Have you ever had an experience of a tenant who has refused to evict a house even after the rent expiration?

Despite all the notifications and reminders?
Someone you told a year before and you kept on reminding him.

What's the best option for such a tenant who is threatened you the house owner that he is free to stay for another period of 6 month after his rent expiration, claiming he is yet to find another house to move to. according to Nigeria law.

He has stayed for free for three months already.

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered all banks operating in Nigeria to blacklist a media executive, Chief Nduka Obaigbena and members of his family over alleged debt to First Bank of Nigeria.

The December 30, 2024 Mareva order also sought to prevent Mr Obaigbena from moving any assets linked to him from the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court.

First Bank had filed a debt-recovery suit against Mr Obaigbena and his family members, including Efe Damilola Obaigbena and Olabisi Eka Obaigbena, saying they used their oil servicing firm General Hydrocarbons Limited to assume debt of about $718 million.

At least $225 million had been frozen in bank accounts run by the Obaigbenas as part of the order, which was issued by Justice Deinde Dipeolu in suit FHC/L/CS/2378/2024.


In a separate petition to CBN Governor Yemi Cardoso last year, Mr Obaigbena said he helped save First Bank from imminent collapse in 2021 when he used the resources from OML 120 oil block he secured under President Muhammadu Buhari to elevate the company’s fortunes from declaring N161 billion loss to announcing N151 billion in profits for the year ended December 31, 2021.

“We have been left with no choice but to go to court and arbitration to preserve our fundamental rights and our rights under the agreements in the face of FBN’s attempts to clubber and bully us out of existence,” Mr Obaigbena said in the November 7, 2024, complaint.

I step out of Lagos searching for a reliable camry 2004. I saw many dealers on Jiji and nairaland. I visited each of them with my reliable mechanic.
After checking several cars, we discovered that none of the Nigerian used cars is worth buying .
They always have one problem or the other. The most common is bad engines.

Many dealers even promised to give my mechanic 100k behind my back to convince me to buy this melon car.

It's crazy that with 4.5 million, all you can get is a bad car.
We return home disappointed.

On getting home. I went back to check my own car that I have been driving for 5 years. My engine, gear, and ac are still in perfect condition and I wonder if those putting their car on sale are those with major problem.

Nigeria dealers have ruined the used car market.
Is this a problem with toyota or because the car is a lower year.

I didn't consider other brands. Maybe it would have been a different situation.

At the moment, we are considering buying Tokunbo direct or on installment payment in order to evade this madness in the Nigerian used car Market

This car reigned in Nigeria between 1976 and 1996 as a family car mostly for the middle class and was very common amongst University lecturers and professors. It sold between N7,000 to N10,000 back then when there was nothing like Tokunbo cars...everybody bought brand new!

Today it is mostly used as a beat-up car for carrying farm produce

Please guys, I need your help, I am really going nut and I am loosing my mind, got married February 2023, and our sex lives was very great, we had fun almost on daily bases. She took in that same month of our marriage, but since then, having sex with my wife has been a huge task, through out the 9 months pregnancy I only had sex with her twice. Which I tried to understand with her, because some women's body react differently.
She gave birth November 2023 though through C.S, i gave her enough time like 4 months before I started making attempt again, and I felt everything will return back to normal, but it was as if the child birth aggravated the whole thing, she turns down every attempt with almost no excuse. She just gives flimsy excuses that she's not in the mood. I have had series of discussions with her on how I have been frustrated and she down plays all my serious feelings. I even jokingly threaten to get it from outside, yet she still doesn't take me seriously.

Sincerely, I have suffered emotionally and mentally.

Mind you, I provide for the family to my very best and i am very sure she doesn't cheat on me. Please guys I need help on this, I am really loosing my mind.

ABUJA–The Government of the United States of America, USA, has repatriated the sum of $52. 88 million it said was traced to former Petroleum Resources Minister Diezani Madueke.


The US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Richard M. Mills, Jr, led a delegation that executed the Assets Return Agreement at the Federal Ministry of Justice Headquarters in Abuja, on Friday.

Signing the agreement on behalf of the Federal Government, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, disclosed that the $52.88m arose from the forfeiture of Galactica assets, linked to the ex-Minister and her associates.

The AGF maintained that the development was not only a testament to the unwavering commitment of both nations to fight corruption but also signified the commitment of the USA to facilitate restitution and support integrity and accountability in governance.

“Measures have also been put in place to ensure that the repatriated funds are not only disbursed but also utilized transparently and accountably by the World Bank and IIJ, with periodic reports to be forwarded to Nigeria and the US on the implementation of the projects.


“This robust framework will guarantee that the funds are effectively used for the full benefit of the Nigerian people in line with UNCAC and the Global Forum on Asset Recovery (GFAR) principles,” the AGF added.

South Africa’s Sports Minister Gayton McKenzie has given his support to calls for a boycott of Afghanistan at the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan, adding his voice to those of British politicians who have called on England not to play the South Asian nation at the tournament next month.

“Cricket South Africa, the federations of other countries and the ICC (International Cricket Council) will have to think carefully about the message the sport of cricket wishes to send the world, and especially the women in sports,” he said in a statement on Thursday.

“It is not for me as the sports minister to make the final decision on whether South Africa should honour cricketing fixtures against Afghanistan. If it was my decision, then it certainly would not happen.”

England and South Africa share the same group with Afghanistan in the one-day international (ODI) competition and are under pressure to boycott the fixtures in response to the Taliban government’s crackdown on women’s rights since returning to power in August 2021.

Cricket giants South Africa are scheduled to open their Champions Trophy schedule against Afghanistan in Karachi on February 21 but McKenzie urged his country’s cricket governing body not to honour the fixture.

“As a man who comes from a race that was not allowed equal access to sporting opportunities during Apartheid, it would be hypocritical and immoral to look the other way today when the same is being done towards women anywhere in the world,” he added.

More than 160 British politicians have signed a cross-party letter to the England and Wales Cricket Board, calling for a boycott of England’s fixture against Afghanistan in Lahore on February 26.

ECB chief executive Richard Gould responded by calling for a uniform approach from all member nations towards Afghanistan’s participation in international cricket.

Australia are the other team scheduled to take on Afghanistan, in Lahore on February 28.

Cricket Australia indefinitely postponed a bilateral men’s Twenty 20 series against Afghanistan last March citing “deteriorating human rights for women and girls in the country under Taliban rule” but they did play them at the World Cup in India in late 2023 and at the T20 World Cup last June.

Cricket Australia chairman Mike Baird last month said he was “very proud of the position we’ve taken” after they were accused of hypocrisy.

“We’ve taken a position, and we’re proudly standing up where we think we should,” he said.
