[ mariahAngel:I kuku know where to buy the chocolate and breadcrumbs. Jeez... We'll be waiting for your recipe |
mariahAngel:It actually tastes better than it looks. I'll notify you in my next bake... I wan stop to de buy cakes for routine consumption |
gloryhomemaker:So many lessons. It's been over a year I baked, so it felt like I was learning afresh. I'll try to bake more often. That oil plus butter... I'll jejely just pick one. Milk, I used 1 cup Flour was sifted,, but I didn't sift the baking powder. I thought there was no need for it. I used electric oven, and both the top and bottom heating elements were on... So the cake was getting heat from top and bottom. I did 180° or so for 35mins. I'll try just the bottom heat elements for my next bake, at 180°... Lemme see how it goes. Thanks for the review, it really feels good cooking for the family. One of my boys has been singing my praises, he called his uncle who came visiting... His words "Uncle come, my daddy baked cake for us". Omo.... My heard swell small. I'll remember to keep getting better. Thanks again |
mariahAngel:My measurements were okay. I think the oven heat was too high, and I left it for a bit too long. Madam said the butter I added distorted my measurements; well, I shouldn't have added bitter. Lessons taken... I'll do way better next time

Cake is ready, and I got just what I wanted
|
Sorry gloryhomemaker, I couldn't cope with the pot; I didn't know how to cope with the low heat. So, I took the pan and transferred it to the oven instead. I reduced the heat this time to 150° from 170° I used the first time

I saw this post yesterday, and I decided to emulate @Gloryhomemaker https://www.nairaland.com/7135389/making-cake-blender-no-oven I was excited because the procedures looked simplified. Besides, I have most of the ingredients at home, so why not? The idea of using a blender seemed genius, so I decided to try it out. I mixed double of the ingredients she listed, so I'll use the electri oven for a portion, and pot for the other portion. I didn't use baking soda, and I used nutmeg in addition to other ingredients. **I didn't get the thickness I preferred, so I added some butter 4 Eggs 1/2 Soya oil 1 Sugar Butter

fadal:Small jollof we try manage de cook, e reach your turn, you turn am to Michelin star standard. Oversabi ![]() |
mariahAngel:Not twins; they're just a year apart. **I'll try to post more often. I'm not much of a social media person. Plus I don't snap just about anything and everything. But I'll try to post here a bit more |
ahnie:God bless you Ahnie... 10 times per second... |
folake4u:In the name of whatever you worship.... Abeg no slander that cereal abeg. Jeez... GM? Na garri you prefer ? |
jessylaurel:Well, during NYSC, I joined the catering skill acquisition. I put the knowledge to use once in a while. And yes, I cook better foods than this, and I bake as well. Na bread I wan bake next sef |
jessylaurel:Deep fryer |
Munzy14:Actually, she did it for both father and sons. She can send them to bring whatever, and they'll not make a mistake |
phemmyfour:They pass 2. The other one will be fed by everybody. His spoon was somewhere on the table |
lesson44:Lol... I didn't mean to make a philosopher out of anyone. No reason am ooo. If people start to announce food here, you no go see space read other news on social media. Poverty or not, Nigerians love food, and they eat very good foods! Some people post it to attract customers, some others do it for the fun. I did it to encourage other men to help their wives once in a while; and women to remember to teach their sons how to cook. It might come handy in future. |
Revolution2022:Yes na. They ate it all, and came asking for more plantain (blantain as they call it). Boys can't eat enough right? |
Usherbaba:Don't mind the nonsense bandits. Next time, I will just roast them ![]() |
ufuosman:Sorry boss. Next time, na small food I go cook ![]() |
Michoco:It's a DEEP FRYER. I would advice you to go for AIR FRYER. I heard it gives healthier food (it's not like I care sha). But Air fryer is more fanciful |
FashionCookie:Hahahahahaha... Is that even a thing? Babes, I'm a man, and I have a wife. No worry, I'll join her to cook (maybe bake) someday and post it her. I hope I remember to tag you |
Bahamas95:Hahahahaha... Na now I even notice. No vex, I'll tell her about the spelling... Make she no go make mistake for inside children homework ooo |
AreaFada2:If you dey around Gwarinpa (Jahi, lifecamp, dawaki, karsana)... You can just call me and I will semd address |
etrange:Sorry bro if you are offended. But you see my wife ba... I've not seen another 2 people like her. She's an atypical Naija woman; even my sisters no reach her. No vex ooo... But my wife type no reach 2 again for market 1. All her salaries she's ever earned, I contribute on how it's spent. And I mean ALL! (Her last salary was almost 150k). Abeg how many women still de do this one? 2. My home is so clean, I beg her to allow it get dirty sometimes (but will she ever agree?). No plates stay dirty till day break! 3. The day we have only 500 cash, she use it like that and still make sumptuous meals (the foods are always delicious). I believe say God bless me more because of her. This is someone that almost saved up our house rent from the money I give her for home upkeep ooo... I shock the day she told me about the money. Even my mom would have bought wrapper; my sister would have bought shoes and bags. Some other women might have bought make-up and human hair. Na only very very few women go give you that money. My wife and maybe 2 or 3 other women. See bro, I can't even talk so many qualities here; let's just say she's an atypical Naija woman. Thank you |
Magnoliaa:No worry, my madam matter no de enter public ![]() |
