IDPs of government’s resolve to bring the situation under control.

Soldiers that betray and sabotage the fight against Boko. As Boko fights Nigerians, APC blames President Jonathan over insecurity in Nigeria. Some gullible Nigerians agree that Jonathan is a weak president. But Jonathan had since deployed the best of military personnel and ammunition Nigeria could pay for.

Worse, in 2001, Buhari a retired general and one time Head-of-State urged Muslims to ensure that sharia-criminal codes are used in all of Nigeria. Boko Haram is fighting for a sharia criminal codes-friendly country in Nigeria.

Buhari has never changed from being a Tyrant and INSENSITIVE to Nigeria's DIVERSITY. He remains the only Nigerian Muslim leader that had a Muslim as his deputy.
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM--------I Beg to differ

Let us look at history and compare the credentials ......Part of our great country Nigeria is in a "state of war" . Over 300 people abducted and our current president and his corrupt advisers/cabinet is reading the same script. Let us not repeat old clique but do some critical thinking. Our neighbors, the community of natios are watching this event with dismay. We cannot buy weapons from countries with the best 21st century military hardware because they do have lost faith in our leaders and the direcetion of our government....Good or bad, the present govt must own all of it, as it is happening under their watch......

Over 300fellow Nigerians ( kids/students/women) abducted ....where is the condemning speech by our president and sincere engagement
Soldiers complain they get death sentence but 2billion naira missing/stolen by members and friends of the govt, they get house arrest .....
Pension fund of our parents missing /stolen......nobody in jail
Petroleum subsidy scam ....... Electricity investment scam.......
Death squads and armed robbery on the rise........
Failed educational system churning out half-baked graduates unable to compete in a global economy......
Failed health care system.....ministers & president taking pride in travelling overseas for medical check up.....SAD!
Govt choosing to count construction of streets and buildings as achivement---Is this sincere or smoke-screen
Friends of govt can raise 21billion naira in one day for voting themselves back into system that is enriching them while our lives in perils and university closed for 6mths because of pay
Now our currency is in free-fall because no foresight to diversify economy. How can you even think ahead when you have agovt full of untested leaders but even worse is secondary school/univ-dropouts .

We as fellow Nigerians must ask ourselves what type of Leader is more prepared to lead us through the challenges of today and prepare us for a better future. A leader that will spur inflow of investments and has the credibility that speaks for itself. Less MOU from investors and more actual footprints of investors and industries to employ me, you and our families . The beauty of a true democratic system is that it is open and equal opportunity for all and when it is free and fair system , it strenghtens its institutions and business flourishes. It does not get side-tracked by state of origin or religious affiliations. Infact a derailed democratic system breeds fanatism and fundamentalists because they feel disenfranchised , impoverished and see no hope in the future. So look around you what symptoms do you see in Nigeria....If you have an ailment like Nigeria( a sick patient) , wouldn't it be wise to seek another Doctor , a second opinion now ..

Yes , give JEG credit for revitalizing rail system . I wish he picked and "delivered" electricity and saw the multiplier effects of that sector for times like now....

Our president JEG has been given 6yrs and if he has not done most of it in that time , then he cannot do it in next 4yrs. The challenges of today require experience , good leadership and the credentials. The hope was that PDP will give us new experience as candidates on this presidential TICKET but rather the personal greed superceeded national interest . Nigeria needs her Mandela and MLK ....The economic inequality and social injustice, jungle justice , subversion of the rule of law has created palpable fracture of our Nigerian psyche, our unity. We need a Nigerian president to lead these rainbow of cultures and tribes not a tribalistic political system /democracy. I see all of the attributes of a better Nigeria & leadership in the present APC ticket. Dont vote the political party but vote for the candidates !!

This election is an existential decision for one Nigeria, the one that makes us all proud to be citizens. So lets us get our friends and neighbors to vote the candidates that will lead us to that pinnacle of good democratic dividends and not slowly into the abyss!!!

On the master plan of the 100plots, can you:
----- delineate blocks 1, 2, 3, 4
----- clarify the type of building allowed in block 1 Vs block 2 since it is the same price (1m)
----- identify any (natural) body of water in the estate ( stagnant or flowing stream)
----- when will the buldozing/creating of entrance to each block take place . Will this mean a road in the middle of each of the 4 blocks ?
----- will there be estate levy /annual dues for estate maintenance of road networks/electrical -transformer substation, grounds services
like maitenance of the landscape along these road networks

It's not an understatement to say that most Nigerians are tired of the present administration.
Come on! we have had enough!
- No power
- No job
- No peace
- No functional refinery e.t.c.
Yet, our politicians and oga at the top are stealing millions EVERYDAY.
We can't continue to tolerate all this nonsense.
Some people say that GEJ is not corrupt but he's only surrounded by corrupt people - That must be silliest thing I have heard so far. As far as I'm concerned, GEJ is one of the most corrupt leader to have ever ruled Nigeria after IBB. Yes!
South-south and south-east people are not truly also happy with the way GEJ is running this country. They are only being tolerant to him because, ( he is their son ) They will prefer him to continue ruling this way even though they are not happy with him.
The problem of this country is truly not religious.
Our problem is GREED!!!
We need to really be tolerant to each other.
Nigeria is a very diverse country with many religion and tribe.
Everyone needs to really respect each other. IT IS SENSELESS for anyone to want impose his believe on others in a country like Nigeria. e.g, imposing sharia law. That can never work in Nigeria, even in the north because, there are many Hausa and Fulani indigenes that are Christians.
Also, some youths are saying that they tired of all this old people ruling us...
The problem is not whether somebody is old or not. What I think we need is somebody who can do the job well whether old or young.
Haven't we tested some young people in the past? e.g (speaker of house of rep, aviation minister, e.t.c) what did we get at the end of the day?
An average Nigerian is frustrated with country and just looking for any opportunity to run out of the country for greener pasture or have a share in the "national cake". Just last week, a youth corper ran away with 2.3 million naira, money meant for 144 other corpers.
I don't think GEJ can move this country forward.
.
.
My choice for 2015 presidential candidates;
Note: I see this people as capable, tested and trusted. No APC. No PDP.
1. Buhari/Fashola - 2015.
2. Fashola/Donald Duke.
3. Kwankwaso/Donald Duke.
4. Buhari/Donald Duke.
5. Buhari/Oshiomole.
6. Fashola/Kwankwaso.
7. Fashola/Oshiomole

CREDENTIALS : RELIGION Vs MERITS Vs MEDIOCRITY -------WHICH WAY NIGERIANS !!!!!!!!!!!!

Great pairing of candidates --------
They have said it all !!! Nigerians at the door step of for a generational turn-around or the ABYSS !!!....... If other countries we so admire are built on merits/performance NOT religious bigotry then why not us. We have men & women in uniform working across all lines (tribal & religion) and they have not forced or sworn allegiance to any religion but rather to ONE nigeria. Religion currently is tearing apart our communities in the north and and killing us and wasting our most valuable resources ...
Let us celebrate our diversity, not use it to divide our country. There is strength in diversity, if harnessed in the right form, by the right people/leaders. We belong to a community of nations. Let us pick a leader to take ALL Nigerians -- Atheist, Tradionalist, Christian, Muslim, from North , South, East , West --- proudly take us to that community of nations and take our seat with pride on that table!!! Vote for your economic future, jobs, security and respect for rule of law...The only people benefitting from our resources today are most of our present leaders. Billions of naira misssing every year while we languish in this country .... They have spent 4, 6, 8 yrs in office and cannot make policies that can engineer this country back or close to the days of pride as a nation. Look at the value they place on our education.... students at home for mths without a federal policy to address the issue, fuel subsidy scam, pension scam and nobody in JAIL !!! Acting with impunity and granting themselves immunity... This is inexcusable and is an indictment of the current political brass !!! Find your recent graduating relatives ( the Future of our country) ask them : JOBS or religious sentiments which do they prefer..... Fellow Nigerians ask yourselves this question before you vote : will a job and economic security bring that religious tolerance enjoyed in other developed country huh We can only expect the same result ( corruption/joblessness/lawlessness/armed robbery/religious fanatics) by voting the same way (tribal & religious sentiment) Let us vote on record of candidates , not promises and NOT these polarizing sentiments !!!

ajf: I think governor Fashola is gradually loosing touch with reality lol.....
Policies should be made that improves the lives of majority of the people and provide good & clear alternatives.
The rash of bad policies only continues to highlight how the "rich/bourgeois" are uncomfortable with the lives of the "poor".
These policy makers need to create jobs! making policies that stimulates local economy and create jobs. Jobs create the middle class and that moves a segment of society to the point where they can live with such policy change. A middle class that can afford cloth washing machine and dryer. Of course you need steady power supply which the govt has not been able to provide. Young graduates that can come together and get Small business loan from banks at rates subsidized by govt of the state. You see these policies are highlighting symptoms in a system ravaged by a disease ---corruption of infinite proportions--. The present day fed & state govt is giving the wrong prescription to segment of society that does not matter to them, because they have no VOICE. Yes, no voice and that applies to most of us on this forum and 90% of Nigerians!!!!. But you push this segment to the brink and since it has nothing to loose, it will unleash its suppressed might on the bourgeois in Lagos/Nigeria. Remember the French revolution ..... I see the Nigerian revolution coming.

Fine for tinted glass........
Fine for digging boreholes............
Fine for Line drying your clothes in your own house (not in a business district) ............
Soon there will be fine for not owing a car/or walking our roads .............

So do you see the wisdom in this policies by a govt that has not done its part and want citizens to bear full responsibility for their mess!!!
