papyjaypaul: I have posted on this topic and noticed a trend of Nigerians, using money and unemployment as an excuse to justify 'content creation'. Girls now think selling their nudes and acting pawn is an easy way to have money. Girls are now seeing men as depraved people because some depraved souls are subscribing and paying for their debauchery. They want to ignore the mental illness this thing causes. There are no gentlemen and ladies anymore, we 're having extremists on both sides, redpill men, feminist women and the institution of marriage, building a family and the unit of society being destroyed. Can't we see that this is a systematic destruction of society? A me, me society and no one cares about the community because there is no need for living with the opposite sex and understanding our differences.
Do you think we should continue to look in for depravity to go on? Or we should mind our business while society goes to the jungles?
Are women getting more independent or the internet is deceiving them

Animegirl: I have a burning passion to become a wealthy and successful woman, but I'm worried that getting married and having children might force me to put my dreams on hold. I'm concerned that I won't be able to balance family life with my personal ambitions. Furthermore, the societal pressures in Nigeria, combined with the constraints of time and age, are making me feel like I'm already at a disadvantage. My desire for success is strong, but I'm fearful that having a family might mean sacrificing my dreams.
I'm really scared.

Featuredgist: Ooni’s ex-wife, others face probe as 32 children killed at Ibadan fun fair. The Oyo State Police Command says it is investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged death of 32 children during a stampede at a funfair in Ibadan, the state capital, on Wednesday. Multiple eyewitness accounts that the stampede occurred when participants rushed to gain access to the venue of the event reportedly organised by the ex-queen of the Ooni of Ife, Prophetess Naomi Shikemi, and an Ibadan-based broadcaster, Oriyomi Hamzat. Investigations showed that the victims were stampeded to death while trying to break through the main gate of the school. It was further gathered that provision was made for 5,000 children but the number that turned up for the event was reportedly over 7, 500. Narrating the scenario in a video, an eyewitness at the scene of the incident, who did not mention her name, noted that the organisers had invited 5,000 participants for the funfair but the situation got out of control when the scene became rowdy leading to a stampede that led to several casualties. Another participant claimed he lost a child during the incident. Multiple sources told our correspondents that some of the children, including their parents, were said to have kept vigil at the venue of the event.
One of our correspondents observed that an uncontrollable crowd caused gridlock on the Basorun-Idi Ape Road. An Administrative Officer of Patnas Hospital, Basorun, where some of the victims were admitted, Olufeyemi Tolulope, said, “The affected children were brought in some minutes past 8am. Six children were brought into the hospital out of which five died while the other one is recuperating. One of the parents of the deceased, who was sighted at the hospital premises wailing, said, “I did not bargain for what happened to me. We slept together at home Continue reading on

DrMB: The excitement was palpable, the air thick with the scent of celebration. Yet, beneath this veneer of happiness, a storm was brewing—one of human error and overlooked details. What happens when the dream of a perfect day shatters into a thousand pieces? As we slowly unravel the events of that fateful morning, prepare yourself for a tale where hope meets horror. Don't miss out—as we dive into the stark reality behind the smiles.
As dawn broke over Ibadan on December 18, 2024, the air was thick with anticipation. Islamic High School in Bashorun was transformed into a hub of excitement, set to host a funfair for 5,000 children. Organized by Queen Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi, former wife of the Ooni of Ife, and Agidigbo 88.7 FM, this event was meant to be a beacon of joy. But as we delve deeper, what should have been a celebration turned into a sobering lesson on the dangers of good intentions without meticulous planning.
Good intentions are never enough. Planning events, especially for vulnerable groups like children, demands meticulous preparation and a commitment to safety. The Ibadan funfair tragedy is a painful reminder that joy can only flourish in an environment of care and responsibility.
As we reflect on this heartbreaking event, let it inspire us to do better—to ensure that the next gathering meant to bring smiles doesn’t end in tears. Let every tragedy birth strategies for a safer, more thoughtful world. In the aftermath, silence speaks louder than the day's earlier cheer. We've learned a grim but crucial lesson: good intentions alone won't save us. But together, with laughter and learning, we can build safer futures. Don't let this tragedy fade into the background; share it, discuss it, and let's plan better. Comment and pledge your commitment to safer community events, because the next gathering could be yours.

Triton1996: Quilox Club, in partnership with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has launched a campaign aimed at combating the circulation of fake drinks in nightclubs.
The campaign is one of the activities to mark Quilox Club's 11th anniversary, and it is expected to raise awareness and promote the importance of selling safe and regulated products in the entertainment industry. At a briefing held in Lagos, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Quilox Club, Akinlabi Peller said the club is committed to promoting the distribution of authentic drinks registered with NAFDAC.
He stated that Quilox's authenticity is a top priority and that it has consistently sourced its drinks directly from manufacturers or approved suppliers over the past 11 years.
Peller added that to ensure authenticity, unique serial numbers were placed on each bottle.
He said “We have always upheld the distribution of genuine, NAFDAC-approved drinks in our establishment, and we are calling on other club owners to adopt similar practices.
"By working together with NAFDAC, we can clamp down on the circulation of fake drinks and protect public health.”
Peller also revealed that as part of Quilox's anniversary, there will be a 36-hour non-stop party beginning on December 22.
Also speaking, Director of Investigation and Enforcement at NAFDAC’s Lagos Directorate, Shaba Mohammed reiterated that all drinks sold in Nigeria must be registered with NAFDAC before being introduced into the market.
He revealed that NAFDAC recently sealed over ten outlets in December for selling fake drinks.
Mohammed commended Quilox for its long-standing adherence to the agency's guidelines. “NAFDAC is very impressed with Quilox. Several times we have made unschedled visit and leave satisfied. As you know, NAFDAC has zero tolerance for unregistered and counterfeit products." Mohammed was represented by the Assistant Director of the Water and Drink Division at NAFDAC, Kunle Ojo added: “We cannot do it alone; it requires a collective effort, and we appreciate Quilox for being a key partner in this fight against counterfeit drinks.”
Also speaking, Olushola Farinloye, Managing Director of Quilox, added that the club always ensures its drinks are sourced directly from the production companies, reinforcing their commitment to serving only authentic products.
