Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has regained his freedom after being released from the Kuje Minimum Custodial Centre in Abuja, News360 Nigeria reports.

His release, confirmed on the evening of December 20, 2024, followed the fulfillment of stringent bail conditions, including a ₦500 million bond mandated by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Bello's return home was marked by jubilant celebrations, with supporters and allies, including current Kogi Governor Usman Ododo, gathering at his residence to welcome him.

Videos of the occasion quickly circulated online, showcasing the former governor in high spirits amidst cheers and applause.

Adamu Duza, Bello’s spokesperson, confirmed the development, emphasizing that all legal protocols were adhered to in the process.

The former governor, along with co-defendants Shuaibu Oricha and Abdulsalam Hudu, is facing a 16-count charge filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The charges include conspiracy, criminal breach of trust, and unlawful possession of property, stemming from an alleged ₦110 billion fraud during his tenure.

Bello and his co-accused have pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the case is expected to continue as the EFCC pursues its investigation.

Without saying too much, I loved my mum dearly and I was providing for her and fending for her until she died recently, when she died I was the only one with her and no one cared, her husband is alive and he had beef with her, and I took her side while my other siblings took his side, when she died it felt like I lost the battle because they iced me out, said I bet on the wrong side and let me carry my cross alone, now she's gone I'm alone in this world and none of them talks to me, I feed myself, clothe myself and do every other things myself, difference is we still live together in a family house, he doesn't own the house though, I could be sick and indoors for a whole week and even die and no one would check on me, sometimes when I had nothing like I'm broke I'm left to get myself out of it alone, at some point I almost died before I could get myself to the hospital, point is I'm in my family house but basically alone in this world, now I'm planing to leave and never be seen again cuz there's no difference I'm basically on my own anyway, and yes I have considered reconciliation but this man is evil reincarnated, someone who stood in front of my door and cursed me for hours because of 400# that's how terrible he is and when my mum died he almost had a party to rub my nose in it, if I start talking about him it won't end, so reconciliation isn't an option, I'd like to cut him off as he's diabolic and the way he constantly talks about me and the anger and jealousy in him boils he's doing everything so I don't succeed, he keeps telling me life will always be hard for me, and I'll never progress in life, I feel I need to leave the hostile environment so I can succeed in life as nothing grows in the midst of such hate and diabolical actions, secondly I don't want to die suddenly like my mum who was okay in the morning and died in the evening from simple headache.

An “intelligent manipulator” who murdered her parents then lived alongside their bodies for four years while spending their money has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 36 years.

Virginia McCullough poisoned her father John McCullough, 70, with prescription medication that she crushed and put into his alcoholic drinks in June 2019.

A day later she also beat her 71-year-old mother Lois McCullough with a hammer and fatally stabbed her.

Chelmsford Crown Court heard the 36-year-old hid their bodies in makeshift tombs at the family home in Great Baddow in Essex, then told persistent lies to cover her tracks.

She ran up large debts on credit cards in her parents’ names and after their deaths, she continued to spend their pensions.

The court heard she cancelled family arrangements and frequently told doctors and relatives her parents were unwell, on holiday or away on lengthy trips.

But concerns for Mr and Mrs McCullough’s welfare were raised in September 2023 by a GP at their registered practice, and Essex County Council’s safeguarding team referred these to police.

The GP had not seen the couple for some time and said Mr McCullough had failed to collect medication and attend scheduled appointments.

It was found that McCullough had frequently cancelled appointments, using a range of excuses to explain her father’s absence.

Police said a missing persons investigation was initially launched and McCullough lied to officers, claiming her parents were travelling and would be returning in October.

It became a murder investigation, and when officers forced entry to the house in Pump Hill on September 15 2023, McCullough confessed that her parents’ bodies were in the house and that she had killed them.

Mr Owhomuno Ogbigbe, a known actor in the Isoko Nollywood movie,was on Tuesday, the 17th of December 2024, gruesomely murder by unknown assassins. The ugly incident took place at a burial ground in Ozoro, in Isoko North local government area of Delta State.
The deceased, who hailed from Ovrode but resides in Ellu community, all in Isoko North attend the said burial on the invitation of friend. While on the burial ground, the assailants went to his seat, aimed the gun at him and shot him multiple times, and he was confirmed dead in the hospital.
This has thrown the whole Ellu kingdom, Ovrode community and Ibrede Community into mourning.
Ozoro is a notorious place for all manner of evil. Living there is a high risk.

viral video showing an unidentified lady allegedly defrauding a 58-year-old handicapped woman at an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in Nnewi.

According to a statement released today, December 19, by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspect disguised herself as a helper to the victim before swapping her ATM card.

Shortly after leaving the scene, the victim received multiple debit alerts amounting to ₦2,000,000, withdrawn in parts.

The police are urging residents of Nnewi and surrounding areas to provide any useful information that could lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, expressed concern over the incident and directed the Public Relations Officer to work closely with the victim to gather more details.

He also ordered the deployment of advanced intelligence-gathering tools to identify the suspect and her potential accomplices.

The police reassured the public of their commitment to apprehending the perpetrator and bringing her criminal network to justice, while also advising residents to exercise caution during ATM transactions to avoid falling victim to similar scams.
