Yesterday is a beautiful reflection. Today is a new beginning. Tomorrow is a limitless possibility. On my birthday am sharing 21 life lessons i have experienced while living. 1. Never give up on anything. Miracle's happen everyday. 2. It is better to strive for excellence than perfection. 3. Don't waste time grieving over past mistakes, better learn from them and move on. 4. Amazing things happen, crazy things happen, sad things happen, but life goes on no matter what. 5. Always have a swings to lay back on when things turn around. 6. If you are doing something right, then you must expect haters. 7. Procrastination is a choice. You always have the choice to take action on whether you want to do something or you don't. 8. I learnt to take responsibility of my own life. There are things you better need to do by yourself than relying on other people. You take the direction and result of your life into your own hand. 9. Once you start to have success in any area of life, people around you tend to change and act differently towards you. 10. I learnt that there is always that enemy that appears to be friend. So be careful on whom you trust. 11. Don't take life so seriously, always make time for fun. 12. Never expect life to be fair. 13. Don't worry so much about your future, don't fall to the stress of the pressure of career, job and marriage. There is always appointed time. 14. Life is shot tomorrow is not guaranteed. So don't live life like you have or own tomorrow because you really don't. 15. Never allow your actions to be motivated by emotion. 16. Love yourself and always desire to improve on yourself. 17. Set goals and dreams for yourself. Dare to achieve them. Do something life changing. 18. Have a mentor and always welcome wisdom from the elderly and wise when you have the opportunity. 19. Laugh a lot, a good sense of humor cures almost all life's ill. 20. Your best friend is not the person you talk to everyday or the one that knows much about you. Your best friend is the person you always count on anywhere ~ anytime. 21. Always remember you got a lot of growing up to do and a a lot more to learn. I have learnt both wonderful and tough life lessons thus far, they are my experiences. Happy birthday to me. Cc: http://naijatalent..com.ng/2016/06/21-powerful-lessons-i-have-learned.html?m=1 |

UNCOVERING YOUR CONFIDENCE Most people lack self confidence because they failed to direct or connect to what is important to them. When you connect yourself to what is important to you and what you value. People failed to believe in themselves because they consider what other people think about them more prominence than what they think about themselves. Another factor to consider is comparisons. Before you uncover your confidence you must avoid comparing yourself unfavorably with others. Never feel you can’t be as good as someone. Believe in yourself, see yourself ad a leader in your own world and one day people will recognize you. But it must start from you. Believe that you are going to be successful and surround yourself with people who support and believe in you. Building confidence starts with going with your strength and what you are good at. For confidence to thrive you must concentrate your attention in your potentials rather than turning yourself into what you are not. Questions that will enable you build your confidence. 1. What am I good at? 2. When have you seen me operate at my best? 3. What should I do more of? 4. What should I do less of? 5. What can you rely on me for? 6. What do you think I can improve on myself? These above questions should be asked to your close friends and people you can confide on. After gathering feedbacks, you should be able to find actions you can put in place to encourage the talents and potentials. Find also ways to improve on your skills. HOW YOU FEEL WHEN YOU HAVE SELF CONFIDENCE 1. You are always balanced and poised 2. You are breathing easily without fidgeting 3. You are always proactive and prepared 4. You are always on a course of action to accomplish 5. You are not afraid of whatever life throw at you because you belief you can handle it. 6. You know that everything will be alright in the end no matter the situation. IMPORTANCE OF CONFIDENCE 1. Direction and value: confidence gives you sense of direction and value. Confidence makes you enjoy every bit of what you do and shields you from distraction. 3. A positive mindset: a confident mind is an optimistic mind. DEALING WITH PROCRASTINATION! 10 TIPS TO HELP YOU BOOST PRODUCTIVITY &OVERCOME PROCRASTINATION 1. Accept the fact that there simply isn’t enough time to do everything. That’s why it’s so important to work on the most important things. If you’re always focused on the important things, both in your business and personal life, you’ll always be making the greatest contribution by using your time wisely. 2. Establish a relaxed state of mind. Keep calm. Stay focused on what you have to do. Ignore everything else. Too much additional stress can make the whole task that much more challenging. Your mental state is something you can control. Don’t let outside pressures get to you. Understand what must be done and do it in a calm, relaxed, self-assured manner. 3. Stop trying to be a perfectionist. It’s easy to get caught up in the trap of trying to make something just a little bit better. But often the results of the additional tinkering make little difference in the overall outcome, though the cost in both time and unnecessary stress can be sizable. 4. Accept your productivity shortcomings as human nature. It does you no good to beat yourself up. When you’ve been less than productive, you need to stop and re-focus. Don’t dwell on past failures—simply accept it as human nature. Then, get to work. 5. Prepare a list of all the tasks that need to be done. Your to-do list should include everything that comes to mind. The idea is to get it all down on paper. Don’t edit your selections or stop to think about any single item. Just keep building the list until you’ve covered it all. 6. Treat your workspace as a place of productivity. Condition your mind to acknowledge your office as an area where things get done. Do this consistently and you’ll soon find yourself accomplishing more whenever you’re there. Find other space for other less-productive activities, events and actions. Keep your workspace reserved for high-performance activities. 7. Develop the habit on sketching out plans on paper for accomplishing tasks, large and small. The degree of success enjoyed by many can be directly attributed to the amount of written life planning they undertake. Create the road map first and follow it. Simple, but very effective. 8. Stop and think about what you’re planning to do. How could it be done more effectively? Take a few minutes to outline, schedule and rationalize your plans. A simple outline can save you hours of indecision. 9. Set goals. Write them down and keep them in front of you. Know what you’re striving for. Record your goals in your day planner and refer to them often. Set a realistic timeline for the accomplishment of each goal. 10. Create a flow chart for each major project. At the top of the page list the goal or the task to be accomplished. Each job can be broken down into individual action steps with deadlines for each task along the way. The idea of a flow chart is to continually break down each step into smaller steps, with each sequence being a more fundamental action than the previous one. A flow chart provides a critical action path that leads directly to your goal. http://naijatalent..com.ng/2016/06/dealing-with-procrastination-10-tips-to.html?m=1 |

Inferiority complex is an unrealistic feeling of general inadequacy caused by actual or supposed inferiority in one sphere, sometimes marked by aggressive behaviour in compensation. An inferiority complex is a persistent feeling of being inferior to others in some way. It is usually connected with a real or imaginary shortcoming in physical appearance, intelligence, personality, education, social status or economic status. CAUSES An inferiority complex occurs when the feelings of inferiority are intensified in the individual through discouragement or failure. Those who are at risk for developing a complex include people who: show signs of low self-esteem or self-worth, have low socioeconomic status, or have a history of depression symptoms. Children reared in households where they were constantly criticized or did not live up to parents' expectations may also develop an inferiority complex. Many times there are warning signs to someone who may be more prone to developing an inferiority complex. For example, someone who is prone to attention and approval-seeking behaviors may be more susceptible. Also, children raised in families where everything is done for them, who have developed what Adler called a "pampered lifestyle". These individuals have developed a form of learned helplessness and are unable to overcome the problems of life without assistance. REMEDY 1. You must admit that you feel inferior. It's the first step when trying to end this problem. You must tell yourself that you are not less important than other people and that the problem is in your head; the feeling isn't real. Search your memories for the origin of this complex. If you find out what started it, this may serve as the basis for your recovery. Facing the past is not easy, but sometimes you have to do it to heal. 2. Identify the symptoms of this feeling of inferiority. An empty stomach, nervousness, excessive sweating and trembling, are some signs that will warn you. Even if you are very used to feeling that way, experiment for a moment and think. You must be aware of that intangible thought that you yourself put in your mind. And it'll be yourself who gets rid of it, with time and patience. 3. If you can't overcome it alone and you're living in a constant state of depression, incapable of having relationships with people and leading a full life, seek psychological help. Don't be scared or ashamed, an inferiority complex is a very common problem and has a solution, just seek professional help and advice. 4.Try not to worry about what others think. Inferiority complexes arise from our constant concern about what others think about us. We oftentimes find problems with ourselves based on if others find us good enough. This isn't healthy thinking. Stop worrying so much about what others think about you. Only your opinion matters. Sometimes these judgments are real, but many times they are imaginary. Focus on making yourself happy without worrying about what others think. And try not to make up people's judgments. https://naijatalent..com.ng/2016/06/dealing-with-inferiority-complex-part.html?m=1 |

If you’ve spent any amount of time around top executives or business leaders, you’ve probably found that most of them don’t speak like your typical employee. There is a recognizable confidence, timbre and clarity to their vocal presence that can motivate and inspire the masses. 1. Um, drop verbal crutches These crutches are most pronounced during pauses that occur while delivering a speech or presentation. They can come in the form of unintelligible sub-vocalizations such as "um" and "er" which awkwardly fill the silence, or as a subconscious habitual cough, lip-licking or overused hand gesture. They can also manifest as any number of verbal ticks which can be distracting and ultimately undermine your credibility (think phrases such as "you know,” “like,” “frankly,” or “to be honest”). The problem is that few of us recognize our own dependence on these crutches. The quickest cure for this is to record yourself using a smartphone app speaking extemporaneously for a minute or two on any topic. Then, listen back and count how many of these crutches you use. This simple exercise will help you be more conscious when you speak. 2. Keep going despite verbal miscues If you slip up or stumble over words while delivering a presentation or speech, don't stop and apologize. Keep going as if nothing happened. Most people don't even notice those types of verbal flubs until the speaker draws unnecessary attention to it by stopping and apologizing for the misstep. Not only is that disconcerting to the speaker, it's disconcerting to the audience as well. 3. Avoid introductory qualifiers These are those wishy-washy throwaway phrases that we work into our speech to be polite or build consensus -- phrases such as "perhaps,” “kind of,” “hopefully” or any other mealy derivative of the same. Such limp words will only weaken you and your status as a leader. 4. End sentences cleanly Too often, people make great points but they keep going to the point where they talk themselves into a corner and don't know how to end the conversation. So they tag on a throwaway phrase that adds nothing to the discussion. Examples of these types of sluggish nomenclature include "and what not," "things like that," and “you know what I'm saying.” These lazy linguistic lapses should be avoided at all costs. 5. One thought per sentence This last tip will help eliminate most of the aforementioned issues. When we isolate one concept per sentence, verbal pauses between sentences can become powerful attention grabbers with no room for crutches. There's also less chance for a verbal mix-up if each sentence is a single, crisp idea. Plus, a punchy concept blasts through paltry qualifiers and sentence tagalongs.
