Wow... that's pretty disturbing. Someone once said that most Nigerian web hosting companies are bunch of opportunist, that have no clue what web hosting actually entails. I think you should do yourself a massive favour, contact a solicitor and sue your web hosting company. Legally, if you have lost out financially through no fault of your own then you may consider taking legal action against the company you believe was responsible for causing the loss. In this case you can sue the company for damage caused to your business, this could be loss of business due to any number of factors, loss of important records and data You can also sue the comapny for negligence, further more; breach of contract, a financial loss suffered due to the failure of the company to meet a contractual obligation. Don't worry if you don't have the money to sue, the web hosting company will be responsible for paying all the legal expenses should they be found guilty as charged... ![]() There are few good web hosting companies in Nigeria, personally HostNigeria is outstanding and a lot of webmasters that have dealings with them will tell you that you can never get a better Nigerian web hosting company than http://www.hostnigeria.com.ng If all Nigeria web hosts can be like hostnigeria then who needs foreign web hosts Try them out and thank me later ![]() |
Not sure, but beware of bootleg copies, there are so many pirated copies of nollywood movies and I don't think most of the video shops in those areas listed above have operating licenses. If you are UK based, checkout www.nollyfilms.co.uk, it's a legit video club where you can rent nollywood movies on dvd. Hope this helps! |
Hello people, Below is an email message I received today meant to target Interswitch customers, requesting the custmers to verify their insterswitch account. Although I dont's know much or use interswitch myself but I thought this may be useful before people start falling victims. Due to HTML restrictions on this website you will not be able to see the actual message as I received it. We are currently re-positioning our Quick Teller product to give your ATM card a better service. If you happen to receive this or similar kind of email, my advice is don't click on any link from such email. NOTE the link "https://webpay.interswitchng.com/webpay/" may truely exist within interswitch but do not be deceived as that link will actually link you to this "http://sarangttl.net/bbs/data/ph3/1161153127/webpay.interswitchng.com_webpay.htm" also note the "SARANGTTL.NET" So not only the the email receiver is a victim, but also Interswitch.com and SARANGTTL.NET. Hope this helps an interswitch customer.! |
For a start you can easily hack most naija made website especially when developed by "quack webmasters". Secondly there are free h-a-c-k-i-n-g utilities all over the place, available to every tom, d-i-c-k and harry, so an attempt to hack anyone nowadays is inevitable. You do not need to be a guru to hack. Thirdly, "True Webmasters, programmer" what ever you want to call them do not hack an active organisation to prove a point, instead it's used within their own organisation for beta testing or similar. And lastly like Dual Core wrote above, "NairaLand may need to write it's own disclaimer" Also this may serve as a lesson for those naija companies that seek cheap web developers. If you want to be online then u do so solidly, especially for financial institution, going online is not a child's play when you have mega massive responsibilities on your shoulder. All in all I do not in any way condole the action. |
@ segsalerty. "Thanks for supplying this code for the buddy @webjunior" I take that part of your post with pride, the rest is extraneous. Though if you still like to know where I got the link from then visit and re vist http://www.nairaland.com At least I have made an effort, I'm not here to prove nothing, just helping the poor lad, open your eyes, visit his website, compare it to the codes here and hopefully as the wise man that you are, you should be able to tell from a nick. Have a wonderful day, should you need a helping hand as well do not hesitate to ask in this forum. |

This information is specifically for those who don't know To the best of my knowledge, Nigeria is not the only country that Paypal are refusing to provide service for. If you ask Paypal they will tell you that presently they cannot afford to, "may be in the nearest future". Asked why? "Unfortunately, Nigeria is one of the countries with high fraud alert, so at this time we cannot provide any service to any of these countries. Because I have a business account with paypal and due to the nature of my business, I asked paypal about the possibility of me getting paid by my customers who happen to reside in Nigeria. Paypal have a kind of system that allows premium account holders to have about 200 members to share the same account, now this is straight, simple and legal. The main paypal account holder will be the only one who can fully access and configure how each member on the account can access the paypal account. While any other member on that account can only READ ONLY, this is been put to test and 99.9% secure. For example; typical paypal master account is this; you@your-email.com. Any other member added on that account will not be identified by their emails, but something like this; Joe Blogg, or Musa Emeka Olalekan. Any other member on this account can always access the master paypal account as if they own it. Though they can see the balance on the master paypal account but they can not spend the money. WARNING! Do not be deceived by companies or people asking you to pay them to get a back door paypal account, they claim they will get you your own paypal account! Any money in such account will be a goner, because paypal will freeze the account, you Will not be able to make purchase, transfer the money or do anything with the money, because it's been frozen and paypal will not refund a penny. They will ask you to reconfirm your address in the US, UK or wherever, they will ask you for your bank statement, proof of identityand all sort. But any money in such account can never be retrieved unless you can satisfy that the account is actually yours, even thought it's been opened on your behalf so don't be double ripped off. Already Paypal is aware that people try to use fake addresses and personal information to obtain a paypal account, so they've tighten up, oh yes and ebay as well, ebay owns paypal or other way round, which ever way, they have made it more difficult for people to obtain paypal and ebay account. And our nija (fraud stars) on ebay residing outside Nigeria are not helping issues either. This is worthless if you do not reside in paypal service enabled country. It's all about your identity, listed below are the three major details you need to successfully open ebay and paypal accounts:
[li]Your First and Last Name[/li] [li]Your Contact Address (including zip/postal code)[/li] [li]Your Land line telephone number[/li]
Not neccessary but you may want to add your bank account info to transport money to and fro your bank and paypal. Paypal does not force you to have a debit card or bank account on file, but from time to time they will alert you via your paypal account area, just for your own cconvenience afterall you are the one who want to pay for goods oon line or if you want any money paid into your paypal account transfered into your bank account you need to submit your bank details. Same goes to the debit card, if you do not have money in your paypal account, you can use your debit card, this debit card would have been confirmed yours by paypal, before they allow you to use it on their system. I do not understand how Nigerians living in Nigeria will be able to meet up with this demand, unless you have a family living in a paypal service enabled country, if this is the case then you are as good as living in a paypal enabled country. And I did not mention paypal is 100% secured, some people still get round it, but those people are very few and not people permanently residing in Nigeria, I believe. Hope this answer few questions. |
Go back to basic, good old frontpage express. ![]() |
Sorry for my late response. All I can say is go for it. But London University made it clear that they have no relationship with the school in question, what they do have is a system which allows any school or body to offer london university's courses. Here is a link if this helps you. http://www.londonexternal.ac.uk/. Take care. |
I have been to the website, sounds good but I'm not sure about their affiliation with the university of london. I'm inquiring for my lil sister. 7: 41 am now, I'll be calling the london university later today to confirm this, I'll get back to you and let you know. But all in all I think it's a good plan. Take care. |
Dear uspry1 Thanks for your response, I have checked out those websites and they are good leads, they discussed of the older versions tho and not the current ones, so the problem is still there. But come to think of it, is it really neccessary to please all browsers? Any way thanks, if anything comes you way please do not hesitate to share. |

This question troubles me a lot as I am English (mixed race),and married to an Igbo man. He is the best, and we are in love. The answer is yes, a Nigerian man can be happy with an english wife. I'm a Nigerian man, happily married to an English woman, with 2 lovely children. Never for once has language or anything culture related been a barier in our relationship. Like yourself, my wife out of interest, asked me to teach her few words, and sentence combination, even bought some yoruba books, we both find it funny especially when translating, ? she speaks few words that she knows to the children as she wish, never has any time been under any kind of pressure to learn my culture, She cooks for me as well, like rice beans, plantain, etc, she even eats pounded yam, she eats pepper and all sorts, yet she still eats all the general english foods, we both do and we understand each other perfect. We are regular customer of 805 Restaurant in old kent road, we go to alot of Nigerian restaurants about 2wice in a month, and yet we do go pure english outing. We love each other and the children, my mum and my wife love each other dearly as well, they do take the piss out of each other, my younger sisters and my wife get on very well, and my younger brother as well, we do exchange gifts, from uk to nigeria and vice versa. Tho, we do have misunderstanding like every body does, but it doesn't last for long as we understand each other. And please don't take third party advices too, serious as it may be the cause of the begining of the end of your relation with your lovely man. So, I believe a Nigerian man can be happy with his English wife. |
obua: brownbonno:Sorry, I "lied" about the cost of exportation, the initial figure is £450 and not £250, so add extra £200 about (48,000 Naira) on top of the shipping cost, still not justified, though I agree that UK cars are right handed and no market for them, but this is not my point, this is just an example out few I know, so be it imported from Germany, Canada or US, still makes no much difference as not most people can afford imported goods, just because of the price tag. I like to know why imported goods are "excessively" expensive in Nigeria?, if everyone is has the "Go For The Kill" attitude, what's going to happen to the common citizens that cannot afford imported goods? And please note using that car as an example does not neccessarily mean I'm targetting it, car prices are various, based on make, model, milage, fuel etc. This article started right from my office, having a chit chat with few of my colleagues about sending goods home for business, turned to a debate, when it comes to the point of making profit these guys attitude were like "Go For The Kill", "If u can't beat them, join them" and stuff like that. One actually told me "all you need to do is send to cars home, you don become millionaire, and with your profits you buy two more cars" It's alarming. ![]() |
justicemek:Draw an outstanding business plan, prove to your bank that your business idea is worth investing on. Banks like to invest in potentials as well you know, convince your bank with your theory and prove it by producing a detailed business plan written by you. Prove to your bank that your business will not foldup in the next 6 to 12 months, if your proposal is good, your bank will loan you the capital for your business, although it is always a good idea to have some capital before you start thinking of business,as it shows your level of dedication towards the business! A bank will loan you the money, if (a) You are credit worthy (b) you have an initial deposit towards your business yourself, (c) You have a smashing business plan. (a) and (b) not always necessary, but at the expense of higher APR. Hope this helps! |
I have noticed that imported goods are extremely expensive in Nigeria? below is one of the basic analysis that triggers this question. A 2000/2001 HONDA ACCORD AKA (babyboy) motor car in Nigeria is around 1.5 million naira, and that's even cheap. This is just one example out of many, similar thing applies to computer importation and other valuable products that Nigeria as a whole could benefit from. First my exchange rate convertion is xe.com, so my calculation is based on the exchange rate at the time of my posting! Now in the UK this car only worth about £975. So let's follow the illustration below; Car Purchased in UK = £975.00 about (230,000 Naira) Exportation Cost = £250.00 about ( 59,000 Naira) Clearance Cost in Nigeria = £852.00 about (200,000 Naira) Profit = ![]() ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TOTAL = £2,077 about (489,000 Naira) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So back to the alarming figure 1,500,000 Naira - 489,000 Naira =1, 011, 000 Naira (1) So what happens to the 1, 0011, 000 Naira excess? (2) Are there other hidden charges we do not know about or is this the profit car dealers make generally in Nigeria? (3) If the excess here is the profit how many common fellow citizen have the chance of owning a car? May be my analysis is wrong, someone please put me right! |
The lack of response regarding this topic shows that there is no market for computers like these in Nigeria. Any way I will back off and pay attention to other areas. Regards! |

Too many specs to list here, but I like to know how much they go for in Nigeria, regarding laplops, I've been able to check and test few pentium 4s and 3s, I'm yet to finish sorting them out according to their specs! Their are thousands of pentium 2 laptops as well, not sure about market for these ones in Nigeria!, I have not personally tested them tho, but they are working as they have been neatly stacked. I know there is market for the P2s in places like Uganda, Gambia etc, but I have no contacts there! I like to know roughly the cost of a P2, P3 & P4 Laptops in Nigeria and the cost of P4s spec I gave above, these info is very important to me at the moment and I really like to know, atleast have a rough idea. Please let me know. |
