PoliticsRe: 2023: 10 Reasons Why Tinubu Will Win – Pastor Adelaja by Waterway: 9:39pm On Jul 12, 2022
Most of you supporting Tinubu probably depend on the payment his campaign has given you to come on this platform to speak on his behalf....just like some Africans sold others into slave trade until the conscientious majority acted to stop. Tinubu will NOT be president of Nigeria. The larger Nigerian populace /the conscientious majority is no longer as gullible to believe the rhetoric they have moved on beyond the fake prophesies of the past. They are well informed and have access to all the antecedents of each candidate and they will speak come 2023. Emancipate yourself from incessant strikes/ASUU,death traps —-nija roads, poor healthcare in run down hospitals, no pathway for home ownership because we have no economy that can build a middle class. Dont waste the next generation of Nigerians, let’s vote out BAT , PDP and these old bags , they need to bow out and own up to their role in the dilapidated infrastructure and chaos in our country today. BAT gave Lagos crumbs while busy buying up the state for pennies. He still has his hands in LSG treasury collecting pension that is enough to fund education , healthcare etc...so now you know why your life will not get better until we remove the parasites in our economy and make it work for all of us, not just a few greedy politicians. Compare Lagos to Capital of Singapore or Malaysia and not another failed state——Let’s raise the bar!

If in doubt, ask for a debate between the candidates then you see clearly who has a grasp of the issues and solutions. Other nations and leaders of the G7 , G20 will take us serious when we do the right thing and vote competent people that know what it takes to build a 21st century economy
Let’s give Nigeria the oxygen it needs, vote the candidate, vote competence, vote LP/Labor Party
PoliticsRe: 2023: Obasanjo Promoting Peter Obi In The North - Mahdi Shehu (Video) by Waterway: 1:56am On Jul 06, 2022
Mr Mahdi Shehu....he sounds bitter and like a man on vengeance. He recounts all of the ills of the past and for that reason Nigeria should be held back. Youths ,retired unpaid workers, almajiris should pay the price and continue the vindictive and toxic leadership of the last decade. This is why there are many agitations in Nigeria today . People like Mahdi Shehu and their venomous recitations of the ills of the past. People like Mr Mahdi Shehu are exactly Nigeria is not moving forward and fractured along ethno-religious lines. My parents worked in the civil service, lived in 7 of old 19 states, fond memories of my friends from all parts of Nija growing up. we speak all of the major languages in my family. Let’s build on the strength of our diversity and not use in in adversarial act or tone....let’s retire people like Mahdi Shehu. Let make our youths and education a priority . Le’s vote competence and those that can stand toe to toe and debate any relevant economic policy. Let's make our economy work. Let’s vote Peter Obi!
PoliticsRe: 10 Reasons Why I Support The Atiku-okowa Ticket - Reno Omokri by Waterway: 2:33am On Jun 17, 2022
10 Reasons to not waste your vote on PDP or APC......the last 10yrs of your life in Nigeria, is it any better.? If you are reading this and above age of 18yrs, your next decade will be wasted if you vote any of these two parties. In fact don’t bother planing your future because there will be none. How can you expect anything better from the same political parties who switch sides when it soothes their personal interest not their constituents. If you buy this rubbish by a paid mouthpiece , aka Omokri , then you really deserve the status quo/enslavement by these thieves. Unload the yoke of political slavery, Help your destiny , vote Peter Obi !
PoliticsRe: 2023: Govs Take Charge As Uncertainty Hovers Over Osinbajo, Tinubu by Waterway: 6:11pm On Jan 29, 2022
How do you compare Tinubu (?integrity) to real class (Mr Integrity Osibanjo). Osibanjo is the only way APC can remain in power 2023. He has demonstrated a leadership quality (vis-a-vis Buhari’s sojourn to UK hospital) when he was in charge. He values rule of law and his background in academia informs me. He will make a far better President of Nigeria that will garner respect and redirect investment into Nigeria that 200million will be the beneficiaries. In contrast Tinubu will benefit a few at the expense of 200million ; like our “career” politicians. Ask yourself why Tinubu has not spoken up for Nigeria as a governor or private citizen while the atrocities of herdsmen and banditry festered but you will agree he only speaks along the lines of his cronies. It is all in the body language. Osibanjo’s presidency will herald in era of integrity , rule of law, investment in digitized system and HOPE for emergence of NEW NIGERIA while Tinubu will be status quo!!!

The only way to emancipate Nija from the present mirage of political class and promise of dividends of democracy is an alternative political party with class.......people who are more of what we aspire to be and have the background to make Nija a 21st century economy and country of rule of law. A country that is truly United Where all are equal . Emancipate this generation and next....vote for the alternative. It is time for an alternative to the nightmare and ridicule of democratic system by APC and PDP...let’s Move on to the alternative.....gives us The MegaParty. Let’s get agberos and degree forgers out of the helm of power in Nija and bring back some Class. I Like to ask our politically conscious social activists to ROCK D VOTE 2023 for the soul of Nija. Falz and Banky where are you guys at this cross road.?

ECTDA is an den of extortionists......Mr Onoh and co is playing ostrich here. If you want a better country, state and Local govt , we must start the cleanup at home. If we hold our local officials responsible for their corrupt acts , our communities will be better off. Folks, Bihari and Aso Rock is not the issue but these guys and their corrupt practices is the issue. They are getting rich off our collective misery. Try building in Enugu then you will encounter the extortion of ECTDA ...the popular X from ECTDA. Money that should go the state is collected by these crooks, paid into their bank accounts. Why can’t ENugu State Govt digitize this services so that we can pay for permits online to legit ECTDA account.....

This is as low as it gets! This crop of politicians sharing their largesse.....state funds/ the people’s money. Bribery and Corruption in public display. You wonder why nothing works? Endless strikes and lack of infrastructure because funds are divided in all states of FEd Republic of Nigeria. So if you are fed up get your PVC card , mobilize your street and colleague to VOTE THEM OUT. Protest with your votes. This administration does not have what it takes to get through this debacle of insecurity, economic challenges and getting the country ready for growth. Moreover ; we have a president who is aloof and a Vice President office that is for photo ops. When next we cast votes ; if we ever have the opportunity to do so, it is going to be “existential” vote. Gray hair does NOT equal leadership and the smarts needed to run a 21st economy and lead 120million people. Look to verifiable expertise/experience until then let’s hope we don’t slip into the abyss. Do you really think these two guys have ANYTHING to offer as workable solution that anybody can count on?....disappointed!
PoliticsRe: Gbolahan Macjob: DJ Switch Should Be Prosecuted by Waterway: 9:31pm On Oct 25, 2020
DJ switch is a courageous woman.... history will see her on the right side of this struggle along with Aisha Yesufu; whose speech will go down in history as the MLK speech “ l have a dream”. Mr Gbolahan Macjob you are the “ wimp” referred to in the speech of Aisha Yesufu. The voice of the people is the voice of God....Listen and reflect on 1970 to present and ask : Is your life better than your parents life? Where are our vibrant manufacturing plants of the 70s, 80s? Did your parents die waiting for their pension? Did your university go on perennial or 1yr strike.? Did the healthcare /Hosp of Nigeria have the capacity to deliver quality healthcare? Did you graduate from university and had jobs? Could you support a family with minimum wage but then again if the senators are giving you perks and Nija is working for you and not the masses, don’t they have the right to peaceful protest. The only constant from 1970 to today is recycled old men with no ideas. It is time for them to go and make room for a brilliant generation of youths in a digital age. So now the Euphemism #EndSARS is a struggle asking for sense of ownership and purpose in this country . Every region in the world is looking inward and asking how can we better our nation and ourselves. The answer in NOT in a recycled group of old men who have failed 3generations . This generation of young men & women are about to unlock the full potential of Nija and dare I say that of Subsaharan Africa.
PoliticsRe: President Buhari's Address On EndSARS Protests (Full Text) by Waterway: 1:23am On Oct 23, 2020
We the people need to do our due diligence to examine those who contest for office and know they have the capacity to run the office. They must be relevant to the vision we seek as a nation. They must have leadership qualities of bringing people together and have been tested. Buhari and most of our senators, members of house of reps, commissioners, LG chairman, councilors are not representing or accountable to their constituents. Today and last wk highlights all of the above and the disconnect that is created by lack of accountability to the people they represent and the sense of impunity of all these so called “elected” inexperienced officers. These group of the “privileged” earn too much in salary, perks and embezzlement to feel the angst of poverty in the land today. While other nations are putting money in the pocket of their citizens , our so- called leaders are increasing fuel price and electricity tarriff. Now they have seen that the line between hunger and hopelessness in Nigeria is very thin. What people needed were palliatives not extortion from all arms of govt. Sense of solidarity will be reduction in salary of all of above offices and used as COVID 19 palliatives across the 36states. Rather than a protest , I bet we would have witnessed a more patriotic country/ Nigerians feeling a sense of belonging and ownership in our great nation.

Yes the govt has deliberately side-stepped the meaning of the #EndSARS protest. #EndSARS is an indignant response to the repugnant sense of indifference by a callous political elites of today (PDP/APC/APGA) . They have dismissed the youths for too long and created an economy that works for the elite and not the rest of us. They created and have been guardians of a nation where dreams die! Cost of running a biz in Nija is amongst the highest in the world. If they cared to listen to the eloquent speech of Aisha Yesuf and the many placards carried by the protesters, they will realize that it is about citizenship, police brutality & extortion, equal opportunity and security, education, infrastructures, corruption and yes it a protest to reduce of salary of those in office to be commensurable to any other civil servants. The sacrifice has to start from the top before Asking the people to do theirs Vis-a-Vis increase fuel price and tariffs. When is senate going to convene to make it a punishable offense for police to take money/bribes on the roads and be dismissed from the NPF? When are we going to make the NPF a professional force....increasing pay scale of NPF does not stop extortion at roadblocks! Wake up Senators!

We need to avoid the usual trap of tribal or religious distractions or the tricks of our aged politicians. We need to stop the protest and give 6months and if no visible policy changes to address the issues then don’t burn your neighborhood but rather take the protest to the government offices—- a sit-in peaceful, protest in all houses of assembly across the country and all govt office in Abuja. All schools should be forced to closed and all students /youths mandated to show up. Yes, it is a fight for our future and we all have a stake in this fight. Hopefully we will have a police force that will join the youths in solidarity as we all demand better leadership and accountability in govt.
Let them/political class be the aggressors but take the protest to them on a neutral ground —- federal and state buildings. God Bless Nija

Nigerian leaders are very stupid, they don't know how to govern citizens of a country.
In Ghana there's secessionist group of people in the Volta region of Ghana that want to leave the country and become independent, they sieze police vehicles, closed down all radio stations in their regions and was chanting they want to leave they're marginalized.
. The Ghanaian government did not send soldiers to shoot at those secessionist groups, the government showed maturity by apprehending those groups of people who were out of law and order.
The government didn't cause mayhem by shooting at protesters in that region.
As we speak these secessionist groups would be charged to court next week to face the law.
On like the Nigerian government that can't respect the rules of law to kill innocent protesters there by escalating the whole situation. Now everywhere in Nigeria is in anarchy because the government didn't do due diligence to control the situation of the protest instead they escalated it by shooting at people.
Pablo Escobar the renowned drug baron and his gang caused mayhem in Colombia but the government control the situation, they did not send soldiers to shoot at innocent people.

This highlights the syndrome that has stunted development in many parts of the country. The lawlessness in the country. Everyone blames leadership as if youths ( area boys /omonile/Ogba ne Che Agu )etc are herds of zombies that cannot reason to know how this selfish and illegal extortions from developers keeps their communities poor for yrs. When uneducated rogues run the local, state, federal govt this type of extortions are rampart. Google speech by President of Ghana this yr. We will shut down a free clinic and forget that someday that facility will save your life or that when your parent, your community leader when he slumps or have an urgent medical problem. How can you reason with those who cut their nose to spite their face. Those who are a penny wise but pound foolish. Extort your way and miss out on opportunities that can change your communities. Why not negotiate other non-monetary services like task the clinic to expand Into services such as nursing school , medical school, world class heart Ctr that brings the money into your community. So don’t blame myopic leaders , but blame youths who have not emancipated themselves from this archaic policies meant to enrich a few rather than develop their communities and the end result is perennial unemployment!

I have been harping on high cost of governance for a long time. but as long as they can borrow to keep paying salaries, that is exactly what they will do. New cars for senators every year will continue.

If borrowing is blocked, they would begin raising taxes, and concocting new bank charges on people's savings and transactions.
Nigeria belongs to the elites. Their immediate needs come first.

President Buhari doesn't know what is going on on the street, as he lives in an echo chamber.

Nigeria needs people in power like...
Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno,
Gov. Abdulrazaq of Kwara,
Gov. El Rufai,
Emir Sanusi,
Omoyele Sowore,
and the like.

Patience in wearing thin, and the noise from Biafra, and Oduduwa is getting louder.
I hope Buhari listens and commences the process of restructuring the unreasonably high salaries people in power take home.
With the likes of these guys above and add to that list......Gov Umahi/Ebonyi and Gov Ben Ayade/Cross River.....we can start the process to unlock the potential of a new Nigeria and stop the political enslavement of our great nation /people.

Edo State can help lead the protest against this Corrupt mindset of the present political class. Just like we have the Public outcry spilled all over the world on racial injustice , sparked by one of too many cases of police brutality.........Edo State can help lead the Nigerian nation and be the spark that starts to help rid the country of this self-serving and corrupt political class who speak from both sides of their mouth like Ex-governor Oshiomole. Edo people should take back their rights to elect their leaders by following Obaseki and send Oshiomole and (his “thief”) Pastor Iyamu to political Oblivion. With this display of becoming a king-maker , Oshiomole is telling you reading this post that you life, success, right as anEdo/Nigerian depends on Oshiomole and nothing is your God-given rights! We must start politics of character not party. In Nigeria we need to form independent party of youths that can sway the votes in favor of the youths and not these thieves. Edo people please emancipate yourselves and Nigeria at large from political enslavement .....make the statement of 1897 just like our Oba Ovonramwen, I implore you to reject the enslavement by Oshiomole. !!!!

At the end of the day....the installed cronies are rich overnight and still no jobs, no good roads, educational system cannot compete with the western world, no good healthcare system. So we are all Nigerians occupying a State and nation that is meant to enrich a few personalities rather than create opportunities for you and I and the future generations. Can we start discussion to compare and contrast the achievements of each governor....Oshiomole Vs Obaseki.

Which Oshiomole do we have today? The same guy who brought Obaseki to Edo State with the so-called screening process and vetting done. Today and like many occasions, these group of politicians have been counting on the docile citizens to believe whatever reason they conjure for continued ridicule of integrity in Nigerian politics and leadership. Majority of these politicians do not have much to contribute to move the people/country forward but are there for their own selfish interest to embezzle public funds and enrich themselves. This is why in a course of a day Oshiomole and his likes can be on both sides of a issue or switch party affiliation and placate their gullible constituents with laughable reasons. For most in Edo State and Nigeria, for our lives to be better than our parents; we have to make a conscious decision to break from the norm; take a chance and seek out new or young progressives to bring in new ideas to move this country/people forward. Those who can create opportunity for 21st century business, jobs and opportunities. Those who show evidence of big business coming to town but not sinking boreholes as achiement. Take a stance against politicians who continue to put themselves above the people and Attempt to muzzle and disefranchise the people. If you are below age 40 there is increasing probability that this group (have a questionable financially secured future/family unit ) and will bear the brunt of the disillusioned and greedy present day politicians. We need young politicians to disrupt the status quo and give the mandate back to the people. Vote and guard your vote . We need these greedy old and corrupt guys/Oshiomole and co out of the way and allow other young leaders to shape our political parties and country with integrity. Good business is about customer satisfaction and customer service.
Alonu, I have been calling you at your number xxxxxx344 , sent you the details requested for area (115sqm) needing repair in my building. We started talking in November about buying the Axion Tuffcrete cement and liquid polymer but you have been difficult to reach hence came to this forum. I wanted to fix or repair before Christmas but still waiting for you to give me quotations/cost and payment arrangements and hopefully get the product in good time. I hope you respond to all customers with small and big projects with same level of enthusiasm and Expedience. I came back to your company because the product works but I am hoping there will be improvement in customer service /expediency of service/delivery of product. Could you specify the cost of 4 bags of tuffcrete cement and 1gallon of diluted polymer ; your location in Abuja and port harcourt. To make it easier , I will arrange For someone to pick it up and forward to me and all you have to do is tell me the cost and the date to pick it up and pay. See your WhatsApp response to me on Nov 26, 2019.
Thanks

Anyone on this forum have information on Victory Estate, Lekki FTZ. The developer is Kayode Obembe. Is this developer credible. I bought plots from this company in 2016 and yet until date, no allocations of plots. Now in 2019 , the company wants developmental fee ( more money ) which was not disclosed upfront. The company says allocation to be made after developmental fees paid. Is this company credible..??.

My advise....

1) Focus on your business and grow it. Attend classes on entrepreneurship. Focus on delivering quality to your customers at competitive price. Seek for an outlet/partnership overseas (UK , Europe, US) to market your product. Your age puts you at an advantage that you know the demographics that will grow your business. Bill Gates did not finish college, started in his garage and now he is top three richest in world

2) Education , yes can wait. When your business is large enough you now have option of employing professional to run while you start something else or head to University anywhere in world. Trust me Harvard Univ will love you with that background.

3) Don't succumb to pressure from parents/family pushing education first before business.. Look around the world most successful business/designers were not due to the degrees attained but recognizing untapped opportunities......grow ur biz girl!

These estates will move as fast as the excitement of the buyers. I will advise time limit for installment payments and penalty
fee for missing deadlines. Refunds made for missing deadlines but forfeit part of payment. Some of us may have the cash to buy
( outright )but cannot because it is reserved...for how long?

Secondly, this is an investment and we may start thinking of developmental fees that will grade the roads to the area, otherwise it may take eternity to get these sites to take-off because we are waiting for govt to grade roads. So developer of estate/Tigerkenn can help by indicating projected time that one can expect grading of roads to site, which I hope coincides with when all plots are sold out and investors can build. Does developer have any info on when the presence of govt/infrastructure is expected in the area.

Lastly, can we get update on the last few available plots.

Can any geotechnical engr/builder shed some light on cost of performing soil sample test in the Southeast ,Nigeria.
Typical cost per hole punched to get samples.
How many soil samples or holes are punched per plot to collect samples
This post has been enlightening .

Soil test only for storey building.

I heared that medical students in nigeria will now spend 11 yrs in medical schools b4 they graduate lipsrsealed. that means if i decide to go back to school now i will graduate @56 wow!. then i will just retire and starting chopping my pension.

back to the topic, kudos to her she rep.ing us +'ly.
This is precisely why our leaders must look beyond tribe and political parties , Gray hair and old age and seek out professionals with credentials/resume who have ideas/vision to uplift our Great Nation. Kudos to Dr Ola Orekunrin. To all of you politicizing this issue, just think about what got this Nigerian Doctor to dedicate her life to this cause . This unfortunate scenario is what potentially can happen to any of us in the country. "Strokes / Heart attack/Slump/ High Velocity trauma/ Burns " are diagnosis used in Nigeria and killing us but yet it has not led to outcry for cohesive emergent medical services for our country . Pictures of auto accidents on our bad roads on nairaland, yet no outcry to fix that part of the road on the death-trap Nija highways .In developed world it results in emergent evacuation to nearest trauma hospital or hospital that can quickly open that clogged artery and save that live! Can our country /lawmakers together canvass for Regional solutions and the system that can begin to address this issue ...YES.. Can we budget 1% of national revenue to a problem that affects all of us and benefit all of us. ....YES... Our Leaders are misinformed & too complacent about healthcare risk that knows no economic/social class. Medical emergency affects us all equally. The Nigerian medical assoc & Ministry of health needs to push for designation of few Regional Hospitals as centers of excellence for --TRAUMA & MEDICAL emergencies and an ACTIVATION system that links transporting and receiving centers and please make it meet requirements of International Certification Board and open to its inspections. Ask Dr Orekunrin , it is possible , we only need to make it a priority . So my fellow Nigerians, find your national passion, form your local/state chapter of focus group for --- Nija Against Medical Tourism--- find your house assembly and get involved with the protest to bring focus on the issue the right way. Use your text msgs to get the word out. Leave Buhari/Good luck out of it but put yourself /friends and family in it and look for ways to make it a better Nija for all of us .

Best explanation for our present predicament in Nija.....The price we are paying for our inferiority complex as a nation...We need to wake up the spirit of nationalism and take pride in everything Nigerian, The drop in value of nairaland appears directly proportional to our level of support for our local industries/made in Nigeria.....Oyinbo people have found the weakness in the most populous black nation on the planet and they will capitalize on it! Nigerians really needs to look at " the man in the mirror". Great analysis by OP.

If this man is able to put out this buildings ( his personal assets ) from his long years of service as a banker I am wondering why he should border himself seeking for governor. The state treasury is down given the short fall in oil prices in the international market. what can he offer Abians?
\\\

Reallyhuh

What about service to your people , community , state , country . It seems Dr Otti has the experience to improve the lives of Abians through investments and policies to create better atmosphere for business to flourish and guess what ....more Abians may be able to move up the economic ladder to middle class and acquire wealth.....Right ?
