The increase in social vices today bears brute testimony to our unplanned existence. We leave too many things to chance and expect the best, which is not possible. I have lived in places in our country where the level of poverty is nauseating. The government is not the sole cause of this sordid reality. We need to take our destiny into our own hands, vote in a responsible government, plan our lives and not rely on chance all the time to make it through. We have to also realise development is a product of sacrifice, sweat and sometimes blood.

Good evening, please I want to know if the Stream 2 of 2018 Batch A are to do any form of registration or submission of details again. I want to know because there is a rumour in town that the portal shall be opened for registration next month and there will be no stream 2, but rather the July batch will be batch B. I am still following the customary pattern waiting of the batch A Stream 2 for mobilisation to camp come July. I feel there is no need of them doing any form of registration again because their details are already with NYSC and NYSC have scheduled their encampment for July. I would appreciate if anyone with authentic info help in this regard.

If the above is true, then Osibanjo has no more reason to inhabit the same power space with Buhari. All supporters of Buhari are hereby classified as vampires!

Yes, I have had an experience of a young woman who got married to a naval officer but left the marriage and came back to the village, because, according to her, the marriage was too dull to be continued. Not even the libations and deputations of the husband folk made her change her mind, as she stuck to her opinion and eventually remarried at the village to an 'interesting man'. But as most marriage tales that hope to end in 'happily ever after' do rarely end on that note, the interesting man didn't have money to take care of her and she went through hell. But she had made her decision and stayed with him until the end of time. Women have a special kind of stubbornness and it may be a reason they succeed a lot in life, because success demands perservance and stubbornness from us.

As far as I am concerned, and based on international definitions of the word, a youth is someone coming to a sense of independence in this world. The period between childhood and adulthood. The UN, for statistical consistency across regions, defines ‘youth’ as those persons between the ages of 15 and 24 years. It can be based, for instance, on the definition given in the African Youth Charter where “youth” means “every person between the ages of 15 and 35 years". The Nigerian National Youth Policy defines youth as anyone between the age of 18 and 35. From the above definitions, it is out of place to call people like Gov Bello and Senator Melaye youth, except contextually as a distinct age group from Buhari and ilk.
