This got us curious, and we started talking about them even before they officially entered the Nigerian GSM market.

Guess what! Many of us chose our 0809 numbers before Etisalat fully commenced commercial operations in Nigeria. The 0809Uchoose campaign had many students reserving their preferred numbers, even before the their full launch. Thus, in a remarkably short time, Etisalat became a household name in Nigeria!


Now, that was some serious PRE-LAUNCH BRANDING, which is what these guys are doing.

Dear Op, there's no food on earth that is 100% protein; and no living animal (including humans) need 100% protein for their sustenance.

The reason beans and other legumes are classified as protein-rich foods is because the dry forms of rice, maize, yam, potatoes, etc contain about 5-11% crude protein; while beans, soya, groundnut, etc can contain up to 20-40% CP.

These numbers change substantially when we're talking about the cooked forms of these staple foods.

Cooked rice, maize, yam, etc. generally contain about 1–4% crude protein (CP), while cooked beans can contain around 8–9% CP, and groundnut can contain about 25–30% CP.

There’s one tiny secret sha... If you cook your beans till the water “dry”, the CP per 100g will be higher than if you cook it with plenty of water.

Eggs (raw and boiled) contain 12-13% CP, while fried eggs contain 13-14% CP. That's because frying the egg reduces the moisture content, there by increasing the percentage of crude protein relative to the total weight.

Why is this so?
Crude protein is calculated as a percentage of the total weight of the food. So, if two portions contain the same amount of protein but one contains more water, that portion will have a lower protein percentage.

Dry fish explains this further... Some dried fish can contain up to around 70–80% crude protein, making them one of the most protein-dense foods available. But let's say the truth: how many people can afford to eat significant amounts of dry fish regularly?

So babe, when we talk about nutrition, we shouldn't only ask “which food has the highest protein”; we also have to ask: which protein source is most readily affordable, accessible and practical for the average household? Also... How the food is prepared is very important. Roasted g/nut has about 30%CP

Honestly, we do estimates, and they're mostly correct (on the average). You see that 17.5m population for Kano, if they go to take headcount of persons in Kano, they'll arrive at a number very close to that 17.5m. NBS do Household counts, which they usually use when calculating estimated population

Chest freezers work by both conduction and natural convection. When you stock your freezer up, conduction becomes more effective as the surface area is increased tremendously. Also, convection is more efficient as there's very little space; so cold air (which can drop as low as -30°c) is more likely to touch surfaces not cooled by conduction.

My own started that's any...a brand new freezer then after 2 yrs it lacked up...I had to call a Cotonou man who reworked it, recoiled it ..the coil in that freezer came as aluminium and the man removed it and put original corper. Now the freezer is doing the needful

Same experience, Skyrun. But mine lasted for 4-5years. Same aluminum. They recoiled it with copper gas pipes. It's another 5 years now... Working perfectly.

But my freezer works fine. It doesn't gather so much ice on the surface but it freezes fine. I can only check if that is fault when it develop a real fault that requires the attention of a technician. That will be like in 10 years time because I am not expecting it to go bad anytime soon.

I just got mine 3 days ago and I’m seriously facing the same thing . I’m worried sick about my drinks . Because they are not frozen when kept at the buttom of the freezer it only gets cold .
Even a sachet of pure water doesn’t freeze when kept down . Unless those untop . It only keeps things hard frozen from the top to half the freezer . It’s really worrisome .

Don't panic; freezers are not meant to ice from top to bottom. Stock your freezer with food, drinks, etc... You'd be shocked as everything inside will freeze overnight. That's how it's supposed to be- ice from top to below the half way line

When it's fully stocked, it will freeze everything inside

You're very right, that not only alcoholic drinks that are being adulterated; coke, pepsi, fanta, etc are victims. Also, many foods we eat are no saints. Plants absorb nutrients from the soil. Well... They also absorb harmful chemicals. When these chemicals get into the body, we're not able to break them down, or even excrete them easily; they stay behind, causing different problems to the body!

Proper waste disposal is a thing, and nigerians are yet to understand what's at stake

Unless you're trying to tell us you did other tests longside the TSH test, vitamin deficiency being discovered from TSH test is impossible, and a big lie.

Change hospitals, go to a Teaching Hospital preferably. Something else might be making you "extremely weak". Anemia, dehydration, poor nutrition, diabetes, infections (bacteria, viral, etc), other NCDs like heart, liver and kidney diseases could be responsible for the extreme weakness, not just Thyroid diseases and vitamin deficiencies.
